Wow, i finally had time to listen to all of you- it was great! I LOVE accents of any type. Sky- i LOVE the way you say your screen name, it's so awesome sounding. I didn't expect it to be pronounced that way at all. And i laughed until i cried at the "angry sounding tongue twister" you did, cause it just sounded like you wanted to kill somebody from Candyland or something, lol. Also- thanks for teaching interesting words to say instead of bland things like "cup" or "chair", learning curse words is fun in any language!!Great job to everybody, thanks so much for posting these it was nice to hear you all and put a face to the names.

HEY EVERYONE! I'm trying to make a compilation clip of everyone's accents! If your vids are not on this last page could you please make a quick post with URLS to ALL of the vids you've done thus far! I've been inactive last few days and haven't kept up with the new vids! (I'm so happy this thread has been so active & successful!    ;D Also, if you posted your clip in photobucket I'm not sure how to download it, only youtube clips... so if you can show me how to steal ur photobucket stuff or if you could upload to youtube that'd be great! Wow I wish I had more time to explore these threads!! You guys are all so adorable! hehe. I live in the midwest of the us. I literally have no accent whatsoever. No country-type one, or southern one, or anything. Some people say things such as zink for sink or farty-far for 44, but I don;t even do that.......I'm so boring. But it was so much fun watching you guys!! I  accents. Raz; you make me smile! |

Wow. I just watched ALL of these videos. Pages 1-19. The accents were awesome and some people had me cracking up. My favorite was definatly EvilWillowRocker. Sexy accent and rather attractive as well. So... I think I might post a video. I'm from east Tennessee  and have lived here all my life. My best friend who lives in Arizona thinks I have a southern accent but I'm so used to much worse that I can't really tell.  To do list for videos:Tongue Twisters Matt's Stella Paragraph A Sweedish curse word or two I'd like to make an accent challenge!!!I think we should all have to sing a song! It would be fun!  And of course you get extra points if it's in another language. ;D |

I love doing Cajun accents! I think their sexy. Actually any Louisiana accent I like. Cajun ones especially though. But I'm a Louisina Creole born and raised in California, so that explains that a bit. Irish accents and Patois accents are awesome too.

Some notes: *Everybody speaks a dialect, no matter where you're from. *Accents are simply differences in pronunciation. I'm from Vegas, and the more West you go in the United States, the more generic the dialect gets. There's pretty much just a clump of people who speak "Western English" and then moving East you get more diverse dialects (Boston alone has a good few dozen, including Eastern Black (African-American Vernacular... Ebonics... I can never remember the politically correct term for this dialect) English. But it is fun to hear different parts of the world. |

I find dialect so interesting. One of the strangest (atleast in the UK) is the black country dialect. It varies slightly in different towns across the West Midlands, but it's usually the same. The accent makes us sound like we're really stupid, but thankfully my town (Bloxwich, Walsall) isn't as bad as some of the places. Stole this from urbandictionary: "Yam gewin the wrung way! Where am yo gewin kid?" "I ay at all!" "Ye yam, yo day tek that last turnin ya saft get!" "Oh arr, soz I day realise" "yo'll atta gew back im starvin I cor wait no longer kid! And I thought I'd translate it: "You're going the wrong way! Where are you going?
"I'm not at all."
"Yeah, you are. You didn't take that last turning, you soft git."
"Oh, yeah, I didn't realise."
"You ought to go back. I'm starving. I can't wait no longer." hee |

There's a video on the first page of this thread of this woman who does like, 20 accents. She does a California accent as well. I wasn't aware that I had an accent that was noticeably different!

I'm from Massachusetts. So to the natives I have no accent. However, If someone from overseas heard me talking I'm sure to them I'd have an accent. My parents have a Boston accent so it's kind of weird that I don't have one.

I've got a really BBC-type British accent I'll try and upload it soon, but I always sound really young on sound recordings . . .
Edit: Ok I've recorded myself but I can't figure out how to upload the sound clip. Can I even upload a sound clip?
