Sweet. That makes more sense, lol. It looks like he's won a few Eisner awards for his work on the Fable comics. I haven't read those, unfortunately.
I've actually read some of his stuff: Pantheon, Day of Vengeance, Legends of the Dark Knight (though I'm not sure which one he wrote), and Shadowpact.
Pantheon and Shadowpact were great. Day of Vengeance was okay - nothing to write home about, but it didn't suck. And I'm not sure what exactly he wrote on LotDK.
So yeah. I have high hopes for this one... but I'm not really sure if it'll be great. It's hard, though, because from now on, everything will be compared to Lynch's work. I wish HE would stick with the Angel comics instead of doing Spike. lol. I'm not a huge Spike fan, but I'll read them just because of Lynch.

More info, this time from Comiclist.comBill Willingham's first arc will be 6 issues long and be called "The Crown Prince Syndrome". I'll quote the article on the site for the next part because I'm afraid that I will translate it wrong; For the artists; Brian Denham's site --> clickJenny Frison's site --> clickAnd a random quote about Bill Willingham;

sounds like a step in the right direction. I wonder if it will take place after aftermath of if it'll retcon aftermath...

Sounds like it could be great. I'm just hoping Willingham be able to do it justice, but by the sounds of it he'll be more than capable. Kind of scratching my head about the parallel story. I don't want that to be something that serves no purpose and takes away from the characters. That artist's stuff looks great, pretty much perfect X-Files likenesses.
Looking forward to hearing more. Still cautious after the Aftermath incident though.

Kind of scratching my head about the parallel story. I don't want that to be something that serves no purpose and takes away from the characters. It sounds to me like it will be out of the main story without any connection to Angel and his team. Like something extra for the people who want to read about a random person in the same world but without the need to read about it for the people who are not interested. Could be very interesting to follow somebody in this messy world. I really hope that the artist will use this style of art and not the style he uses for his Marvel superhero comics. But I've the feeling that IDW learned a lesson.

I don't usually say "OMG," but... OMG.
Getting Willingham is a real coup. I've been immersed in the "Fables" trade paperbacks for several months now. He's got a real talent for mixing the real world with the fantastic.

Like having it as a bonus from the 22 pages would be awesome, but I'd hate for it take away from the time to tell the story and development the show's characters. But I agree, it does sound pretty interesting.

I have no knowledge on comics either, I only got into comics after Buffy. I blame Joss. On that note, what does comic con cover? Comics and TV? or only TV, but were lucky coz we have Joss so he makes comic announcments too?

Here is an interview with Bill Willingham and what I'm guessing is the cover to #28. Kinda meh-ish.

I will say this, the image of Angel is waaaay better than anything that I saw during the "Aftermath" run... but apparently the reference material used was from S5, during the all-pudge-no-neck year. Love the little imps, though. Intrigued by the angle the writer seems to be coming from, but at the same time, I can't help but feel that the Angel character is being overshadowed in his own franchise.

1. Really excited about Bill. He's a great writer, and one of the people who could definitely do the series justice. I've read the first three TPBs of FABLES and actually recently started the fourth one, so we have nothing to worry about there.
2. For those who didn't, check out that interview that was posted. He knows a lot about what makes the characters work. And the whole side story thing isn't something we should be worried about at all. I doubt it will take anything way. If anything, it'll add.
3. The Angel news was what I was looking forward to most. But... does anyone feel a bit underwhelmed by the coverage. There was certainly more talked about. Brian Lynch was there, and I haven't read anything about the SPIKE series or much from him at all. Wasn't the Byrne one-shot (Angel vs. Frankenstein) talked about?
4. Cool cover. She's the lady who does the Dreamer covers, right? I never got into the series, but always enjoyed the covers when Ryall posted them on the blog.
5. "The Crown Prince Syndrome." Such an awesome title.

I'm wondering about the Angel Enterprises thing too. Just being witty or something that will actual play a part in the story?

I agree. I'm glad we got a lot of info about what's coming up after Lynch leaves, but what about Spike, #26, #27, Only Human or Last Angel in Hell? Basically everything Jamie listed on the first post. I've gathered from the tweets of that lucky person that #26 and #27 are about Angel and Spike going to Comic-Con (Groo is there too) to watch a movie made about their Hell experience. Spike goes as Angel. At first, the tweets just seemed like random ideas, but then when I re-read and re-read, they started to make sense lol. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that "Last Angel in Hell" is the actual film version (as a comic, of course) and #26 and #27 are about them going to see it. Not much more to know about "Only Human," though, I wasn't expecting anything there. But some Spike info? Please? It had to be mentioned. I was really hoping for Buffyfest coverage, as I couldn't be there myself like in NYCC (next year, though, for sure). Where were you guys? The first IDW panel got some official coverage with some sites, so I hope more comes out about this one.

I couldn't make sense of any of it. Can't say I like what you came up with either. Two issues of Angel and co. going to Comic Con? That doesn't sound interesting at all. Funny? Yes. Groundbreaking and deep? No.

Well, why does every issue need to be ground breaking and deep? It'll be a funny look at Spike and Angel realizing how the public see them as. You can't picture Spike reacting to the public seeing him as the female love interest of Angel in a negative, and, yeah, sorta deep way?
Out of everything we've found out from Comic-Con this year, that bit is probably tied for my favorite with the Bill Willingham announcement.
