Lol. Just to make it clear for anyone. I did not say I hated white people. I said Eva from Freedom Writers (which btw, if you have never seen that movie, I definetly recommend) hated them.

Again, I don't think racism is ever ok. I was just saying that I understand that some people who are usually have a life shattering event, or at least some are like that while others are not and they just think their race is superior.

I live in Tennessee. There's not exactly "homophobia" but more like an aversion to it. At the school I just graduated from, if a girl was gay or bisexual she was considered a slut. It was different for guys though. People thought gay or bisexual guys were cute and even popular.

On the day of silence we were featured on the news because of a boy who wore a shirt that bashed homosexuality. The story was more focused on the boy's beliefs than what students and even teachers were protesting against--homophobia and hate.

I actually cannot believe this thread, it just seems like so amny people are intrinsically discriminatory in some way, shape or form

People are all equal. There is no excuse for any type of discrimination based on people's beliefs or their appearances, my friends are a mix of every race and sexuality and I wouldn't have it any other way. I just hope that places like Uganda can catch on and step into the future already, sexism, racism, homophobia . . . it will never be ok and the sooner the small minded people of this world realise that the better. I was particularly shocked by this story I came across a while ago

But Gay used to be a word that just meant happy, so it is possible that it's usage will change and people stop using it as a derogatory term.


I was at a christian conference a few months ago and there was a seminar on homosexuality and the church. I was fully expecting the usual homophobic nonescene, but it was completely different from what I expected. It's nice to know that there are people in the church that believe there is nothing wrong with being gay (after all God makes people this way, and if God is perfect then the way he makes his people must be perfect). The guy leading the seminar has even started a campaign where he goes to gay pride marches with his 'followers' to apologise to the gay community for the way the church has treated them. So there is a hope for an equal future between heterosexuals, bisexuals and homosexuals.

I'm going to tell the truth and some of you may hate me for it but - oh well. Due to my religion I do think being gay is wrong. But, also due to my religion, I don't believe in discrimination of any kind.

I hate homophobic people soooooooo much because they kid themselves that they aren't doing anything wrong. They would be angry at a racist person but suddenly think it's okay to insult LGBT people. Like in what way are gay people hurting you? Or anyone else for that matter.

I live in London, in a school were if you're a gay guy you should resign yourself to never having any male friends... girls have it a little better.

I've got many bi friends and others are all like "How can you touch her? Do you know where her hands have been?". And I'm like. "How do you touch guys... Do you know where their hands have been? Same place guys...".

LGBT day was a nightmare. I gave so many "Shut the F*** up" speeches I thought my tongue would fall off. My school tried to make itself less homophobic. And they kinda made it worse. We had a moment of silence, where not only my my class insisted on talking but I could hear other classes raising up a storm...

When I spoke to one boy his defence was, "They want to be equal, so why do they need to have their own day.." Ok one, his behaviour shows exactly why they do. Plus, black people have a whole month why aren't you complaing about that?

Another excuse is: "My religion is against it." This one really pisses me off. because it gives people like me a bad name. Somehow I doubt their religion tells them to make judgement on whoever they want.

Sorry= long rant. But homophobia is something I hear often. And it really gets me upset.

And although this is an arguement for a different topic...

What's with the bi girl trend? If I were bi, actually bi. Not this fake thing. I would be pissed. I'd want to walk up to Rihanna and punch her in the nose for Te Amo. Being Bi is an important descision some people making in their life. It's not a fashion trend, it's not because your drunk and you find the girl next to you really sexy and it is certainly not a ploy to make yourslef look sexier to guys... Whooo... nice to get that off my chest...

There are rules I follow as a Christian. In the same way that your parents will say 'Don't do this.' My religion says that too. I take the gay rule as 'Don't be gay.' Which iseasy for me. Could problematic for others, though...
