I've been partial to Willow-Kennedy myself but even I can see the writing on the wall. Kennedy is rebound. Sorry if this sounds harsh but the truth can hurt sometimes. In my opinion Kennedy isn't the one for Willow. There are two possible alternatives to Kennedy and one of them is evil but definitely obsessed with Willow. I'm not referring to Aluwyn.

Nah Willow needs someone like Kennedy to keep her grounded. She's hardly the nice little computer girl we met back in season 1 and we've all seen what heppens when she goes off the rails. IMO Kennedy and Willow are very much equal. She can stand up for herself and to Willlow when needed. Tara and Willow had a very different love so I don't really see how people can compare the two. But yes of course I prefer Willow and Tara but I also at the smae time love Kennedy and Willow, both very differnet and theri relationship will go to other places that Willow and Taras never could. I believe that Tara was Willows 'true love' but just like in real life tragic things happen. Willow was fortunate enough to be able to move on and keep Taras love with her. Just because you lose someone doesn't mean the other person shouldn't be able to move on. Willow and Kennedy chose eachother and I think they are very nice/unique couple.

We'll see. Willow seemed awfully wistful when she replied to Buffy's query about what "happened" to Kennedy. "It's been 200 years. What do you think happened?" About the two other possibilities? One of them is Amy. The other one...well, if the other one comes to pass - this one would get a big thumbs up I think. She calls Willow "Red".

Barnes & Noble carries the trade paperbacks. Currently you should be able to buy the collections of Long Way Home, No Future For You, Wolves at the Gate, Time of Your Life, and Predators & Prey. Retreat is on the way, should be out in February-ish.

Well i'm not sure where you live, but first you should check out if there's any comic book stores in your area, more than likely there's the Willow one shot and Buffy comics in the stores. Other than that, I recommend buying it online from Things From Another World.com

I received my copy yesterday and have as of yet read it once - with slight disappointment. Some of the dialogue is over the top - I especially dislike the cascade of song titles while Willow fights the black demigod. And I was disappointed to see how it ended: Willow choosing Aluwyn as her guide, and this is it. Maybe we will get some more explanation later, re: Kennedy's mystical death and Willow's journey - it feels like the first of a two-parter to me. But it can't be bad if I want to have more, no?

It's a one-shot, and therefore has to be condensed for a tale like this. I don't think there are any more plans for more of this. However, because the material is so dense, it takes several reads to fully appreciate it. Emmie and I both posted detailed reviews on this issue over at the blog, and Emmie, IMO, does a commendable job on the whole close reading thing, including some thoughts on the song cascade. Perhaps when you're done reading it through once more, you could check out those thoughts, and see if it makes the issue better for you.

Wenxina, I have already read your reviews, and I love those indepth analyses. I know there is no other part planned, I was just wondering whether maybe there will be any reveals during the rest of season 8, maybe in the way Anywhere But Here worked. I have always gained more enjoyment upon second, third and fourth readings and I'm sure it will also happen with this issue. Thank you for caring

Well, Scott said that there'll be more to Willow's magic happening, so yeah, I guess we'll find out a bit more... possibly about Aluwyn and all. Probably not to everyone's satisfaction, but then again, it's pretty hard to satisfy everyone.

Probably not to everyone's satisfaction, but then again, it's pretty hard to satisfy everyone. I think it's possible they could fit in another one shot about Willow. I don't believe this is off the table. The reason I say this is because whatever happens...Willow is in the thick of it. There's so much going on right now with Twilight and all...that I believe an editorial decision will be made to clarify everything with another one shot. I really, really doubt they can fit it all into 40 issues. However, another option would be to increase the number of panels per issue. This would raise the price of the comic book. So I think they're going to have to make a decision on this. The oddly worded comment that Season 9 will be "shorter" or "tighter" suggests Season 9 is really Season 8 in digested format. If that's true...I don't see why they can't take another breather to gather everything up and put a bow on with another one shot. We need a primer on what may happen in the finale. Continuing the serial format now with everything juggling up in the air risks causing some plot points to falter..maybe even affect the conclusion of Season 8. Anyway, it's just my opinion.

The things Scott has said strongly suggest a lot of exploration of Willow's magic will wait for season 9.
I doubt very much they'd increase the pages (and price) of the comic at this point, considering its circulation has been steadily falling and they're hoping to reverse that trend with Meltzer and Joss's arcs.

I find it hard to believe Joss would need to be worried about the falling circulation numbers. DHC has stated that the Buffy comic is the best part of their lineup. Plus this puts too much credit on the falling numbers and makes the circulation issue the reason for making Twilight who he is. Joss had the Twilight reveal in his head for more than 4 years. He's sticking with his plan no matter what. This is his story.

It's still DH's best-selling comic, but it's down over 50% from its debut. It would not be good business sense to raise the price, and thereby drive sales down more, just to stick in more stuff about Willow that isn't directly relevant to the story.

I read multiple stories about this one-shot "Goddesses and Monsters" being included into a TPB and NOT being included into a TPB because the first one-shot wasn't added either.
I figured this is the best spot to ask clearness about this subject. Is this one-shot included in the upcoming TPB (Volume 7) because this one-shot is sorta semi-important to S8's storyline right!?

Scott Allie's confirmed the Willow one-shot will be in the "Twilight" trade paperback (vol. 7).

I re-read the Willow one-shot twice the past few days and my love is growing. The only passage that really bothers me now is when Willow asks in a small voice "I have a wound?", as if she were surprised. If she was supposed to be surprised, I would consider this not so good writing - could she really be surprised after all that has happened to her? The death of Tara, wreaking havoc as Dark Willow, killing Warren, nearly ending the world? On the other hand, maybe she just never thought of the remaining pain as a(n open) wound.
Anyway, looking forward to my next re-read. I'm sure I'll discover some more awesomeness.

I have only just got round to reading this and I was a tad disappointed, and I really don't want to be. I thought the story was a bit bland and didn't really bring anything to season 8 imo, but the actual drawings and colours were beautiful. Maybe with a re-read it will grow on me.

^^ I agree, I thought it would explain a lot more than it did. I got all worked up "We'll know if she's cheating, how she learned to fly, what she did during those 6 months, why she goes evil in the future, etc etc". So yeah, compared to my expectations and hopes, bland.
