Usually when people talk about Firefly and Serenity, they focus on the heroes or protagonists. This is because viewers are pushed to like or identify with those characters so they are more invested in the story. The villains are usually portrayed in the opposite manner. The thing that I love about Joss is that he writes very interesting villains.
I really just wanted to express how much I like the character ,The Operative. I love that he was not just a simple bad guy. Yes, he worked for the bad guys. He was, however, the perfect martyr from the point of view he was taught. He was willing to give up his identity for the cause. He was willing to give up his life for the cause. He was willing to do all of this to build what he was taught and believed would be a perfect world. He was building this world for the rest of the universe, and not for himself. He understood that the things he was doing were evil, but was willing to risk his soul in spite of it. He knew the perfect world he was building would never be for him. Then, he finds out that all he has working toward was a lie. I do just love tragic villains.
Does anyone else agree with any part of this?
Are their any other villains you like a lot, or with which you can identify? Even though this is the Firefly board, the series was kinda short and didn't have a zillion villains, so feel free to pull some from other places.

Real name? Aaron
How old are you right now? 24 years old
What do you study/do for a living? I do data entry for a trucking company. I am studying psychology and computer science.
Place you are from? Thurmond, North Carolina
Place where you live now? Greensboro, North Carolina
How old were you when you watched your first Buffy episode? I was 16 years old
Did you like the show right away or did it take time for you to get into it? A friend of mine got me turned on to it. It was love at first sight.
Do you remember the very first episode you watched? Lovers Walk. I didn't know any of the back story at the time and I still loved every second.
When did you first realize you were getting addicted to the show? As soon as Lovers Walk ended, I started going into withdrawals.
Were there any other specific times when you felt like your interest for the show kept increasing, even to a point where you could no longer control it? Control it? Not likely.
Do you feel like the show ever jumped the shark at some point over its seven years of running? The Initiative plot was kinda lame in my opinion. Adam conceptually is awesome, but I think when pen went to paper he faltered. Still, the season was filled with some of the best episodes of the series.
Which character gave you more laughs overall? Oz was winning, then Anya's long haul put her ahead in the race. Andrew tried to win out after coming in late, but fell a little short of overcoming Anya's years of hilarity.
Was there a character you really couldn’t stand? The Anointed One, with Riley coming in as a close second.
What is your favorite female character? Willow and Anya Tie
What is your favorite male character? Giles
What relationship did you “worship” the most? I don't really worship any relationship. I understand that each one had its place and purpose. Some I liked more that others, but more because of the individuals involved than the actual relationship.
Buffy’s soul mate? Angel. Even though I enjoyed some other relationships more, they have the whole destiny thing going for them.
Willow’s soul mate? Tara. Oz was high school love, which rarely means soul mate. Tara, however, drew Willow to her without even trying. Thats gotta be the real deal.
Xander’s soul mate? Anya. They were perfect for each other. Not sure how that happened, and I'm sure neither do they, but you can't fight fate.
Which death touched you the most? Joyce's death was a rough one.
What is your favorite season and why? Season 3. Even the worst episodes were good. The rest were freaking awesome.
What season did you enjoy the least? Season 1. I always feel that Joss shows start off a little slow. From a production standpoint, because they are finding their footing. From a writing standpoint, because his shows contain a lot of setting and back story, which takes some time to set up fully. Once the ball gets rolling though, there is no stopping it.
If you had to rank the seasons? Season 3 / 6 / 7 / 5 / 4 / 1
What is your favorite big bad? The Mayor. He's so nice, polite, and evil that you can't help but love him.
What is your favorite episode finale (or final arc of a season)? Favorite season arc would be season 6, with Willow off the deep end.
What is your favorite fight? Xander vs. Harmony
Do you have one favorite episode? Restless because it has some many layers and details, some of which mean nothing and some of which mean everything.
Finally, what would like to add? What’s so special about BTVS? I love that a man's creative genius can be trampled the way it was in the Buffy movie, yet still that man can pull it from those ashes and make it shine the way it did.
Do you enjoy the Season 8 comics? Based on what I have read so far, yeah.

I figured Harmony saying he couldn't pick flowers was her being her ridiculous self. Also, I'm thinking the "living things" statements were made prior to him knowing he could hurt demons. I could easily be mistaken.

From what I understand, they chip doesn't recognize things such as "living" or "not living." I don't even think it recognizes things like "demon." My understanding is that is a purely electronic chip that, when Spike thinks of hurting someone or actually does hurt someone, determines via some kind of mysterious bio sensor whether the target falls into the category of "human" or "not human." Then, if the target is determined human, the chip delivers the neurological shock.
So if this is the case, Lorne beware. Plants and puppies, put on your party hats.

I really liked this. While it was of a scene in an episode, you maintained the integrity of the content of the scene, while adding some nice depth with the inner thoughts.

I've found that the best way to handle the death of those characters we love is to think of it like this:
In the Buffyverse, the writers and creators of the world and story (we'll just call the gods for short), have reasons for what they cause to happen. Sometimes the gods make people leave. Sometimes they push people towards death. Even though we do not fully understand their reasoning, there is inevitably a reason. We just have to respect the gods, and trust that they know better than us what must be done.

^^You mean leaving him, yeah that was stupid. Long live Riley! She didn't go anywhere. He left. I, however, meant having anything to do with him was her mistake.

Others have mentioned it, but I absolutely love the fight between Xander and Harmony. I am also a big fan of the the fight between Angel and Lindsey in season 5. The poor guy lost his tattoos.

While that time line is the most accurate, the constant alternating makes it difficult to watch it in order because you have to switch discs for each episode. I couple years ago, I created this time line because a friend of mine wanted to watch them chronologically. This order is made to preserve the time line, while keeping in mind character crossovers, "to be continued" endings, and disc changes.
Guide to Watching Buffy/Angel Chronologically

I presume nothing. I simply shared the image that appeared in my head when using the zombie raising method from The Zeppo to resurrect Tara was mentioned.

Tara is Back!!!!! ZEPPO STYLE!
To Amber Benson the person and Tara the character, I mean no offense. I love you both. Talk of resurrecting Tara via means mentioned the The Zeppo called for it. She actually looks nicer here than she did when taking skin grafts directly from the zeppo zombies.

My true feelings about Kennedy:
Willow would have been better off changing her sexual preference to bestiality.

As to who was the first fan, I couldn't say. I was a fan before I meet either one. I guess I got into the Joss realms around 2000.

Hey everyone. My name is Aaron, husband of Leia (meliafairy) and roommate of Emmie (Emmie). I've been telling Emmie for over a year that I would join the board and start posting. Now look at me actually following through. Now that is done. Time to move on to random smilies insertions: :buffyslay: :vampirebite:
