like today, my nephew said to me "oh, it's like we're sisters" to which i replied "with really different hair!" i had to explain to everyone the buffy reference and the episode it came from, since they didn't know lol, that's gold!

I do that all the time!! haha especially after school coz theres no one home for like two hours and i put on 'slayers elegy' from the wish and i full go hard out. haha heaps good

I simply take parts of Spike's personality and infused it with my own. So I do the swagger, the smartassness, bowfinger and 'bloody hell'. But I usually dress like Angel, with the spiked hair, black clothes and leather jacket...actually, that seems a little like Spike....hmmm

Just accept your destiny, Chris. :moody: I've just thought of something too...a lot of my wardrobe is influenced by Buffy! As in: -Leather Jackets -Long jackets(I think I've got about 5 or so...all like Buffy's worn) -Claddagh ring(s) -Cross necklaces -Many types of boots similar to styles that SMG has worn Anyone else get inspiration from cast members?

I have a black leather jacket and I really want to get a leather duster, but they're so hard to get. I also wear a Claddagh ring and own Angelus' sword. I'm pretty much influenced by Angel really. Always trying to spike my hair up like his, but without the gel, lol. Gel's messy I simply take parts of Spike's personality and infused it with my own. 1/3 of my day(24 hours) is spent drifting in and out of Buffy-day-dream land. I'm not kidding. I used to pretend I was Buffy, but it got boring, so I made my own character, who goes through different adventures(and often fandoms, like X-men and Supernatural) with the characters of Buffy & Angel. Explanation: I'm bored a lot. I do the exact same thing! I've been in the same job now for 7 1/2 years, so I can do it without having to think too much. So I occupy myself by living in my head. ;D Good to hear I am not the only one who does a lot of living in my head - have done so for as long as I can remember. EDIT - sono double post. Just read all the comments. First of all - I am a mom and a grandma - and I can't wait until my granddaughter (age 7 1/2) is old enough to watch Buffy. There is so much good there - you all know it. I have the characters - action figures - and she knows who a lot of them are. Also, helps her to not judge a book by its cover as she isn't scared of the demons - I explained that some are good and some are bad, just like people. WWBD - this influences me a lot - especially when times are bad. Or what would Joyce do - suck it up and fix everything so my family is safe and okay. I feel that I am a combination of Willow, Giles and Tara - with an extra dose of Tara (love everybody, do good byall) - love the studying and loved school. Wish I had of been introduced to Buffy when I was 15 or 16 - I would so have taken martial arts and learned kick boxing and the like. But sadly, now too old and would likely break bones if I tried now. Lately my dreams include more of Spike than anyone else - and - DO NOT go down that path. Back on track. All in all - buffy gives me hope. I think she is an excellent role model. I can see aspects of my life (from teen years to adult) in the shows. They have in fact helped me cope with some of the problems life has thrown at me. I must aslo give a nod to Angel - I try to live by his code - Nothing in the world is the way it ought to be. - It's harsh, and cruel. - But that's why there's us. Champions. It doesn't matter where we come from, what we've done or suffered, or even if we make a difference. We live as though the world was what it should be, to show it what it can be.

I don't pretend to be Buffy...but sometimes I find myself talking like the Scoobies. Especially how they frequently add the suffix "-y" to the end of a noun to make it an adjective. At my workplace, its almost entirely 40+ year olds (and stuffy lawyer/law enforcement/accountant types) and they always get a good chuckle, though I don't do it intentionally and have been trying to stop

I've totally bonded with a client who is a huge Spuffy fan.

I do this all the time, especially on days when I am feeling a little down. I think how nice it would be to just crawl inside the TV and go live in Buffy's world. For instance, I think how cool it would be to live in Buffy's house (I love that house), or go hang out at The Bronze, or patrol the cometary late at night with the gang. Sometimes when I am watching I feel as though I really am a part of that world and it just kinda sucks me in. For a time it seems that I am able to just forget about whatever is bothering me and I become a part of Buffy's world, the scooby gang. And sometimes I have dreams where I am actually in the Buffy universe. On occasion, when I can't sleep for whatever reason, I close my eyes and try to imagine myself patrolling the graveyard with Buffy and the others. I find that this usually helps me drift off to sleep. I have to say that if I told my friends or family this they would probably just think I'm nuts. I've told my husband and I think he is the only one in my life that even remotely gets it. He knows what Buffy means to me. It is a comfort to have this site to come to and know that I am not alone and others won't think I'm crazy! Oh, and I am constantly using Buffy quotes in my daily life. Have been since I first started watching the show at 16. It's amazing how there is a Buffy quote perfect for every life situation! Great topic, by the way!

I used to pretend I was a vampire slayer.
I killed my sister with a stake so many times, I would even make the sound of her desintegrating into dust.

I rarely pretend to be Buffy (although whenever I was younger and my house was empty, I'd hold my saxophone upside down, strap it around my neck and stalk around my house like one of the marines from Aliens) but I do quote the show as often as possible in my day-to-day life. I find it particularly satisfying when I'm around people who aren't Buffy fans at all because around other Buffy fans I can just talk about Buffy, but around others lines from the show are the only solace I have... A particularly proud moment came recently when I was discussing with others on my uni course what we were looking to dig up on the Isle of Sheppey (i study primate evolution). They were talking about finding mud and fossils, and I chipped in with "Call me an optimist, but I'm hoping to find a fortune in gold doubloons!" I laughed to myself a lot. Anyone else manage some prime opportune Buffy line-dropping in casual conversation?

OMGOMGOMG! I seriously thought I was the only person to do this stuff. I seriously always felt like a creep for doing this stuff and I now feel so much more at peace knowing you guys do it too! But I think perhaps I might do it more but whatever! Seriously, even since watching the show at like age 7 I have been sitting there for hours memorising the moves that the characters do during fight scenes and can honestly tell you that I know all of the major ones on Buffy by heart. I remember my dad made me a stake once and I used to run around outside my house by myself pretending I was slaying vampires and I would get so into it and have dialogue and everything. And the bad thing was, I would get SO into it, I would literally be throwing myself into things and I got knicked by stuff several times. LOL. I guess it just added to the effect. But again, sadly....I still do that. I remember me and my friend Mike in like 8th grade were on his front porch and I had just got him into the show and we decided to do the Buffy and Faith fight from Graduation Day. So here we are in front of his house and again, we both got so into it that we were really throwing punches. A car stops and tries to break up the "fight". And maybe 2 or 3 years ago, I was bored sitting in my room so I was acting out the fight with Buffy and the Turok-han from Bring On The Night and when the Turok-Han slammed me into the wall, I broke my closet door. Its truly tragic that I still do this stuff, but whatever. Buffy = Life. I often have it where I make my own dialogue as well, such as today I drove my mom to a doctors appointment and as I am sitting in the waiting room, half asleep, with Buffy: The Score cranked up on my Ipod, I start to get into "Faith's End" in my head and create this whole little daydream in my head with me fighting another Slayer in the doctors office and chasing the Slayer up the stairs and onto the roof and just in time, stab her and send her off the roof. It's sad. :/ And I did something I havent done in a long time, but maybe a couple of hours ago, I was throwing some punches in my backyard. It was night and I was walking to my shed! When boredom comes, Buffy slays it! But I really do understand how people wish they could crawl into Buffy's world, as I do it too. I wish that I could hang out with my friends at the Bronze, I wish I could bend shotguns with my hands, and I sure as hell wish I was a Slayer. most stuff reminds me of buffy tho like today, my nephew said to me "oh, it's like we're sisters" to which i replied "with really different hair!" i had to explain to everyone the buffy reference and the episode it came from, since they didn't know Thats so cute and funny! HAHA I do that type of stuff all the time.

My best friend and I play around and pretend we're Faith and Buffy. We go all out and make stakes and fight each other and stuff. It's really awesome.
I also pull out a lot of quotes from the show VERY often, and people look at me and I'm like... *shrug* Hah.

I aaaaaaaaalways used to (when it was warmer) do the scene at the very start of Prophecy Girl, the season one finale, where she is fighting that vamp in slow motion for a bit and then she kicks him and stakes him on my trampoline I wanted to try it with a stake but then i was like "ooh, what if i stab myself? that could be bad..." so i just did it with a spray bottle of aerogard. lol i would full stick in my belt and be like bam bam all over the place. hahaha gooooood times *fades off into flashback moment*

I hold my hands up and say I am a kid too lol. I sometimes pretend to be a Buffy Verse character.
I also sometimes imagine my place in one of their positions and think of how I would change things and what I would do if I were them.
I dont run about the house with a stake shouting VAMPIRES BEWARE!!! though lol ;D
