What I love?
A very funny, yet sometimes annoying, character that makes the show even that much better. One of my favourite all-time characters that I am very excited about to see what will become of him in the eighth season. When he mocks the main characters, especially in the first three seasons, it is always the funniest scene. Not much to dislike about him....
What I dislike about Giles:
Season 7 Giles/Buffy relationship. All his funny moments, most of them anyway, were taken away to show us the watcher inside. I understand they were in a time of war, but the way he went about doing things destroyed his character during that season.
Favourite Quote:
"Alright, I'll just jump in my time machine, go back to the twelfth century and ask the vampires to postpone their ancient prophecy for a few days while you take in dinner and a show."
Favourite Season:
Giles was at his best in s4. He was funny, we learnt more about him as he wasn't just the librarian/watcher.
Defining Moments:
When we get to see him drunk. XD

Why? That's all I can say. Why? For starters, great arc. Read altogether and everything works, but it coming out monthly was a bad decision based on Kelly's writing capabilities. She somehow set it up like an episode, TEASER, ACT ONE, ACT TWO, ACT THREE, ACT FOUR.....
But, to end it on the note that it did with the whole "They're killing humans" doesn't give me the resolution I hoped. The arc should of ended without that cliffhanger sort of ending. Unless, there's some sort of CONTINUATION from this arc.

Ooh. New preview pages. Interesting. I like the whole "Underground" thing with Giles and Faith. I really am starting to get mixed feelings about him. Giles that is. A man like him wouldn't hide underground, isn't stupid enough to, and the whole "pray" thing at the end was like ... did Giles want the demons to come, to kill Faith off. I dunno...the myster deepens.
Love how Faith kicks the demon's knife wielding hand into his throat! Awesome!!!!!

The scariest demon for me would be the Gentlemen. The way they glided in movement; there wide smiles and slick gestures. It was freaky to watch. Especially the whole "song" that kids sung in tribute to them, and the not being able to speak. But, I was also quite scared by Adam's first victory against Buffy, Riley and the Initiative. And...before he became the actual villain...the Master. In the first few episodes...especially "nightmares"...he was freaky. But when he finally faced Buffy he lacked in movement, and was quite weak. Erasing the fear!

No. Plrtz Glrb is a reference to the teleportation spell that sucked them into whatever that place was called that Lorne comes from. The spell is in some wierd, no vowel, pronounciation!

Does anyone else see the anger, or disappointment in Giles's eyes? Think he may be up to something...or against their use of magic.

Not sure where I was to put this video, but if in the wrong place the powers that be of this site can move it...but I made some awesome set of opening credits for the season in the style of Smallville...practising my MASKING techniques.
STARRING: Buffy, Xander, Willow, Faith, Dawn, Oz, Giles.

Oh. And instead of like "Issue #1" and all that, it could be like "The Long Way Home" the full part that goes for like 40 mins...coz each will be like 10 mins. Hopefully. I am excited about this. Is it REALLY happening?

This isn't really a thread about season arcs, or episode speculations, but let's say the whole "wish" episode happened and Buffy wished that Dawn never existed...or someone else did...doesn't matter. What would happen in this alternate dimension.
I'm guessing this, but tell me your own ideas.
-Joyce is still alive. because the new memories got mixed with her older ones and formed a brain tuma. -Buffy & Riley stayed together. they're relationship was ruined because of what was happenin with Joyce, coz of Dawn. Buffy needed to give all her attention to her mother, and daugther, pushing Riley away. -Buffy & Spike never slept together because Buffy was drawn to Spike because, well she did die which caused the whole "I want to feel"....but she had suppressed feelings of her mother being dead. Not being able to have anyone to speak to.
So what's you're theories.

This season has had one of the best mysteries EVER. And that biggest mystery has had its own discussion thread, as we have tried our hardest to BREAK DOWN the clues and discover the real truth behind it. That question is "Who is Twilight?"
------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Is anyone expecting for Buffy Season 8 to have its own Twilight one-shot...not separate from the eighth season, but like the first issue, or more than likely, last issus of whatever volume of the s8 graphic novel. I suspect that in #30 that I think is the fifth and final part to the retreat storyline, we'll be shown who Twilight is, or given a MAJOR clue as to who he is. Whether it be in that issue we find out who Twilight is, do you expect, or desire, a Twilight-One-Shot issue to kick off the next graphic novel of s8. If so, what do you want it to include? -The turning point that lead to the birth of Twilight. -The backstory. -The origin. -His overall plan. Or do you feel his character will be FULLY explored in the last 10 issues. I'm on the "I WANT A BACKSTORY/ORIGIN" one shot for Twilight. Especially if it is the character I assume is. WARNING: DO NOT DISCUSS, SPECULATE WHO TWILIGHT IS, BUT WHAT YOU WANT IN A TWILIGHT ONE-SHOT.

I agree. Although we all do love Buffy & Angel we all have different "favourite" episodes and different "worst" episodes....may I ask you patxshand something. What didn't you like about the "Queen of the Slayers" book. Not to go off topic but i've hear a lot of people say they don't like it, and I liked it, so just wondering...you don't have to tell me if you don't want to lol.
XD Can't wait for Angel: AFtermath to be DONE and DUSTED

Is anybody shocked to see no Oz in the start of this issue? I know he's in the issue but the story is not what I had thought....in a GREAT WAY....always keeps me guessing. Love the Buffy is a fish thing. very humorous. I think Jane Espenson is a very talented writer. Always keeps the humour in there - -
I'm a bit scared for Oz. I don't know if they come across him because he's in danger from Warren, from the previous picture on this thread, or he just pops out of nowhere and gives them a home. I'm expecting a HUGE break in...at the current place their at...that leaves them retreating to Oz. DAMN MY EXCITEMENT.
How long till the issue?

Oh and Twilight speaks with wisdom...in a much older fashion than any younger, modern aged man would talk. For example "very well then" and "it falls to me to avert it". Very Giles-esque. I don't see Twilight as a killer, as strange as that may be for others, but more like someone who believes what they are doing is for the greater good. He doesn't seem interested in killing the slayer...but making her feel as though what she did was wrong, and in a way it is. She tipped the balance of power. In the end if it came down to Twilight's beliefs ...he most likely would stop Buffy...but in the meantime doesn't seem like its the necessary thing to do.
Another line that is very Giles-esque is "Understand this, girl. you cannot fight me."
Maybe the whole "Ripper" side to Giles will be explained if it turns out to be him. Oh and notice that Giles has been distant this season...or has he?...At the end of the day, every issue Giles is in (I think) Twilight is absent..and/or arriving at the end of the issue after a long time gap...like Giles = day Twilight = night...for example in NO FUTURE FOR YOU.

ooh. Just finished watching Showtime. More clues as the why Giles becomes Twilight...well backing up my first theory. Baljox's eye tells Giles & Anya that everything is happening because of Buffy...because she lives ... again. Anya says the world would have been better off if Buffy had just stayed dead. Then after everything Giles faces in the rest of the season, and in 8x02: Long Way home pt.2 when he is training the girls, he seems disappointed about how the balance has tipped so much...which starts in this episode. After Anya says that, you can see the revelation in his eyes...the shock.
ENTER TWILIGHT.

Just began rewatching season 7, my favourite season. And I realised a certain scene that may be a clue as to who is TWILIGHT.
In BRING ON THE NIGHT, Buffy is crawling out of the hole where the Turok-Han is trying to kill her. She looks up and Giles stands with the sun coming up. Time is in between night turning into day (morning). This is known as TWILIGHT.
From now on in, I believe it is Giles. Nothing can change my mind. I'm 98% sure.

I wasn't saying I wanted the First Evil in season 8. I was just disagreeing to the idea of it being a horrible evil for Buffy to face...or what someone had said...the lamest.
