I've always wanted a Buffy fighting game. I just want them to make it more fun than the Chaos Bleeds fighting mode.
But I will always hold out hope for a Buffy MMORPG.

Okay, so in the chatbox today we all had a little stroke of genius. When discussing the Buffy games, someone mentioned a Buffy fighting game. Along the lines of Mortal Kombat. Why...the hell...haven't we thought of this before?! My guess.... it would be a shitty game. Have you ever played the bonus/multiplayer on the first Buffy xbox game? It's very similar. I'd be very disappointed in game that only delivers the kind of material we already got as an easter egg. |

I love this idea, but what game station would it be for? I only have xbox, psp, and ds.

you could have evil willow and her special move could be that lightning bolt thing she does in season 6, and maybe also demon anya ? as a special un-lockable characther

While I like the idea, I just don't see it working real well without a good story to explain why all these people would be fighting. I think that story is what sells the game most times. I still think that a post Season Seven pre Season Eight game like the first Buffy game would work best. Or even an online "After the Fall" game where you are stuck in hell and have to survive.

Mikey, splendid idea! I especially liked the idea of having Joss be an unlockable character. I'm not sure if it was mentioned but maybe have Pike be one of the unlockable characters as well. Just for the record, I would love to be able to battle the forces of darkness in the Double Meat Palace uniform. lol  |

omg that sounds amazing i would also totally buy it if it came out for like xbox or nintedo wii i'm not planning on buying a ps3 but if could totally be made on that but it be cool i mean they did that for x-men and it be cool to see a fighting game like that i love street fighter and mortal kombat but it be cooler if they were like the first buffy game they looked more realistic if it's too anime/cartoonish it won't be as good as like realistic images like first games

Most people buy games for the gameplay, graphics, and controls. Not story. Yeah, as a writer I hate that. But it's true. We could easily come up with a reason for why they'd all be fighting. Well, even fighting games like Mortal Kombat have stories. Not as extensive as RPGs or Action Adventure games but something that still has a reason for the players to be in the ring fighting. I'm sure it will be very easy to figure out a story. I'd like to see The Gentlemen (maybe unlockable?) in the game. They can just float around and actually use their lackies to fight for them. It could work.  |
