Yes, and it is..
The whole plot is great, and the artwork over the years is consistently good. Great characters, great themes, and great story. I bought the tpb 1-6 online and I have the rest in single issues, so worth it!!

I'm thinking about buying volume 1, with 18 issues. Hope I like it.
EDIT- I wanted to buy it since Joss writes a few issues later on in the series and because Brian K. Vaughan wrote a lot of the issues of this series and No Future for You.

Skytte, buy it. I did for the same exact reasons. I wasn't disappointed, and now I like BKV's comics nearly as much as Joss's.

Runaways is the book that got me into Buffy. It's easily the best book Marvel puts out, and one of the best comics out there period. The trade paperbacks are nice and cheap (eight dollars, I believe) so you've got little to lose for picking up volume one and at least trying it.

Um YES. Runaways is one of my favorites. BKV is probably my favorite comic writer and this is some of his finest work along with Y: The Last Man. Usually in my world Joss is king, but Brian's work on the book was just so amazing and I was sad to see him go, even for some Jossness! If you liked NFFY, which IMO has been the best complete arc so far in Season 8, you will love Runaways. Buy them all!

I never read any runaways till i saw about it on a Joss fan site. I decided to give it a try as i was running out of comics to read so i gave it a stab.
Well worth it.
Chase is the best i feel. He has a Xander feel to him being the only 'normal one'

I've liked Chase more and more each time I read through the series. He's such a goofball. I'm starting to really enjoy Xavin too.

Id beg to differ about it being the best  but it is in the top 5 best comics from Marvel. They plan on making the movie in like 2011 I'm just worried that it wont do well because its not a well known comic. Like Spider man that is a household name so the movie was going to be a hit. Iron man was a little iffy. Not as many people had herd of him then Spider man or Xmen so again that was a risky thing bring out the movie but it worked.
Just hope the Runaways one works unless it falls through which i so hope it doesn't. |

I'm re-reading Runaways now since we started this little discussion. I want Old Lace to be real!! I LOVE HER!! haha and yeah one of the greatest things about this story is that they constantly make fun of other superheroes.

I just read issue 1-18 and I love it. I can't believe Alex did that. And I can't believe I can read a comic about super heroes and villians and time-travelers without thinking that it's silly and unrealistic. Thank God they all have flaws. I can't wait to see if Karolina makes a move on Nico.

Next month I'll buy the second volume. Now I'm of to read Spike: Old Wounds.

I know like making fun with code names and the battle cry : TRY NOT TO DIE! soooooooo funny I like that new girl Klara that Joss created. She reminds me of Tara somehow. |
