Isn't it funny how this seems to be echoing Season 2? Buffy sleeps with Angel, then has to fight him to save the world. Same thing happening here I've been thinking the same thing since Angel came back

I hate to say it, but I think Angel is at the point now where he'd be a more interesting character if he just did an Anakin Skywalker, and embraced the evil. After this, I have to think he's coming around to the opinion that there's no point in fighting it. I wonder whether his role in season 9 will be that of a white hat or a black hat? Season 9 could be based on the contrast between Angel (destiny's bitch) and Buffy (destiny's nemesis). One of the first things Buffy says when Merrick comes to her is "I'm destiny-free, really." I suspect her whole character arc is pointed in the direction of finally making that a reality. And Angel is the counterpoint. If he's saved in the end, it's going to be because Buffy saves him. man I totally agree with this. very deep man. its makes sense

Just a heads up about this issue... I just got back from the comic shop, and they told me that new comics next week (including Buffy #39) will be out on THURSDAY, not Wednesday as they usually are. Apparently the distributor took last Friday as a holiday, so they're a day behind on their shipping. So, we have to wait an extra day.

One more day until we'll find out the theme of the season. Who's gonna ask Scott Allie about it?

So... Okay, well I'm thinking Spike got seriously injured when Angel exposed him in the sun. It makes sense since he dosent show up on Jeanty's cover. Neither does Dawn from what I can tell, but I am quite nervous that he could be killed off right when he comes back...I hope he doesn't, since he's my favorite. I also agree that Xander will be the betrayer since he has been the closest to Buffy this entire season. Dawn has been much closer to Willow than Buffy has throughout this entire ordeal. Giles...I love this man and i have this terrible feeling that his time with us and the scoobies is finally up. Willow becoming all vainly again, is also something I see coming but I'm not looking forward to it. 'Time Of Your Life' was a very serious issue. Willow does not deserve a fate like that. I'm very scared right now for everyone. Faith I have a feeling will also get a major spot lighting, especially if Giles will die. They've been bonding, she and him both trust one another now. Not to mention her bond with Angel will be tested as well I'm sure.
One thing Scott Allie mentioned in one of his latest interviews is that Buffy's love life will be changed after this. That's got me thinking too. I love Angel as much as the next girl but I'm not gunning for him to be welcomed back with open arms for all to be forgiven at the end of this arc. And from what Scott hints at I don't think he will. It's quite possible that Buffy's 'basking' day's of Angel could be over. Don't get me wrong though I know that no matter how bad it gets Buffy is Buffy and she will never stop loving Angel. We saw proof of that when she found out he was Twilight. Here's hoping there isn't another repeat of sex while she acts that it's all fine and dandy because he's her 'sweetie bear' I definitely want him to go through some major guilt and make amends for all he's done.
I'm hoping that when season 9 rolls around Spike will be a Core member again and he and Buffy regain the closeness they once had and that they both obviously miss. If you couldn't pick up on by her fantasizing about him and his distancing act. He's obviously hurt about the galactic Sex that Buffy and Angel had. Especially now that it's been made clear that someone is going to die, and Buffy will be distraught. If Spike isn't the one to be killed off (Prays Heavily) she'll need to be comforted. Who better to do that than someone who understands her in a way no one else does? 'He's her Dark Place' The way that all the writers and Jeanty has been going on about this next issue is that Buffy just might reach her breaking point emotionally.
So I really can't decide between Excited, Terrified, Anxious or Depressed. What I can say for certain is that Season 8 for all it's ups and downs has been a roller coaster I've enjoyed with every panel to panel. In a few day's it's all going to be played out and as a loyal Buffster I'll stand by Joss. No matter how heart wrenching.

One day delay due to the Thanksgiving holiday last week. Due to a nonworking Thursday, the packing of the books got pushed back a day, meaning that delivery is also a day late. For most. It's possible that some people may still get their books today.

Nobody in the U.S. is getting them today... Diamond's policy is that every store gets them on the same day.
However, I heard that Canada might be getting them today.
If so, I hope any Canadians on here will keep their responses spoiler-tagged until tomorrow...

I know perfectly well there's no way I'll be able to resist the spoilers. I wanted to read this spoiler-free tomorrow, but I just don't have the willpower.

It's kind of a shame that the actual comic has become almost an afterthought.
Sometimes I miss the pre-Internet days.
