Season 7 has promise but it needed to be more fleshed out. It starts fine, but once the potentials show up it gets messy. If I did season 7, Kennedy wouldn't even exist. Willow doesn't need a relationship that soon, she's fine alone.
Anyone hate that they hang out at Buffy's house nonstop season 7? That set got a lot of use. Got tired of sitting in that house. The guardian appearing out of no where living in the graveyard was garbage too.
Buffy's nonstop speeches got old, and I'm sorry, but I can only take so much Andrew. Why oh why is he part of the group. And why is it Buffy gets destroyed by a uber vamp early on, but in Chosen everyone is beating them down like they are barely a threat?
And the Joyce/First Evil bit with Dawn didn't go anywhere. I waited all season for something to happen. I wasn't even sure it was the First Evil for a long time. It wasn't clear to me until the writers said so in interviews. It could of been addressed on the show better.

Very good season. But not perfect. Buffy Vs. Dracula, Triangle, and The Weight of the World aren't so hot. And I like Dawn. People call her whiny, and she can be........but it doesn't bother me. I enjoy the Buffy/Dawn sister relationship.
Even though Buffybot is kind of funny at times, it's also a little absurd. It's kind of hard to convince friends or family to enjoy this show when moments like that occur. It's eye rolling. And also the snake in Shadow looks terrible and also when Buffy rides it, it's embarrassing to watch.
Season 5 is the last great year of the show.

It's difficult to choose just one, there's so many bad episodes. I'd say the entire middle of season 6 is a travesty. Smashed, Wrecked, Gone, Doublemeat Palace, Dead Things, Older and Far Away, As You Were, Hells Bells, etc. UGH!
Other bad episodes: Teachers Pet, I Robot, You Jane, Inca Mummy Girl, Some Assembly Required, Bad Eggs, Killed by Death, Beer Bad, Doomed, Where the Wild Things Are, Buffy Vs. Dracula, Triangle, The Weight of the World, All the Way, Him, The Killer in Me, Empty Places, Touched. And more sadly.
And Living Conditions is awesome by the way.

Hellbound, sadly there's a lot of those "things" in the comics. I always forget to check the Q&A's since they moved them, thanks for the reminder.

Isn't Faith the main slayer? I mean....Buffy died, then Kendra was in, then she died, and Faith was activated and she carries it forward now. So why is Buffy getting all the powers? I'm sure I'm missing something obvious.

Whoa, another good issue? The comics aren't sucking anymore thankfully and it's back on track. I like how much dialogue was packed into 22 pages.
I'm over Andrew, the less of him the better. And the red stick figure drawings? Even I could do that......pretty rough work there. Otherwise the rest of the art was solid. And I don't know if I love that Buffy can run so fast, or how they travel all over the world in a heartbeat. It's too much. Makes the world feel so small.
I wouldn't call the revelation of how Buffy got her powers mindblowing, but it's a fine reveal. Don't hate it. I'm happy it was somewhat surprising.
Pretty excited about the next issue, and that's not something I usually feel about Buffy lately.

The Chen cover all the way. I almost always like her work. I don't see cheese anywhere in her cover. Jeanty's on the other hand.......

Disappointed in the way it was revealed, and somewhat disappointed in who Twilight is. After a couple years, I just wanted to be able to find out within the comic itself and flip the page and take it all in.

Been a few months, guess I'll say where I'm at now. I've enjoyed some of it, but I'm frustrated by most of it, especially lately. Even the pay offs are lackluster like with Dawn and the thricewise. Years for that moment, and yet it was resolved so simply, so plainly.
2009 was the year the comics derailed the most, right in January with Harmony. I still say the first eleven issues of the comic were great though.
WATG is where I started asking WTF is going on whether it was Batsu, Xander and Dracula, or Mecha Dawn. Just so WTF. I know a lot of people love that arc, but it's a bit insane to me. And I hate Buffy Vs. Dracula, why would I want to see more of him?
2010 I believe will be a good year though. Issue 31 alone is enough to give me hope.

I liked it. Xander and Dawn being in love is a tad weird, but it doesn't bother me too much. I wish we'd get more character moments because the Buffy/Xander stuff was nice. So it's a way better start than last year. 2009 was pretty bad in general though.
Funny how quickly Buffy got over Xander and Dawn, but I guess that's how comics go. Almost like a sitcom where everything gets resolved quickly and it's all tidy.
I thought Willow was captured though. Wasn't that her being hauled away in issue 30? Maybe I'm wrong, been awhile since I've read it.

wenxina, the difference is the famous real people aren't just being talked about, they are actually in the panels, and they are discussing Buffy and vampires. It's strange.
The pop culture references on Buffy the TV show were quick and not nearly as distracting, especially with a 44 minute episode not being eaten up by those references. In the comic, sometimes they are based around them entirely like Harmony on the Colbert show. It's just dumb. But to each their own.

Harmony snaps her fingers and all vampires obey? Yeah sure. Don't you think it's time for things to make sense and come together? And seeing Olbermann talk about Buffy is just absurd to me and takes me out of the story. Can't help it. I'd rather they not use real people, it's distracting and annoying. The writing wasn't bad, it's just the idea that bothers me. I guess I'll never like the vamps are popular storyline.

If they were going to spoil it all along, why wait this long? They couldn't wait 2 more months? Why not just tell us 2 years ago? Huge mistake. It's a complete WTF to me. I can't wait till season 8 is over and done with at this point. Just constant disappointment.
I remember how excited I was for the first eleven issues, all enjoyable reads. Now much of it reads like fan fiction, and I hate saying that because I want to enjoy it so much more than I am lately.

I hope this is a joke. But then again.....the comics have been pretty silly the last two years.

I really like the art and I wish Moline could do more for season 8. Jeanty's work looks rushed lately. Everything else was a little underwhelming. But I expected that. The pet names annoy me, and the cutsey dialogue can get a little tiring if it's used constantly.
Is Willow really that open to just walk around naked in front of others? Maybe I'm blanking, but that doesn't feel like the Willow I know. Or used to know at least, because I can't figure out who these characters are lately.
So the issue was okay. I didn't hate it.

The Jo Chen cover is kind of weak, and I almost always like her art. The covers are about the same quality as the comic itself lately. Disappointing.

I saw two preview pages up for this issue, which is strange because we haven't seen anything from issue 31 yet right? They aren't colored in yet, and I have no idea what's going on, but I'm intrigued.

wenxina, are you saying people never mature, learn from past mistakes, and grow? We are all trapped in a cycle? Buffy will never learn valuable lessons from poor past decisions?

rogue, I agree. All of these little things are starting to add up and it's hurting the story. We just have to hope it all comes together in the next 10 issues.
What I really hope is season 9 will be small scale and more intimate and not so over the top and unrelatable, and season 8 is Whedon just going overboard because he can and never had the money to do that on the show. And after he gets that out of his system, he'll get back to what fans really liked about Buffy to begin with.

Yeah you'd think at some point Buffy would wise up and mature mentally and stop making these absurd and bad decisions. Will she never learn from her past mistakes?
