Thank you. I'm tempted to write another letter to see if it happens again.... I do think though that a game based off of this season, especially now with Melaka in the mix, would be absolutely AWESOME! LOL. I've been waiting for a game too! But if I looked down and saw that one of my letters were in an issue, I'd probably fall over and die.

So I was rereading this issue again...and then I started skimming through the lettercol...then I saw this one letter...and I looked at who wrote it and I realized that it was the one that I wrote. I was like "WTF THAT'S AWESOME!" XD. Oh that's so cool! Which one did you write?! Did they respond to it? Where did you write it? That's so awesome!! Wow that was the first thing I thought when I read the letter and it mentioned the season eight game. I though it was from someone at slayalive because a while back we had a topic on a new Buffy game and a season eight one was mentioned. So when I read your letter I thought of Slayalive!! Congrats on the published letter.

I've been obsessing for a season eight game for a while!! LOL. I'm not too sure if I started the season eight game thing on this site though....might've...but I'm not going to claim and say that I did. LOL. It's just pretty cool to have it published in 16 because I really liked that issue because Melaka was in it. I purchased FRAY the same day I bought 16. XD

Okay...so it's July...and so far the only "big news" that was rumored to be announced way back...is the whole ToYL Issue 19 Cover...and the Fray crossover? Is that all that we're getting???

It is only July 11th. The issue came out at the beginning of July, they are probably waiting a week or two to give out the news or whatever. It could be the cover though because that is pretty big.

Direct from the (Dark) Horse's mouth: "Guys, I hate to be the buzzkill, but I'm happy to kill a rumor. No major Buffy announcement this month. The comment that this thread is based on was my publicist talking at a convention in February, and I think he was refering to the crossover with Fray, or it might have been the Dr Horrible comic strip on Myspace (www.myspace.com/darkhorsepresents). Sorry about that. There will be some Buffy news at Comic Con, but it's more updates, state of the union, etc. However, when I say that there are no plans for another Fray series, or a Season Eight spinoff, it does not mean that these things have been ruled out—just that there are no firm plans for them right now. Both have been talked about, but so far nothing has been cemented. Stating facts, making apologies, but offering no opinions, Scott Alllie " www.slayaliveforums.proboards50.com/index.cgi?board=buffyseason8&action=display&thread=2522&page=2 (near the bottom of the page)

So, completely random observation, but did anyone else think that it was hilarious that the tank/cylinder thing behind Warren read "A1"? Considering that Warren looks slightly medium-rare, I thought it was a hoot.

finally got around to reading this issue.
Really, really not a fan of karls art, but I dont mind too much as I know hell improve with later issues. His fray art was perfect though. the double spread of buffy and fray was spectacular.
I loved the return of amy and warren, i love them as villains. They really work for an original villianous couple I think. A skinless corpse and a witch....coooooollllll.
The blowing up of the castle, holy shit.
I loved the little nod to the beautiful sunset imagery that has been carried out through out season 8, just before the missile hits xander looks out across the scotish highland and you see the sunsetting...then seconds later twilight/amy/warrens missile attacks. the same happened with twilights attack on buffy/satsu.
So anytime I see a sunset in the background of a panel ill shit myself that something terrible is gonna happen! haha.
Best line of the issue was 'Neigh'.
And i love buffy in a dress and boots. i wonder who she went out to meet....hmmmm.

Surprisingly, I've never noticed this at all. Maybe I need to pay more attention when I read them. ;D

I've seen so many reviews about fans being disappointed with Xander's "lack of grief toward Renee" in #16. It had made me go, "Hello! Have you not met Xander before?" Mr. I-Hide-Pain-Behind-Jokes? It's even funny because some of the complainers are those who complain about the characters being OCC in S8.
Then I read Tallgent's review on the issue and I enjoyed what she said here about Xander:
"In a nice call-back to Empty Places, Xander is once again nursing a devastating wound. Buffy and Willow are with him again. But this time Buffy is there emotionally as well as she and Willow struggle to dance on egg shells while Xander is as stoic as ever determined not to let his pain show. But there’s also a hard-won acceptance. Time and life goes on. You have to move forward.
So when we see Xander to get over his grief by reaching out to his friends, whether cheering up Dawn with her centaur situation or seeing off Buffy and Willow on their little jaunt to the Big Apple, we’re conditioned to applaud him because we have been taught through our postmodern culture that people come first. Friends. Family. When you have to choose between serving your king or helping your friend, friendship should come first. If you’re very lucky, or in an Arthurian tale, sometimes you can do both.
All very idealistic. Very human. What human beings should strive for. That simple connection. Institutions as powerful as they may be are still only made up of people.
But in the world of Time of Your Life this is turned on its head. Xander is there for his friends at the cost of losing his Slayer army under his charge. This is the world the Scoobies have navigate in now. Where we fell for Xander and his pain. But remorse means jack shit where above all else you must protect the institution. You must protect the system. Everything else--friends, family, are expendable.
Xander doesn’t catch any breaks here. This world doesn’t allow for breaks."

I loved the start because yes, I had just finished Fray (I'm always behind on these things, it seems) and so I loved it started on the same words. Heh.
And I don't think they've been OOC. I just feel like it's Buffy. Heh. The same can not be said for the Doctor Who comics from IDW. But I'm not gonna go into that here.
So, I kinda had to have explained the whole Get it done bit at the end, but then I vaguely recalled it. Heh. But it was awesome and I can't wait for the next issue. : D
But man was I shocked as hell when the Castle got blown up. Eeek.
And was I the only one who laughed when she saw skinless!Warren in just a lab coat. XD I just thought that was hilarious.
