I think ultimately it'll be good to purely focus on the story though. Let it unfold.

Sounds like we ticked him off a bit. I wonder if he might be persuaded to do a couple special ones down the road... maybe one during the looooong summer hiatus (4 full months between regular issues), and maybe one when the season is over? With the questions screened to avoid repetition.

I am really happy about the Riley one-shot, I hope that Sam is in it.

^^Edit- Hey, I just said that. Lol. I think he's not answering any more this time around. But there's still next month. ETA: ACK! I stand corrected. Just finished reading his latest, Q&A, and it does sound that way. But hey, Riley Finn one-shot in August. That's good right? Since a lot of people have been wondering about how he got roped into all this. Hope we can see what happen between him and his wife or at least mention it. She was kinda cool.

I don't think Scott's angry. Just tired. It's been a hellacious couple of months here in fandom--I know I've felt like I needed to take a step back recently (A/C, I know you felt that way too). Scott's been receiving all kinds of fandom input from all quarters (emails, letters) in addition to this Q&A. It's a tough job.

I don't know what will happen next. But everyone should know by now that Scott is a friend to the forum, and we will probably do something with his help again either before the Season ends, or maybe after.
It will not be a Q&A, but it will be something we hope! *wink*
And then there's also Season 9 to look forward to...

Anyone have any thoughts on this oddly laconic answer? I always just assumed Renee regretted not having told Xander she loved him, but could it be something else? Or was Scott just saying he didn't know exactly what Joss/Drew had in mind?

Scott Allie at ECCC 2010. Watch HERE. So, Season 9 will not be called "Season 9". At least, that's what it sounds like. They are following up the Season 8 story, and Joss will be involved. Guess this may have something to do with a reorganizing the structure of the story, so that it flows better as a comic. ETA: Just an FYI, this is just part 1. So we'll definitely hear more on what this really means.

Interesting stuff from Scott Allie. Too bad about the 3 month break though... I guess this is reminiscent of the TV series with Buffy taking the summer off, but in this case we will be waiting to find out how everything ends. I hope that the current arc doesn't leave us too in the dark before the break.

Well if that wasn't an epic cliffhanger lol....
3 month break does suck though, but it will be nice to get the Wash and Riley one-shots, and it sounds like #36 and A Shepherd's Tale will be out on the same day, so that's awesome.

So 2011 will be the Year of Joss at Dark Horse, sounds like. I'm eager to hear these announcements that will be trickling out over the summer... maybe we'll have something to talk about for those 3 months after all.
As for his "don't call it season 9" comment (and why would they cut the vid off in the middle of a sentence like that?) I suspect it may be because it won't follow a strict linear format like a regular season. Maybe it will be a series of self-contained arcs dealing with whomever is still alive after season 8.

It's only Part 1, so Part 2 should come with the missing chunk... I hope. Yeah, I just wonder why they couldn't have split the video after he'd finished the most interesting sentence of the presentation. And I hope part 2 starts seamlessly and not with a few seconds missing... I did like hearing his assurance that even those of us who aren't happy with current story developments will be satisfied with the end of the story. Of course there's no guarantee that I'll agree with his definition of a good conclusion, but there never is.

Well, a cliffhanger like that will guarantee that many of us will be adding them on Twitter, and checking their site for updates, so I'm guessing it was intentional.

The audio wasn't the best in the video, but I'm pretty sure Scott said that it was out the first of September. Can anyone else confirm (I'm at work )?

He said September... meaning it should be out around the same time as Buffy #36 and the start of Joss's final arc.

Yeah, he did say September. The second, if I remember the interjection correctly. I just meant that previously, it sounded like the Book graphic novel was only coming out in November. Hence, the yay!

Scott Allie on Twitter:
So season 9 will be even bigger in scope than season 8? That will annoy a lot of people. (Not me.)

Scott Allie on Twitter: So season 9 will be even bigger in scope than season 8? That will annoy a lot of people. (Not me.) As a follow-up to the TFAW.com recording, HERE's a CBR article (that really needs editing by the person who posted it!) that pretty much reports the same thing AC just posted from Scott's Twitter account. However... I'm seeing a possible flipside... instead of the scope getting bigger, it's possible that it's getting smaller, as has previously been mentioned. I'm guessing it'll be a bunch of smaller projects that will eventually build into a bigger cohesive story. Kinda like what Joss did with Astonishing X-Men, where he pretty much had something like 3 or 4 smaller arcs, which kinda built into a larger story, but each arc was a little more independent in comparison to the arc structure of S8.

"Scope" leads me to believe that we might be spanning multiple years (in the Buffyverse). It'll be exciting to see what he means though.
