Pretty good episode, some meh in the middle. Finally Puck had something to do since the hiatus. The stuff between Kurt and his dad was fantastic, and awesome final number.

Man. That ending revelation was just too awesome. Got major goosebumps. So yay for getting Jacob's back story! Allison Janney was a nice surprise, such a fantastic actress. While we got some answers, I can't believe they gave us even more questions. Oh well. Still an amazing hour of television.

Just finished watching both seasons over the last couple weeks. Such a fantastic show.
Loved basically everything about Season 1: characters, story and mythology. I expected Season 2 to be nonstop amazingness since True Blood's popularity exploded at the time, heard about it everywhere, but I was kind of disappointed. Loved the characters and all their interactions, some sub-plots like Lorena were awesome. I didn't like the main two though. The Fellowship of the Sun story was boring, and I could NOT stand Maryann. Evil, tall, brunette women are always my favorites, but damn she was just annoying. That whole story was just ridiculous the last couple episodes. So happy Eggs got killed at the very end, awful character and actor.
There was still plenty of good though. Jessica and Hoyt are amazing. And even though the story sucked, Sam is still the best character. The entire cast is great. Can't wait for Season 3, sweet cliffhanger.

Good thing I lowered my expectations, because I thought it was awesome. Not as great as the first, but it's almost just as good.
While light on action, I was never bored. The cast just worked so well together, the way they played off each other made every scene a joy to watch. Robert Downey Jr., as usual, is amazing. Sure, the story was nothing special, but it wasn't bad. I expected some sloppiness based on the reviews, but didn't notice anything that took me out of the moment. It seemed like a half Iron Man sequel/half Avengers prequel which was neat. I give it an 8/10. Great fun.
And the scene after the credits? Epic.

Dawn's "HOW COULD I NOT?!" at the end of Forever. Takes me out of the amazing scene for a moment.

Did anyone else almost completely miss the final page because of the ad? Figured the feet would be a major cliffhanger ala The Long Way Home Pt. 3. Wasn't until a few minutes later that I turned the page to read the Slay the Critics section that I saw Spike. Fail.

Buffy having sex in space can't compare to the stupidity of Bella's character. As for it being Buffy's lowest moment... meh, I don't think so. Basically the same thing as Where the Wild Things Are, just on a more epic scale. Disagree. BtVS held to a higher standard until #34. "Twilight" has always been held to a lower standard. BtVS lowered itself to parody "Twilight" which boggles my mind. How about instead of mocking such an easy target as "Twilight", just tell a kickass story? Meh. BtVS made a mockery of "Twilight" by being BETTER. Now apparently BtVS needs to actively mock "Twilight" 'cause it's so hugely successful. My, these grapes are sour. It's fine for the fans to mock "Twilight". It's fine for fanfic. It's fine for SNL. But I want more than "Twilight" mockery from BtVS. Jeez. Well good things it's just cover. I don't really think the point is to mock Twilight though. I mean, (Buffyverse's) Twilight has played a big part this season, why not use it as a pop culture reference? Not the first time Jeanty's cover used references that worked with how the story and characters are going down. All his covers for Meltzer's arc aren't mocking the source. It works symbolically. Just in fun, no biggie.

I'd rather read "Twilight" than read "Safe". And I'd surely rather read "Twilight" than read #34. Season 8 lowering itself to parody "Twilight" has made itself even crackier than Twilight. There's nothing in "Twilight" that is as bad as space frakking compelled by glowhypnol created by the intelligent design of a sentient universe. That one moment is what I consider to be Buffy's lowest point ever and "Twilight" can't even dare to compare. Even the ending in "Breaking Dawn" which was so unbelievably lame and cracktastic doesn't touch it. Click Here for some correct eye coloring. Buffy having sex in space can't compare to the stupidity of Bella's character. As for it being Buffy's lowest moment... meh, I don't think so. Basically the same thing as Where the Wild Things Are, just on a more epic scale. I kind of like the placement of the characters on the cover. Without comparing Spike and Angel to Jacob and Edward (bad/good), it sort of seems like Spike is protecting Buffy from Twangel.

A little bit too portrait-y, but it looks great. Solicitation is exciting without giving too much away. Sounding like there will be consequences for Angel.

Haha jeez, it's not like Scott commenting on a letter means Joss isn't doing his job right when we know nothing. Buffy and Spike aren't going to be invisible to each other during the final issues, we'll know what's up in September.
I'm glad we're still not exactly clear on what the hell is going on, especially with Angel. Makes going into the final arc more exciting. As long as Xander's question from the beginning is answered, I'm fine with everything that's happening. Time to fix what was broken.

I'm really interested in what role Kate will play in the final few episodes. She's the only one in the group that isn't a candidate (her name being crossed off as well), but Jacob did come to her off island when she was a kid, right? She has to be significant somehow.

If people are still upset with Buffy after this issue... I just don't get it. I'm upset with her for choosing to bang a mass-murderer in the first place, and causing all of this. Everything that's happening now is still partly her fault. If she finds a way to undo it, then all will be well. If not, then she's still got a whole lot to answer for. And, as she says to Angel, she's only doing this because her friends are in danger... not because humanity is. Undoing all this is a must. In Buffy's (and Angel's I guess) defense, they didn't know what they were doing would cause this mess. But yeah, the damage is too much. Giving up perfect happiness, and literally saying "f*ck you" to the universe in order to save her family makes me love her even more. Now it's operation redeem Angel time. He still better be questioned though, by everyone.

Awesome final issue to an awesome arc. I'm still not quite getting Angel, there's questions and morals that need to be answered/brought up, and hopefully that's where Joss comes in. Still though, glad he went back with Buffy and kicked some ass.
Yay Spike! This three month wait is going to be killer.

No idea if that's going to happen or not (I've stayed completely spoiler-free), but that's the main theory I'm going with right now. So however it turns out, there had better be a great payoff for the FS, because so far the only real thing they've done is to drain most of the impact from tonight's ep for me: "Gosh, they're dead. But they're probably all gonna come back to life by the end of it (Jin, Sun, Sayid, Shannon, Boone, Frogurt...), so why am I supposed to care that much?" Ah, that's true. If that is the payoff, everything we've seen the entire series would be less sad. Even happy. Aw I hope that happens now. I've been expecting a tragic end in at least one timeline.

Sounds like I'm in the minority, but: meh. I couldn't summon up much emotion over the deaths in this one, since everyone's still alive in the flash-sideways. Really lessens the impact of these sorts of moments, because--whether it actually happens or not--they've got me believing that somehow these two timelines are going to be brought together in the end, and when that happens that there's a good chance all the dead characters won't be dead anymore. I can see where you're coming from, and the sideways world gives me hope for a happy ending for most of the characters, but they are all different. The Sun and Jin in the flash-sideways aren't the same characters I loved for six seasons and who grew on and off the island. We barely know them.
