Best Season of Angel

Season 2 all the way, baby!! We got a LOT of past Angel, and the Darla storyline?? Awesome!!!!

Plus, it showed Angel's struggle as a vampire, not just a vampire with a soul but the demon, trying to ignore the call of its sire but not being able to...obsessing over her instead, turning away from all his friends.

Also, we get Pylea! Numfar, do the dance of joy!!

Either 3 or 4, but I voted for 4. My favorite relationship on Angel was Wes and Lilah. I loved both of them together. It was so dark. Lilah was at her best, the story had so many twists and turns, Gwen, Faith, Angelus, Willow. I was kind of disappointed about the whole Jasmine thing. I was expecting something HUGE, but it wasn't much. I did miss the old Cordelia, but Evil Cordy had some great parts as well, "I just bit my tongue." I loved all the episodes too.

[The Second Evil]

Season 3, all the way! All the way until Connor comes back as a teenager, it's a bloody masterpiece! Cordelia grows up, Wesley and Gunn become likeable... and the addition of Fred and Lorne to the group created such a wonderful dynamic. It just had so much drama and excellent plot lines. 'Lullaby' has one of my favourite moments of either series as well

I agree that teen conor was kinda a bust but in repeat viewings of the season, conner grew on me.

Season 5. The introduction of Spike made for a darker more warped season and I loved it.

As much as I dislike Spike, I agree that many of the really great stand out episodes of season five were standout becuase of Spike.
I can't remember the name of the episode but the one where spike almost gets taken to hell. That was a damn good episode!!

I voted for 5... Season two was completely painful for me to watch. I hope my opinion will change when I re-watch, but I hated Darla and hated the way Angel was about her. It took me forever to get through because I dreaded each episode.

I recal beeing initally disapointed with season 2 of angel in comparison to season 1 when I was watching the episodes when they origionally aired.
I will say though, that watching them on DVD, season 2 has a much more apparent story arch and has a few really great stand out episodes and a bunch of amazing flashback episodes.
You should giv eit a second chance!

Season 5 was amazing. I loved the chemistry between Angel and Spike. As Joss said, who would have thought that Angel's soulmate would turn out to be Spike?

Lorne and Harmony were both really funny and entertaining, as well. I loved Angel's insecurity about Spike, as well as the power he had as head of Wolfram and Hart.

The only things I didn't like about season 5 were Fred becoming Illyria (sad that Fred died and Illyria bored me to tears).

I think the fun of season 5 was summed in the episode of the season at the end, when Angel was in the classroom and said to the S.W.A.T. guy something like, "So it turns out with this new gig, I have a helicopter!"

Then when Spike appeared out of the amulet at the end and Angel said all grumpy, "Spike." Then Wesley said, "Spike?" And Harmony around the door, "Blondey Bear?"

And you knew the season was going to seriously rock.

Season 2 is my second favorite season, then season 1. SEason 4 was my least favorite with the evil Cordy crap. And Connor seriously sucked, IMHO.

I agree that the funny of season five was one of the best parts.
I also loved Harmony too. I gotta disagree about Lorn though. I was never a Lorn fan. From the very begining.
He was amuzing for a bit I guess but he should have stayed as a one shot character and had his story arch end in season 2 with him staying in Pylea (imho).

Well, I think it's interesting how we all have different favorite characters and arcs. Lorne was my very favorite Angel character up until Spike and Harmony joined the cast. Lorne's humor was the only bright light that kept me watching in season 4, in all the hopeless darkness. But I really relate to Lorne. Our personalities are similar with the humor, silliness, and over-the-top outfits. I love Lorne's colorful character!

I loved season 5, and I always loved Lorne, but the trouble was once Spike joined the cast, a lot of the more humerous elements of the script often ended up being delivered by Spike's character, when in earlier seasons it would have been him.

Trouble is I adored Spike, and so after he joined it was all just 'gold' for me, despite Lorne having less to do.

Having 'blondy bear' always snapping at the heals of his 'grandsire' just made it just that more enjoyable!

I voted for the last one. (seems like i don't even remember what happended in the 4 before!). But I hate hate hate Fred's death !! I like Illyria's character, she's so strong so .. I don't know ! She's great ! But I prefer the sweet smart little Fred ! Her death is so unfair !!
And as i already said, I hate the end !!!! We don't even know what will happen, who will survive, what will they do next .. i HATE that !
