My last post on this, cos to be honest I'm tired of all this. If you deliberately do something knowing it will cause pain to tohers, and doing it with that reason at the foremost of your mind, then its sadism. Now, technically, sadism is to take sexual pleasure in inflicting pain but if we stretch the popint its not that far off. But anyway, that's my last post on this issue. possibly any issue. You are taking this WAY too seriously. You should realize (and it would probably relieve some of your pain) that Tara was not a real person but a ficticious character. Therefore Joss Whedon was entitled to do WHATEVER he wished with her. It has nothing to do with sadism. It's storytelling. |

Ouch. Bad move, Mat. i'm not saying you're stupid, and i respect your opinion even if i don't agree with it. You are, however, taking this whole situation a little personal. maybe we should ask Amber about this. someone message her on Twitter. I havnt got her twitter yet it would be really nice to have her opinion. it's amber_benson i believe. i'd message her, but i already did the whole Q and A with her, and she's probably sick of me bothering her. Sorry I really didn't mean to offend Ambersknight.... although I think he was upset before I even posted.
That said, I don't see how you guys can disagree with what I said. It is storytelling, Joss has the right to kill any characters whenever he wants, the way he wants.

Yes I know we were not being offensive at all. Maybe he was upset about other stuff also.
But what bothers me most is that I was arguing with him earlier on a different thread and I said 'sorry' because I thought I was being too harsh.
And he replied 'you wernt being too harsh, you were just voicing your opinion'.
And yet he goes and does this.

Can everyone please remember to be respectful to each other? If something offends you, walk away for a while before coming right back, swinging. This thread just grew 2.5 pages today alone, and it's mostly heated back and forths.
