Updated with issue title "Turbulence"
After reading #30, I think Willow may cause ripples in Buffy's flying path.

Well lookit that - my first question for Scott and it turns out to be a good one. Now I'm ecstatic - I think this is a good turning point for the series.

I have a strong feeling that at least one character from the bunch will be found dead by Buffy and it will set off some new found power; if not, someone will still be found dead. I am thinking maybe Dawn or Xander ... possibly both. But I wish its not Xander. Seeing as Buffy seems "completely in love" with the guy ... its probably him.

The first cover is awesome. The second one is greattoo, but I'm just still dealing with the Dawn and Xander thing. nd for now I am going to do everything possible NOT to read the spoiler. Nope not me I'm going somewhere else. I'm probably not even going to peak.

Looks like this issue has now been bumped back a week to January 13.
Not particularly happy about that.

Well that sucks. I hope they don't bump #32 as well, though the delay for this issue was probably a late script.

I think Allie likes his first Wednesday of the month schedule too much to bump any more issues back. Pushing #31 back by a bit kinda evens out the wait time between issues. About 3 weeks on either side of #31.

Preview added to first post, in the spoiler tags. Nice work, finding these... this is a little sooner than anticipated. Hmmm... Willow seems to be talking in riddles again... again with the time travel. The last time we saw Willow with giant poofs of green, it was in "ToYL" at the end, at least I think that's what it looked like. Must go check. But she's now referencing some event that happened in the future ("It hasn't happened yet.") and it sounds like she knows how she got her power back. At the moment, I'm guessing the ripples from FDW's death in "ToYL" are finally hitting the present shore in time. That's why FDW had to die in the future. Buffy's newfound powers were possibly the result of the first waves of that ripple. If that's the case, the whole jaunt into the future is definitely better than a lot of critics have given it credit for. The strange thing about this preview is... it doesn't seem like the Scoobies are captive anymore. But the goddesses are still stomping about. And Buffy's still hiding her newfound powers. I'm guessing we're being dropped right into another in media res situation...?

Yeah, it was a bit jarring because the last image we have besides Buffy flying in #30 was Giles being taken away with a few others. So that feels more like panic-inducing scenario, not let's fly around for kicks in secret and let's have a nice conversation with Oz about how badly we feel. Expressing guilt is appropriate when crisis-mode has disengaged, but... aren't they still in crisis? With many of their people dead and many others captured and then others still dying underneath the Goddesses feet?
But besides that - I find myself being pulled into the story completely. So looking forward to this.

Yeah I also found it a bit odd that there wasn't any scrambling about how to save everyone that was captured. The tone in the preview was the exact opposite of that, as if no one has even been captured (we still have to see how it all plays out anyway).
Except for that though, very interesting preview. Buffy's thought about how her flying feels so natural is interesting, not because she has hated it in the past, but because "natural" is a term she would probably use to describe her old Slayer powers. They came natural to her, just like her newfound abilities seem to be. It raises some interesting questions about destiny in an "all roads lead to here" type of way. Cool.
If Willow got her powers back as a result of FDW Willow dying at the end of TOYL, then that is just awesome.

Could it be that the captured have escaped on their own somehow? And I wonder what would make Twilight back off in the first place. Goddesses, sure...but why wouldn't he come for Willow, Oz, Buffy, and the ones who were not captured. Who was captured for sure? Giles, Faith and Dawn?
In a war you go for the leader.

But besides that - I find myself being pulled into the story completely. So looking forward to this. I think I wept when I read the writing... it's been so long since a Joss issue, and if my guess is right, then it's rather fitting that his first return to the series is to address the events of the last arc he wrote. Bah! Damn these happy tears! And art... is making me

I do think that Willow getting a surge of power is the second ripple, the first being the portal opening in the first place.
I hope it will be explained -why- Willow's power has the ability to travel backwards and forwards throughout time from the point when it was released by Buffy killing FDW. I find it hard to grasp why and how any energy or magical power would travel through time on it's own in a linear fashion.

Just checked. FDW's death scene involved green smoke and green crackling energy. And her eyes glowed greenish... coincidence? Methinks not so much. Awesome sauce? Probably, with more to come.

Bah! Damn these happy tears! And art... is making me Yeah, I didn't want to overplay that but... gah. Joss so completely conveyed Buffy in so few words. And Willow & Oz - he wrote Willow & Oz - awww. Someone mentioned the possibility that the Willow & Oz scene is a flashback because Willow is seen being escorted away by the army guys at the end of #30. (Was that Willow? I don't have my issue handy to check it.) But then if she has her powers back, the army couldn't get her. She could just transport away, nuff said. So I'm still not sure why this bit feels so jarring. But it's a preview, so I'm not overly worried. Still just happy to have Joss writing. And I'm so excited for Wednesday! ETA: Xi, I think you're dead-on. This is probably why Joss felt it was imperative he write this issue. Because it deals with the fallout of ToYL as well as introduces Buffy's crazy change in circumstances.
