I know that Spike cares alot about Illyria/Fred, Im just kinda surprised Angel told George to use Spike's memoy of her, instead of his own. Seeing as he is the one who saved her.

Angel's head wasn't really in the right place for that. He was only worried about Connor and not thinking about Illyria, whereas Wesley and Spike were thinking about Fred/Illyria at the time and could be more useful.

Angel didn't tell George to use Spike's. He told George to use Wesley's. It was Wesley who said to also use Spike's memories, based on what Spike said to him in issue 10.

I have to say...that was the best issue so far in my opinion. I was hooked the whole way through. I was anticipating every single turn of the page. Groo is killed by Illyria! Connor is killed by Gunn! Illyria is taken down by W&H's army! So many things happened! And on top of all that Angel found out what his future may hold, and decided to take action, leading to the death of his son. Such good storytelling Brian. I was really impressed with this issue, you should be proud of yourself. And just so you know, I really can't wait until Issue #16!

Illyria is taken down by W&H's army! Thats the only thing I didn't like about this issue. Stunned or not, Illyria would have owned them. Hello? We're talking about Illyria, God-King of the Primordium and one of the most feared Old Ones! Nonetheless, the issue blew my mind. Brian, you never (Thanks Pat) cease to amaze me.

My Spike crush is back on after this issue. ” I've seen it act up before. Not to this scale, mind you. But I figured, even if Fred's gone and only the monster is left... Well, we all know that just because it's a monster doesn't mean we should ready the pitchforks and torches... But after all this, all these people...”
I bet that his love for Fred clouds his judgement, and perhaps he's more of a racist than this quote says, but to me, that's a good perspective. Kill the killers, not all the monsters. (Although to be fair, if it wasn't for Spike, Illyria would probably have been killing).

Well they'd grown somewhat attached to Illyria herself as well so even without Fred in the picture there would be hesitations about killing her.

Who? Fred? Coz the answer was pretty clear in Spike: AtF #4, and I can't be certain, but there might have been another reference in #14. But long story short, yep, Fred's pretty much been gone since the end of "A Hole in the World" (I think that was the ep).

I don't post a lot, I'm more of a lurker - but heck with it, I have something to say, so please bear with me. When I heard that Buffy S8 was in the works I was excited but a little skeptical, being not much of a comic book fan. But hey, Joss was overseeing and it was Buffy, so I forayed into my local comic book shop and gave it a try. And I was pleasantly surprised by how quickly I adapted, and the voices came through, and the art was entertaining, and I was emotionally invested and it totally rocked. But you know what I really wished for?
Angel.
At some point along the way, watching the shows, Angel stole my heart. I won't go into why, 'cause I really am trying to keep this short. And you'll never catch me arguing the merits of one character over another. I cherish and adore them all. It's just that I have a little soft spot for Angel, and while I thought that Not Fade Away was the absolutely perfect way to end his show, bringing it's major themes all the way home...... I still wanted to know. I still wanted more.
And then I heard about After The Fall, and was purely overjoyed; and then utterly blown away. This series has been everything I ever could have hoped it would be. It's been surprising, tragic, frightening, overwhelming. The art has been incredible. I've laughed out loud and yelped out loud. I've dreaded the last several issues with their incredibly high stakes, while counting the days between them. And now I've wept out loud. This story has wholly taken me in, and the death of Connor, so beautifully done, just about gutted me. I mean I didn't just tear up - I cried like a bitty baby. I had to read it several times before all the other amazing things in this issue could really soak in; the power walk frame, the memories of Fred, Illyria undone, Angel's timeslip, and coming out of it screaming her name (love that frame!!), all goosebumpy incredibleness trumped by the death of Angels son. The issue is still laying on my desk, 'cause I don't think I'm done with it yet, but man, that thing hurts to look at.
And I'm sure that the last two issues are only going to pile on even more momentum before a shattering conclusion. So thank you Joss. Thank you Franco and Stephen, and all the other artists who've helped bring this to life. And thank you Brian, for taking such good care of the characters I love. For making them speak again, telling their stories, and breaking my heart. This story has been a gift. Thank you thank you thank you.
And thank the rest of you for allowing me to gush shamelessly... We now return you to your regularly scheduled discussion.
I kind of doubt Illyria's actually dead...

Here's my animated reenactment for this issue: Great work on the animation. But the music choice was weird. Not exactly angsty.
