Thanks for the questions. Shutting this down now and sending these off to Georges. I'll be going through the questions, and editing or discarding as I see fit.

The cute boy is more likely to be at the pub than in the tub of ice-cream, though. And... I'll say no more, coz my mind just went back to the sewer, and I need to keep the illusion of Modly decorum up.

The material may be shippy (haven't read it, may not now, since shipping and me don't mix), but you responded with snark. Since your antithetical shipping preferences have come to light before, said snark then seems to be a product of aforementioned preferences. The condescending tone taken afterwards compounds that.
I'm not blaming you alone here. My warning was more of a blanket warning to all. Other than "verbal" responses, we also have the "like/dislike" function, and that can also be used to show one's disagreement. Not to mention karma sniping. So before we ended up with a mess on our hands, I issued that warning.
And I'd like to point out that just about EVERYTHING in fandom is personal opinion. Shipping or otherwise. Hell, my reviews are personal opinion. I don't think that disclosure is necessary. On the topic of warnings about "shipperesque" material, I adhere to the "You're a big boy/girl" rule. If you click on something, and you don't agree with it, close the window, and walk away. Or if you feel particularly strongly about something, you could always leave a comment on the post. I like to believe that everyone here can be classy and civil (i.e. not be dismissive, rude, patronizing, aggressive, etc) about stuff like that).

That was not sniping. Hey - I actually find this kind of devotion rather cute. I saw Moscow post this link on every Buffy forum there is - and I love her enthusiasm. I just wanted to point out that I predicted this as one of the consequences of issue 39 - and I did this 3 days before the issue was out. And now we're into patronizing, which is also unproductive. Even if you claim that's not your intent, it comes across that way, and I really wish it to stop. If you want to discuss the meta, fine. If you want to share your own, or other's meta, fine. But the shipping nonsense ends now. And I'm really not cute when I'm fed up.

At this point, I think everyone's shipping agenda is pretty clear. Sniping at each other doesn't lead anywhere productive. So please, don't.

wenxina - I’m quite sure Brian and Mariah mentioned that the storyline of their mini-Spike series will be about Spike getting his ship and his bug’s crew. I know. I was talking about in the event that the bug crew bit hadn't been picked up for Lynch's current SPIKE series, it would have been something that DH would have had to deal with in S9. But yeah, Scott did say that there'll probably be some stuff left for them to cover regarding the ship and crew in S9.

Not sure, actually. I know we had a long discussion about the ethics of "sacrifice a few for the good of many," but I can't remember if we had previously disagreed about anything else.

As for Willow... I predict that there will be tension between her and Kennedy. The end of their relationship has been hinted at before (I think it was Allie who said that Kennedy haters would rejoice, but not because of the obvious option (i.e. her death)), and with Willow suddenly feeling powerless and Kennedy still retaining her Slayer status, I'm seeing some resentment ahead for that partnership. If they do break up, it will more likely be because of the sudden change in the balance of power. A lot of marriages go sour when the husband loses his job and has to rely on his wife's income for support. Are we actually agreeing on something here?

Because it was a structural conundrum. In order to give Spike (and Angel) the proper context, we needed many issues exploring those things. However, given the structure of S8 (not the best, I give you that), doing that would have taken away from the main storyline (can you already hear the outcry about how Joss only ever uses these characters to service Buffy(ahem)'s storyline?). The easiest, and best way to deal with that is of course to do spin-offs or a miniseries (which is a huge plus of the medium). However, given that the identity of Twilight the figurehead was a mystery, there was no way to properly give context without giving that away. And Spike's appearance was supposed to be a surprise of sorts too. And then, there's the little bit of licensing politics.
In my interview with Allie a while ago, he said that if IDW wasn't going to do the introduction of Spike's bug crew, it would have been something that was explored in S9.

Art is always up for critique. I will say that there were a couple of nitpicky things on my part.

It's a fine line. We may get a legion of hetero-female and homo-male viewers, but it could be construed as us merely peddling the hotness of our Admin. As I said, fine line.
ETA: Stupid Modness is making me say sensible things again. For that, I'm going to bed. Adieu!

What Emmie is really saying is that she thinks you need to do all your video announcements at least shirtless, and she'll need the bullet outline because she'll be too distracted watching the video to pay any attention to what you're saying at all.

Stupid epic review is taking forever to write itself. I swear I'll get it done by tomorrow, even if it kills me. More for my sake than anyone else's (c'mon, how many people actually read my quasi-intellectual ramblings anyway?).

I think we're generally against caps-locking. Poplocking on the other hand is applauded. I'm a dancing fool (I'm thankful that photographic evidence of that statement is scarce).

When did we grow up? I thought we used to be part of the scandalous few. Actually, *looks at the Mod roster*, I think most of us became Mods. Damn, no wonder the good stuff went away. I miss hanging out in the cbox till 2am with you guys.
