It took me awhile to finally get my copy, because I was only willing to settle for the Urru cover, but it finally came today! Wanna know how excited I am about Groo being back? My guinea pig's 4th birthday is in another couple of weeks, and his name is--you guessed it--Groo. I tried to tell him about the 'other' Groo being back, but he was mostly just interested in getting at the handful of greenbeans I was holding. Oh, well, can't please everybody. Loved seeing Lorne again, and the setup he's got for himself is so perfectly 'him'. The rest of the issue seemed like just exposition and establishing stuff for #5, so it wasn't necessarily what you'd call "satisfying". But, between this series and S8, I'm coming to accept that these sorts of issues are necessary and important, to develop characters and storylines, and so it doesn't really bother me. Certainly much better than a series where it's just action-action-action every issue, where there's no depth to any of the characters, or any real understanding of what it is that they're going thru... Can't wait for #5. Please, more Groo! (The 'big' Groo, as compared to my 'little' Groo. )

Does anyone know what "April 22 1979" "I'm waiting for you" refers to? It is on the blue cover with the 2 Angels behind Angel. Faint but readable writing. Anyone got an answer to this question yet? Brian?

A quick question, has Brian Lynch done a podcast answering questions on #4 yet? I've heard the ones for 1-3, but haven't seen anything for 4 yet?

Hey, why no love for the big G? Groo was one of my favorite characters on the show, especially when he learned to use sarcasm. I'm actually hoping to see Cordelia again, too. I know, I'm a chump, but she could show up as a PTB... No?
My latest thoughts on Gunn are: W&H turned him into a vampire. No liaison or rendezvous with a face from the past was needed. If they could take away Angel's demon perpendicular from above, why couldn't they just do the same to Gunn? Hell, maybe the demon that inhabited Angel now inhabits Gunn.

I got love for Groo! I got love for Groo!
SLAYALIVE EXCLUSIVE! You wanna know how Groo became a part of ANGEL:AFTER THE FALL? It went something like this: I told Joss that I loved Groosalugg. With Lorne's story figured out, it was a natural that maybe he'd be Lorne's protector. We NEED a reason why Silverlake is safe, why not Groo?
Groo isn't in ATF a ton, but he definitely has a cool part to play. When both AFTER THE FALLses are over, I think a GROOSALUGG book wouGld rock beyond any comprehension. I can imagine not everyone agrees, but man, he's got untapped potential.

Thanks for sharing Brian! It makes sense too!
A Groo book would be absolutely amazing! I think Groo is highly underrated and I was very upset when he left.

Brian, a Groo book would be awesome !! I'd certainly buy that. It's interesting that he's got his full-on Pylean look back, because after being deposed, I never figured on him going back there. I guess I always envisioned him traveling the (American) countryside, doing good deeds and saving damsels in distress... So I'd love to see what "really" happened...

Could be, but I really think he was made the traditional way. It's meaner, because at some point he must have consented. In the beginning I thought that it might even have been Spike or Angel who turned him to keep him from falling to W&H, especially if they knew what happened to Wes.

I've thought about it being Angel or Spike too. I've thought up a bunch of far-fetched theories like Angelus and Angel are now two seperate beings and that Angelus sired Gunn and that's why he's ticked at Angel or something, idk. But Angel's demonself going into Gunn is definately something to consider.

Pft, Screw Groo. (Yay for rhymeyness)
I wanna' Beta George miniseries. Because, honestly, telepathic fish aren't represented often enough as a valid minority group in comics, and even when they are writers tend to fall back on cruel stereotypes.
It's a sad state of affairs.
Seriously, I've never been a fan of Groo. Always found him terribly annoying, but if anyone could make him at least mildly tolerable, it's Bryan.

I don't know if anybody has already mentioned this or not, but did anyone notice that the book Angel was reading from to magically heal himself was the Necronomicon book of the dead from the Evil Dead, Army of Darkness series? If that was indeed the same book, I can't think of anything cooler than Ashley J. (the chosen one) Williams to bang heads with Angel and Spike. That to me would be the cross over to end cross overs. Cheers to you.
