While I like some of the suggestions so far, wouldn't the marketing folks (both IDW & Fox) want something simple & easily recognizable? I can see them pushing for simply "Spike".

Yeah, Brian already said that it probably will be simply called "Spike". But it was more to see if we could find another title that sets this upcoming Spike series from the others he's done. Sorta to mark the occasion that Spike is the headliner, leading man now. There are other Spike's out there, so perhaps something to set him apart in that way too. I personaly know only Spike Spiegel from Cowboy Bepop. I will still root for The chronicles of Spike or Tales of Spike, both titles don't give a lot away except that there are stories to tell. Not funny or serious, just simply neutral. Buffy in the beginning was only a vampire slayer, it's only after season2 that the season's bigbad were never vampires again. All of Angel's possible titles might have been very cheesy and in the end they simply went with Angel. Cus Angel: Chosen warrior of the PTB, Angel the Champion, Angel the Vampire with a soul, don't sound so good I also like Rebel with a cause, only maybe Spike's the rebel without a cause. He doesn't really have a cause, he just fights against evil. His enemy or cause isn't really defined. With Buffy it was her birthright to be a slayer. Angel was chosen by the PTB(wankers). Spike simply became who he is by living his life and following his heart. Sorta like in the movie Troy when Briseis asks Achilles why he chose the life of a great warrior and he answers he didn't choose anything, he was just born and became what he was.

My problem with Tales of Spike is that it's too similar to Tales of the Vampires/Slayers. Makes it sound like an anthology series.

I was watching Hell Bound the other night and I began thinking about Pavayne. Maybe he could make a reappearance in the series. It's possible he could have survived the destruction of Wolfram and Hart. Anyone agree?

I would think that everything part of Wolfram and Hart is gone, but maybe not ... I would like more of his past shown and be part of ther new storyline so Cecily/Halfrek, Dracula, The Whirlwind, Nikki Wood- there could be more story there, and have Robin Wood reappearance.

Not really intrested in any of those characters. Most of them were there for a few laughs or throw away characters.
Pavayne was a good for nothing loser, Spike and Fred easily got rid of him. And now as part of the living he wouldn't be any threat to Spike.
W&H are Angel's main enemies. Their beef was never with Spike or Buffy.
IDW already tried to make intresting stories that involved Halfrek,Dracula, both imo were terrible. They were just little jokes on the show, not nearly intresting enough to dedicate a series or a whole comic too. And Dracula is already in season 8.
Nikki Wood's story seems to be played out, she already appeared two times on the show. Spike made it clear on what would happen if Robin tried anything again, and this time Buffy isn't there to protect him. Robin on his own again not much of a threat unless ofcourse he has his own team of 10 slayers that follow his command without question, that could be bad.
I think the best thing they could do is create a new world, like how Angel had his own world when he went solo from Buffy. Don't get too fixated on Buffy or Angel, have Spike carve out his own world with new characters, they have already started doing that with the previous Spike series. Characters that have very little or nothing to do with Buffy or Angel, like Beck,Biv,Anna,Tok,Marv,George, ect. And most importanly expanding/examening Spike's character. Asylum/Shadow Puppets/S:After the fall all had main theme's and development for Spike, i hoping the on-going series will continue to do that. Really get in to Spike's head, how he became who he is/was and where he's going. A vampire that willingly went after his soul/became a superhero.

I really want Brian to do his own thing in this series and give Spike it's own personality distinct from Buffy and Angel. I'd like him to develop his own characters that he introduced in previous stories, and maybe create some new ones.

I read the IDW one with Halfrek, and your right- terrible... but I like the Robin with his own team of slayers storyline. That could work as a side story from the main plot. (Well, not if he is Twilight ) And I really want to find Asylum A.S.A.P because I hope/think those characters will be back.

Though in the end Robin found a way to use and manipulate them in his vengance against Spike.

I think Robin and Spike should stay away from eachother. There's nothing very interesting in the pair; they should never be friends and I don't want to see two likable characters go at it again because nothing's changed and you'll eventually have to take sides.

I would definitely recommend Asylum, it is really the first great Spike series/comic, i did have a few minor complaints but they pale in comparison to how great the series is + this series introduced Beck. The comics from before this were either average at best or terrible. Shadow Puppets is also very good, lots of hilarious situations and a brand new setting(Japan instead of boring old LA) also an amazing new character, Tok.

There was a picture shown and everything. The SPIKE series kinda got drowned out by the rest of the ANGEL news, which is kind of a shame, but okay because we have plenty of time to talk about it and show stuff.

Ha, Spike looks really cool in that pics... I never would have thought that I would think that again since the 70s Spike. The woman is Beck?
