I suppose so, but if you have them, wwhat harm is it having Fred Gunn and Lorne? (Btw this isn't meant to sound all aggressive! )

What did you think about my other idea's? Like the extra skin fro each character?

Is a logical story really neccessary?

This will be simple arcade game fun. I don't think there could be a plot that wasn't incredibly lame and forced. "Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Brawl" needs no sensible plot I tell thee.

In terms of plot, one thing that could be added for logic reasons is that the campaign/story mode has you using hero characters only and fighting villain characters in different stages. Every villain you beat is then unlocked for the multiplayer arcade where all characters can be used.

I'm assuming the core of the game would be 1on1 or 2on2 fights. A special bonus level could be unlocked upon completion which pits your character against a near endless army of Ubervamps. Pure brutal enemy destruction is the name of the game here. It'd have traditional arcade point score with a score board an maybe achievements. Again once a certain score is reached the Uber vamp could be unlocked as a playable character.


I don't think it would be a good idea to be mixed with Angel either personally.


I know season 8 has many fans but I think it would be too alienating for fans to include it strongly. Maybe unlockable season 8 guises for Buffy, Xander and Willow, and possibly a d/l character pack for future release.


*Special move for Xander* Xander disappears off the screen for a second, and a massive wrecking ball smashes through the level and wankers the opposition.

Sounds like some good ideas, henz. I think you're right about perhaps not limiting ourselves with Season 8 development. Keeping the game broad enough that any fans of the seven seasons on tv would be interested.

If we aren't including Angel characters then Angel, Cordy, Wes and Harmony should still be fair game right?

I was just thinking that one of Xander's moves should be a wrecking ball! Great minds

Angel should definately be included. Maybe even Angelus as well as there'd be potential for very different fighting styles.

Maybe when Angel's power bar or something fills up, you can press a button and he'll go all vampy and Angelus?

Plot

A mystical/virtual training Danger Room out of control.

The whole game could be an X-men like Danger Room where there's a mystical/virtual training room in the Scotland Castle that Willow created. It cheapens the reality of the fights against dead Big Bads...though maybe something goes wrong with the spell (as Willow's spells often do) and there's temporal fissure allowing the real Big Bads to time travel into the Danger Room. So they have to be defeated or all be unleashed on the Present Day world. The temporal fissure could have been caused by the First, who's come back to destroy the Slayer Army by bringing back the Hall of Fame evil from all 7 seasons. Though the First isn't needed to create the scenario, another baddy could've done it or it could have happened accidentally.

Also, for good guys fighting good guys: It could be that they're training to fight someone that's a big bad that was released foward through time. For ex. Willow says "Buffy, Glory is to strong, so train against me, than you might be ready..." And then you have to beat Willow.,.And this could be within story mode. And since the only character's we could get at Scotland castle at the beginning (and this would be a stretch) would be Buffy, Xander, Willow, Dawn, Andrew, Kennedy, Giles, and Faith...So we need a way to bring back character's like Cordy, Anya, Tara, Angel, Spike etc.. (people who are not in season 8) So I'm thinking, what if this danger room could not only bring back big bads...but they could bring back other friends from the dead ( and people who arn't with them at the moment )to battle and spar with...but then the time get's corrupted in it, and the Good and Bad guys could both be stuck here or whatever (i'm trying to remember what Emmie said). So the "dead" or "Not there" good guys can help fight the big bad's that returned....


Conclusion
I just summarized what we have been talking about for 3 pages..so this is a good start. If anyone objects or wants to change this "starting plan" then just say so and we can discuss it. Just too let you know, we're not adding Angel character's with the exception of Illyria, because we want to keep this Buffy based. Soo, how is it?

Yeah, I think we shouldn't have secondary characters only from the comics in the game.

It raises the question of where should the mystical training room be located. If its Scotland, than having Renee and Satsu kinda makes sense but I don't really see them having a strong enough fanbase to warrant them being included. I think I'd rather have the game not based on the comics so it had wider appeal.

Maybe the Danger Room could be on the Hellmouth in Cleveland and the mystical hellmouthy energy is what warps the spell. Buffy and the gang are there to deal with a potential apocalypse when the Danger Room malfunctions and starts bringing Big Bads from the past, as well as former friends who maybe can come back as guides on how to help defeat the Big Bads (like Tara, Jenny Calender, Jonathan, Cordelia, Wesley and even Joyce). This way Wesley and Cordy could actually have some bad-ass moves. Anya could start out as a bad guy but when she's defeated she becomes playable and a white hat.


It could be called Buffy the Vampire Slayer: THE Apocalypse (Really it is!) Maybe it's too fanwanky but it would be like having the ultimate crossover and being able to include all the great fighters from AtS like Illyria, Gunn, Connor and Wesley.

The brewing apocalypse on the hellmouth in Cleveland would also be a good reason for Angel, Spike, Riley and Oz to show up in present time to help stop THE Apocalypse (Even Illyria could show up with Angel and his crew post Ats Season 5). We could set the time at post BtVS season 7 but pre-Season 8 comics. But should it be post-AtF or pre-AtF? The one kink in this plan is what will Angel be post AtF but pre-Season 8? Human or Vampire? To avoid this issue, we could treat Angel the same as Anya, starting out as a bad guy (Angelus) but once defeated he becomes all soulful again.

Okay so how many levels should there be and who should we include? I'm gonna list every baddie I can think of to get it started. Dang it, we really need a poll for this. I'm putting them in order of when they had the biggest battles.
