the first thing i thought of when i read "freak out and angry"... Tara. That seems to be the most controversial topic in season 8: will Tara come back or won't she... that's that i think it is. or it could be the reveal of twilight in which case: yay!

While I would love to see Tara I hope it isn't about her. Tara is dead and I think that is best. The only way I really want to see her back is maybe an issue from the afterlife with just her, Anya, Joice, and maybe Jenny. That would be a nice issue to see there reaction to everything happening in the world and to check up on their loved ones.

Why do I have a feeling that Oz or his baby Mama are gonna die?
It would be JUST like Joss to have their little family get ripped apart, just like they've done about a dozen times on the show (and once in the comic).

I'm actually expecting Bay to die, at this point.

I'm actually expecting Bay to die, at this point. With the way Scott has been talking, I'm not sure there's anybody I'm not expecting to die, at this point.

I think Oz is going to die at the end. His arc will be finished it seems by the end of this.

IT would be really anitclimactic for them to bring him back ad kill him. I mean it could happen...but what about the possible Oz and baby one shot..

I'm definitely expecting Twilight to be revealed in this issue. I think it was in one of those Jeanty video interviews that he alluded Twilight would be revealed before the very end of the season so we could see the consequences of Twilight's identity, and how the scoob's react. Not saying it will happen, I don't know for sure, but I'm definitely expecting it. Plus all this "grab your torch and pitchfork" talk by Allie, I don't think we'll be too happy with the reveal.
I also expect it to be Willow-heavy, but not necessarily containing the betrayal. That should be in the thick of battle, right before Buffy comes up with an ingenious plan to deal with Twilight against all odds.

Considering that Joss has decided to write #31 himself, I'm guessing there's some very sensitive story point right there he wants to make sure is handled exactly the way he wants it.
I think the biggest bombshell of the season will be in #30... but I'm not certain Twilight's identity is the biggest bombshell of the season.

Fair 'nuff. It's just that interest in the mystery of Twilight is beginning to wane... many are resigned to wait it out instead of speculating anymore than we already have. Remember, after 30, there will only be two 5-issue arcs left. I can only hope that his reveal happens with time enough to explore the implications of his identity. IT would be really anitclimactic for them to bring him back ad kill him. I mean it could happen...but what about the possible Oz and baby one shot.. When was this mentioned?

Technically, one 4-issue arc, and possibly a 5-issue arc, provided no more standalones. Scott confirmed that #31 is not part of Meltzer's arc in the Q&A for #27.

Oh, my bad. For some reason I was thinking the break was going to be an actual break, not just a stand alone, like with Tales. But still, 10 issues.
So it'll go: #31 Willow Stand-alone (by whom?) #32-35 Meltzer Arc #36-40 Whedon Finale Arc
right?

Is the Willow stand-alone part of Season 8's numbering? I thought it was a separate issue from #31.

No, #31 is different from the Willow one-shot. Joss is writing both.

No, #31 is different from the Willow one-shot. Joss is writing both. No wonder I was confused! Trying to get this straight... #30 in Nov Non-numbered Willow one-shot in Dec #31 standalone in Jan then Meltzer's 4-issue #32-35 arc picking up again in Feb?

Perfecto. Yeah, the Willow standalone is a separate entity... which does kinda confuse things a wee bit. But as far as we know, that list looks accurate.

maybe the bombshell will have something to do with Willow and Saga vasuki. I wouldn't be surprised to see a reveal like that and then do the backstory( willow one shot) to better cement it in our brains.

I'm betting Saga Vasuki will be explained in the Willow one-shot, along with Kennedy's mystical death.
We'll see if my theory is correct... that Kennedy had to die temporarily to serve as a "human sacrifice" allowing Willow to get in touch with SV.

Didn't they mention something about that in shells (Angel season 5) ? That she was on the Astral plane?
