I can't think of anything that made me cringe, although there probably are some cringe worthy moments. I will have to keep an eye out for them while I watch later. Interesting thread idea  |

Buffy almost getting raped.
The gnarl eating Willow.
Buffy and Spike kissing(I just think about how Buffy cries in Tara's lap, and about Spike's suffering too)
Any time Willow mind-violated anyone.

Just off the top of my head, the one line that always makes me cringe...
"Fly, my pretty, fly!" from the Dark Willow arc. Cringey line, and Alyson Hannigan's delivery of the line is terrible.

Joss Whedon said he felt dirty writing Angel taunting Buffy in "Innocence," like "My god, I can't believe this is coming out of my pen." Whoever wrote that Parker line from "The Initiative" must have felt the same way. I mean, the line worked and it served its purpose, but at the same time, ick.

Hannigan's performance as Dark Willow - sorry, that character just didn't work for her Xander's "Faster pussy cat kill kill" line most definitely agreed i only really cringe at lines, like the way they're said, or if they're just pointless and stupid in Lovers Walk (i think), when Oz gives Willow her pez, the way she asks "what's the occasion?" just bugs me oh, i never understood why Dawns "get out" line annoys so many people i actually like it |

It wasn't the line itself, but it was her shrill voice that probably did it. I actually like Dawn as a character, but I didn't like her whiny-ness.
I got some more. I'm rewatching Season Two and I seriously cannot stand Xander's jokes. I was so happy for Giles when he said "ENOUGH XANDER!" But Xand still made with the jokes later on in the season. Am I the only one who never laughs at his jokes?
Oh and I also cringe when Buffy walks away from a downed villain when she could KILL THEM RIGHT THERE AND BE DONE WITH IT.

Right off top of my head. You guessed it the bathroom scene in Seeing Red. Not a good time for Spuffy fans. Willow and Xander kissing scenes. I love both of the characters, but NO, NO, NO to them kissing.

The Katrina scene tops my list.... I can't watch that. Spike threatening to put a broken bottle through Willow's face. Angelus nailing puppies to the wall. The image alone makes me say, "No! Not the puppies!" Anything involving lots of little bugs-- like that bug man from S2. Ah, what else? Oh Kendra... I loved Kendra! She was a fighter, and I didn't like how easily she died. What else made me cringe? Ah, I know-- Parker/Buffy. Ew.

Da Letter Jay, I'm curious, what kind of responses were you originally after?
Things that make people cringe because they were painfully badly done? (If that's it, I actually can't think of anything -- Buffy was blissfully free of such moments, especially compared to, say, the Star Trek franchise.)
Or things that make you cringe because they're supposed to make you cringe?
