For those who don't really like the First, or see him as one of the lamer villains... I can see where you're coming from. But, it was a good change to the normal villains we'd usually see in a season of Buffy. Not only did the First affect the characters physically (with all its minions) it mainly messed with the characters minds, mentally. The revelation in Conversations with dead People was shocking...can't believe it'd do that to Willow. And, with Dawn....that was freaky!!!
I'm all for a massive SMACKDOWN with Twilight and Buffy. But the First Evil was a good change. Well, that's what I think anyways XD

However the enter "series" itself ends, how do you think they will better the First Evil. I mean, it was such a great final villain character to best Buffy. She was miserable. Felt useless. Felt like it didn't matter because she couldn't fight this thing.
To wrap the series up, what villain to you want to have, either from the past, or characteristics of a new villain?

Buffy Season 8 has been an amazing ride. But, as we know, every season comes to an end. This year we've seen some of the best stories ever told in the buffyuniverse ... with Dracula's hilarious return and a gilmpse into the future in which Willow's reign of darkness consumes her once again and Buffy no longer exists. With the season almost hitting its 30th issue it has finally hit me that this season will soon be over.
I wanted to open this thread up to you to here your ideas on who won't live to see season 9, some issue titles you think will be used for the next couple of issues, and pretty much big moments or key moments you want to happen before the season comes to a close. Let me start.... -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Deaths: Giles. Amy. Satsu. S9 Main cast: Buffy. Willow. Xander. Dawn. Oz. Faith. Title Issues: "35-40: Twilight Falls" or "Twilight" Key Moments: I think we will see the Giles/Buffy moment we've all wanted ever since season 7. There giant separation has been a good way of showing us how Giles can be in a situation like this, but if he dies, which I think he will, there will be a bittersweet moment between him and Buffy. I think the big battle will be between Twilight's camp and the slayers of the world. Riley will have an army of agents and it will be bigger than chosen and similar to "Graduation Day pt.2". They'll all gathered on separate fields, ready to run in and fight. Out come the weapons and in comes the KILLING. I don't want to talk about who I think Twilight is as there is a thread for that. Oh and Oz's temple to which everyone is staying at currently "retreat" will be destroyed and he joins them in stopping Twilight...therefor becoming a series regular for s9... BTW: What do you think about Faith biting the dust. i don't want her to die but I've been re-reading NFFY and the one-shot of her and get strange feelings about it..... So what do you want to see in the finale?

Hmm....Buffy's biggest mistake was pairing Anya with Andrew in the final episode. I don't mean to say that Anya died coz of Buffy, just that her overall plan was stupid thus leading to the death of Anya!
Plan Setting: Xander + Dawn - Giles + Robin - Anya + Andrew. Plan Setting more Appropriate: Xander + Dawn - Anya + Giles - Andrew + Robin.
Xander and Dawn had to pair together because they are practically both at the sam skill level as each other. Working with someone else would end up with them dead. Plus, Xander loves Dawn deep down (not romantically) and will protect her till death. Anya had to go with Giles because he was the best swordsman in the world. Anya is pretty darn good herself but she is quite (don't crucify me) clueless as to what's going on in the fight. I mean, she was killed from behind, cheap shot, but still she had a half smile ... then a second later...dead. Robin with Andrew seems fitting. But I think one of them would have died.
So Buffy's big mistake was her plan for the finale!

For some reason this season eight actually is starting to feel like THE official season eight. There was always a weird voice in the back of my head saying "this isn't going to be the real season eight" or whatnot during the first 10 issues....then it started to go away...now that everything is coming together smoothly...the voice is GONE!!
I guess that means I enjoy the comics too.... XD

After having some more time to fully process this. I don't really care anymore. To me, Buffy is the person SMG portrayed for seven years on JOSS WHEDON'S show. That is the Buffy I have known for a long time and enjoy reading about in season 8.
This movie is something that I will not care for. Not pay attention to. And hope becomes an epic failure....but...if it does affect the series and tries to change it or anything that can jeoprodise the series AWESOMENESS than I will be seeking my revenge.
I am Batman....
No but seriously...

I think I have a clear idea of what this arc is about now. They retreat because of either, Twilight, or the public's idea on Slayers in general. Either way, they're at the Temple with Oz who takes them under their wing. To stop twilight from figuring out where they are, they decide not to use any magicks, and help Oz out in Tibet. I think we'll figure out who Twilight is in part 4...YAY YAY YEEEEEEAH!
Great covers. Geanty's covers always put a smile on my face because they are so unique and so interesting...Jo's are just amazing!! They get better everytime!!!!!!

They shouldn't because it would be like "Buffy & Faith" when they stand together. Too awkward for a show not about them...but I would love to see that...doubt they will.

OMG. So I finally got around to reading it and .... amazing. This new artist did a massive improvement in the previous' artists' work. Angel looks pretty close to what he looks like in real life, and Cordelia was just .... wow .... I love her short hair sort of thing going on!!
Me being a fan of the character loved her return. And yes, I agree she's being dragged out after her death but I mean "HEY!" anything to get her back ..... right? If its the right kind of story, anyway....

I have to disagree. It wrapped things up PERFECTLY, and the whole "slayers chosen" storyline...it's pretty cool!!

I would be okay with this idea if it had SARAH MICHELLE GELLAR - she is Buffy. She is all things Buffy Summers. If it continued from the first one and building up to the series that would also be watch-worthy but NO WAY IN HELL can they destroy this buffyuniverse and all that Joss has worked for just because of fucking J.J Abrams who, I'm really sorry, I HATE to death!! Sorry for the outburst everyone, but this whole thing has ruined my whole day....
Whether it be true or not, even the suggestion and this Zuiki dickhead, grrrr, anyway just NO!

Addiction. Rape. Revenge. Murder. Insanity. Buffy: The Complete Sixth Season.
Okay, so the season starts with Buffy's traumatic return. Buffy upset makes good television, but this season took it just a bit too far. Most of the season is made up with AMAZING episodes such as Hells Bells, Life Serial, Flooded, Once More With Feeling, Two to Go, but also had a few major letdowns: Smashed, Dead Things. This season completely ruined Willow's character, which at first was alright to me. She was always the funny, cute best friend but soon became the enraged, addicted to magic, wicca. Season 7 had a good chance of fixing her character up but instead chose to keep that dark side of her present, but somewhere deep inside of her. I enjoyed Tara's death, not in a sick twisted way, but it was a good turn of events. The plot became rather "meh" as some people would put it but after that it turned right around to "oh my god" which made the show even that much better.
Overall: the Start was good, the middle was rubbish, and the ending was SUPERB!
Season rating: 7/10

Maybe what they have planned for season 2 doesn't cost as much as most shows. They probably have the same sets, fewer characters, etc

Wow! What an amazing episode. I am really upset about Victor, not at the writers or anything just upset that something like that has happened to him; in other words I feel for him. I think that Dr. Saunders/Whiskey was someone in Topher's life, earlier....
He programmed her to hate him because it was easier for him to forget about his life outside of the dollhouse, in the past. Other than that, I don't know why he programmed her to hate him. I was happy to see that November didn't get killed...and got a happy ending (shocked to see a happy ending in a Joss Whedon show) and I enjoyed the whole "I'm echo".
Ballard asking November what her name was is a great way to end their relationship. With her not remembering, I knew he was gonna say "I'm nobody" seeing as he is now literally a nobody...well not like the dolls but you know what I mean...
Overall, I have a few expectations for season two: I would like to see Whiskey back in action, no longer an outcast because of her scars. I'd like to see some more character development for Victor...now that he is scarred, damaged and in Saunders words "ugly" I want to see how he copes with this new so called disability and what will happen to him. I want Ballard to eventually become a Handler for Echo or Sierra. And finally ... Alpha's rampage coming to an end.
10/10 and I'm not overreacting!!

Seeing as the finale ended with Alpha still on the loose, Echo aware of "Caroline", the revelation of Amy Acker's character being a doll, Ballard apart of the Dollhouse crew...a movie seems reasonable. I felt as though Joss was setting up a movie the way the finale ended.
Praying for season2.

I haven't read the comics in a long while, but I really want to know if the Shanshu storyline was really explained?
Was that the reason Angel was human?
Is he human in the new Aftermath comics?

I think the people who say they aren't cannon, or official feel that way because there was a long gap between season 7 - 8 and they had a lot of time to think "I wonder what would happen in season 8 if they did another season"....and with all these thoughts and expectations of this eighth season, the comics just didn't live up to that.
It's a problem with leaving a project dead (gone) for so long then reviving it. I, at first, felt this way. I didn't want to believe that it was the real season 8 but after the great issues that have come, I am loving it just as much as the show!
Hope that helped XD

[1] Wolves at the Gate: An amazing story told in a way that just caught my eye. I have read this volume so many times, and yet it still amazes me. From Dracula & Xander's funny lines to the Epic finale that left me thinking "Anything can happen" ... this arc was by far the best. 10/10
[2] The Long Way Home: Coming a close second, I enjoyed this arc just as much as Wolves at the Gate. The return of Amy Madison in the very first issue made me pick up the next and was excited to see where everybody was after "Chosen". Me being one of the only few who enjoyed Warren's return, I think this arc was just full of surprises. And, with the conclusion of Chain, I knew that I couldn't say "no" to season 8. 9.5/10
[3] No Future For You: For a big fan of Faith, I really enjoyed this arc in the season 8 storyline. The revelation of Twilight turned the whole story around for me...as did the rogue slayer who was just as confused as Faith was in season 3. The only thing that let me down was the misuse of characters Buffy, Willow, Xander and Dawn, the main characters. But, seeing as it was centered around Giles & Faith, I couldn't complain. 9/10
[4] Predators and Prey: Not my all time favourite arc but it was pretty darn good. Every issue in this arc was a good read, but the story took a step back for me...I would've enjoyed a nice Twilight revelation, or turning point at the end of the arc or a tragic end for a character to offset the EPIC battle that has yet to arrive....other than that, one of the best arcs so far. 8.5/10
[5] Time of Your Life: Fray...bad. Evil Willow...sweet. Time travel...bad. Big explosion...awesome! That was what this arc was like for me. Massive disappointment followed by an awesome turning point. This arc was actually quite good. I really didn't like how Joss decided to put Fray in season 8, coz it really upsetted me. It finally struck me that Buffy will one day die just like everyone else...and that's not something I like. But, some great character development....Dawn....and the inclusion of Twilight + the Riley revelation was amazing!! 8/10
As you can see I can't separate my feelings on the arc in the best way as each had their own great qualities but "Wolves at the Gate" is by far the GREATEST story ever told XD.
Xander: Yes Master....

I wish I was more like you. I can't control myself when I see a new Angel comic...I just have to take it home and read it. Although Aftermath has been very slow in picking up a good storyline and such, I have a feeling the ending is gonna be epic.
#22 will be a blast. I don't know why I feel this way but I view issues 18-22 like an episode put together, which is why it is failing. An episode has boring parts, funny parts, action parts etc and the writer is doing it like that. The first two issues were very, I don't want to say boring, but you know yourself how they were and issue 20 was a great improvement. I think we're gonna see a lot of ACTION in 21 & 22 and can not wait XD
