Honestly, and I've only seen the preview, but the voices don't bother me. Its still Buffy, IMO. Its still the character, and even though when I read the comic, I picture SMG's voice, and NB's voice for Xander, I'm not bothered by the change. I really enjoyed how it looked, and the angles and effects, looks amazing!
Its definately something I'd like to own on DVD. XD

The balance has been tipped, because that certain amount of good power was not meant to be spread out to so many -- therefor tipping the scales.

WOW! Thanks!!
I tried to channel Jeanty's work to make it consistant. I'll try and hand in some of my own style works, but I'm really liking the way Jeanty draws Buffy -- at least in most issues. I'm working on the second one right now actually! Thanks again, really glad you enjoyed the cover!! XD

8x01 - The Long Way Home [part one]THE THING ABOUT CHANGING THE WORLD, ONCE YOU DO IT THE WORLD'S ALL DIFFERENT - Buffy and co. take down a demonic trio of beasts, only to discover a frightening symbol; the mark of Twilight. Meanwhile, as Dawn struggles to talk to her sister about why she's suddenly a giant; the government, or at least a faction of it, discover something in the remains of Sunnydale!! NOTE: I drew Buffy Summers in this one, the colouring is a little messy but hey, not trying to be a professional colourist, LMFAO!! I drew Buffy in my scrapbook, scanned it, coloured it, and made a cover. Hope you enjoy!! Please tell me what you think! This is my Georges Jeanty Variant cover. Jo Chen like one will be next.

I think Bill is kind of out of line here. I mean, sure, things may have been said that could be read out of context, but the way he is expressing himself in that letter just makes me want to say "Hey, you didn't create Angel, now did ya, eh?!"
I must say, I would take these Buffy comics over the Angel ones any day (but I really miss After the Fall -- such great dialogue and creative work done on the writers/illustrators part!)

Uhm, now that I've taken a calm look of things and just finished watching the new Dollhouse episode, my faith in Joss has been restored. I think Angel being Twilight will make for a great last story to this season, and can't wait to see what he does next.
Joss Whedon, you're the stuff of legends!! XD

If Angel is in fact Twilight than I think this season's overal theme is pretty clear "Relationships". All the little links between each character, they're relationship with one another, friendship, to love, all that stuff. I think his motive doesn't match, but a lot of our suggestions didn't have viable reasons for Angel to be Twilight. I still think its not true, but that's just me -- it would have to be a top notch story for me to come back after this arc or season 9 for that matter.
Angel being back on Buffy as a main villain or being in it at all makes me severely disappointed in the writers and Joss Whedon. For crying out loud, come up something original. Yes, I'm pissed off, but I have a right. Angel or Angelus, I mean for crying out loud GIVE ANOTHER CHARACTER THE SPOTLIGHT FOR A CHANGE!! Angel and Buffy share something beautiful but its finished. She's got to move on!!
Can someone tell me if its been officially confirmed yet? So that I can start my rambling rant on OFFICIAL TWILIGHT SPECULATION THREAD lmao!!??

How are you guys exactly positive that its Angel. Or is that why the list is there, so that if its not him, you can take away the karma??

I don't think its Spike -- but I do believe the artists have been informed to draw these new covers as if it were him, to mess with us. I think a LOT of people are dying for it to be Spike, or believe it to be him. But I have never thought it was Spike. If its either Angel or Spike, I would be completely turned away from this season. I think the shock factor will not be as to Buffy being all "Oh my god, its you!" as to being "Why did you do all of this?" And the shock factor will be us thinking the exact same thing. Why that person? What led them down this road?
I think its ETHAN RAYNE. He brought up the issue of Twilight in the first arc. And he had several connections to the army and the initiative, especially RILEY, having been taken away by them in season 4. But how did he end up in the new facility? He was in on it all. He is Twilight -- Giles is the Mole.

After reading this issue, it got me thinking. What if Buffy is on a similar journey about her power deep down. But did it the easy way. And the guide she was given was Twilight. Where she learnt she has darkness inside of her. That all that has been happenning is due to the power she has/or doesn't have. Just me trying to make something out of nothing.
I enjoyed this issue - best tara drawing ever. But I don't want this artist to take over season 9. Jeanty is SOOO much better.

Did anybody else see Alpha turn into full on joker this episode from the dark knight. Even the backing music of the "joker's reveal" is playing constantly throughout. And the vests!! OMG! Alpha became even more awesome!! XD
This episode reminded me of Dark Knight. All of it. From Ballard and Boyd pairing up to solve the trail of clues; to track down Alpha. The big "Blast" part. It was so clearly seen it was inspired by that movie. I think it done wonders for the character of Alpha. XD

Each season, its always had Buffy prevail, in some way. Even through death, or the result of her death, the battle had been won on her side; and she left with clarity, knowing it was her time, and her side had prevailed! Do you think that this season will go about like the first few seasons, where she fought the big bad and, though a tough fight, won in the end? Or will it end with a possible first defeat with Buffy - not saying she will die, but she just won't win.
My Opinion: I really think this is another one of those seasons where Buffy will find the strength in the end, out of all her doubts and fears, and will stop Twilight. But I think the fight will end with some defeat on her part. Either losing some friends, or the battle dawning more depression or revelations on her part that stick with her for life - and change her forever.

I bet that the writers sit in their little room or what not and discuss "who should we make the audience think Twilight is this week?" And have a lot of fun doing it. I really think Angel and Spike are out of the question. I'm sorry to all those people who speculate it and stuff, but it just seems so far stretched. And honestly if it was one of them, it'd be so predictable seeing as its the two people she's had a relationship with (the other being part of the gang now). I really do think its Ethan Rayne, and the new interview with Scott Allie saying he gets his power from his followers, and when they are taken away, Twilight becomes an easy target.
I can just have this clear image of Twilight's plan backfiring onto him, and all his followers don't believe in him anymore. Therefor, the connection he shares through all the symbols disappears as they possibly rid themselves of the mark, and he is left alone and all hateful of Buffy. Sort of like a smallville-ish kinda thing. "I gave them a symbol of hope. You took that away from them!" And with Twilight enraged, his fighting won't be so top notch as it was in A Beautiful Sunset.

Is there any chance that these new 2 hour events could boost the ratings so much that it stays on the air. I know they've come out and said its cancelled but, I mean, since episode 4 of season 2, this season has just risen so much into my fan favourite. I usually am against FOX, but I'm one who applauds there decissions they've made throughout this series' run. I mean, they've given a failing show a second season, aired two episodes together as a 2 hour event, taking up more space. And I think they're trying to show Joss and us fans that they aren't complete assholes as we thought they were...

He also sort of looks like Richard Wilkins. That's what I first got from it. Then I thought, GILES, and was like Oh no ... not spike. So IDK. I think the hair looks that colour due to the background, the lighting and all that. I would SO laugh if Twilight didn't have a face.

Here is a little overview I made for the episode. I will be making them all now for the whole season, but thought I should just place this in this particular thread because:
A) It contains spoilers on the comic. Which everyone in here, by now, has read. B) It is based on this certain issue.
I hope you enjoy it, feedback would be lovely!!
