Man! The 3rd season of Angel is simply amazing so far. It doesn't take back two years (at least one) of slow storylines but season 3 is simply breathtaking. LOVES IT.

Season 3 is amazing. It's my favorite season.... and season 2. Seasons 2 and 3 are my favorite. 5 is next, then 1 (pretty much tied with 5, though), then 4 (I liked four, just not as much as the others). I actually can't think of a season that I didn't like.... obviously, I liked some more than others, but I liked all of the seasons. With Buffy, there are at least two seasons that I can't even stand to watch a lot of times (4 and 6).

I agree that season 4 of Buffy was disappointing. The Adam storyline didn't really catch my interest and many episodes halfway through the season were kind of blah. But there were so many good episodes scattered throughout the season!! And season 6 was WOW. Except the Riley episode.
I can't wait to watch season 4 of Angel. The fact that it is a "controversial" season makes me want to watch it. I should like it. This is probably the season I saw the least episodes from. Bisides the Angelus/Faith arc. And a few evil Cordy/Jasmine episodes. I am so luck to still have things to discover in the Buffyverse!

Yeah, I actually agree with mathieu. The only Buffy seasons that were weaker than the average Angel season were #1 and #7, in my eyes, and even those were better than the worst Angel seasons. Furthermore, I always get the impression that Angel, as compared to Buffy, is very directionless and "all over the place" (particularly visible in Cordelia's character arc, Connor's character arc and Season 4's main plot). But to each their own... THANK YOU! All over the place is exactly what the show seems to be at times. How can they start a great arc about Darla and end up telling a lame story that takes place in an alternate dimension (season 2)?? In BTVS it always seemed like the writers knew exactly where they were going and the plot was perfect, everything always fell back into place, except season 7 maybe. That wasn't by choice. Julie Benz was under contract to do a movie during the time the last few eps of S2 were to be filmed. She couldn't get out of it, and so the writers had to end her story early and come up with something else to finish the season with. Pylea may not have been the greatest arc ever, but I love the score music from it, and it gave us Fred.

I've always been a big fan of the Pylea arc. There was a surprising amount of character development over the course of those three episodes (namely from Angel, Wesley, Lorne, and Cordy). I always enjoy watching them.

I always enjoy watching them. I agree with you--I like it, too (I'm a big fan of Groo ). The only real problem with it, I think, is it's placement. It's not great as a season-ender. But since that's not something they could do anything about... *shrug*

I love both shows equally, they are different and all, but they do have that same Whedon spark And yes Dark Willow was an excellent idea, but when it was done she looked kinda lame ( the clothes, the special effects, the talk and especially her hair )

I used to like Buffy more but after getting all the Angel boxsets for christmas last year and watching them (I hadn't seen all the Angel eps. before that) I like Angel more. The reason being that it had Cordelia in it for one. Also that Angel wasn't such a soap opera. And the most important reason being that Angel didn't have a sad scene then turn around and throw in some (not needed) comedy to make it more light hearted. Buffy just became to involved for me and personally I think the characters were ruined (aka spike and buffy's relationship, spike almost raping Buffy, I am gay and do not mean this is a bad way but Willow turning into a lesbian kinda did it for me on liking her as much as I had before she was gay because I never have and never will see her as gay.) And finally I do not like how many female characters they killed.

I really don't see how people can't accept that Willow is gay. I don't feel like it was a sudden thing, I mean, we don't know what she was feeling because it was never explained, she just met Tara. I think it would of been easier for people to accept if they showed Willow trying to deal with her feelings before that, it would of been better.
It's not like it's uncommon for people to realise their sexual preference later in life. And she was only 18-19.

Meh maybe they don't like how in love she was with 2 men for three years, which then changed to a girl within a few episodes.
(I never had a problem with it personally)

I always thought nothing could ever beat BtVS. That was not to be disproved until Angel Season 3. I found the first two seasons "okay", but nothing in comparison to the Buffy Seasons 1 to 5. After that, Angel became better and better, the characters deeper and deeper and the morality line thinner and thinner.
Wesley and Fred were the ones to tip the scale, I guess. I absoluty adore BtVS, but Angel touched me much more and had a much bigger impact on my personality.
My ranking of the specific seasons: Angel Season 5 Angel Season 3 Buffy Season 2 Buffy Season 5 Angel Season 4 Buffy Season 3 Buffy Season 1 Buffy Season 4 Buffy Season 7 Angel Season 2 Buffy Season 6 Angel Season 1

Agreed xanderharris, but the reason I dont like the wole Willow's "Gay" thing is because as much as it pains me to admit it Oz is a way better person for Will than tara would ever be. He never tried to control her as she did. I personally LOVE Kennedy though, and do agree with that relationship. So I kinda just changed my opion, I think my issue with her being gay is only brought up by my extreme hate for that bulky, ugley, and untalented Tara.

I like them both equally, or at the very least, i like them both so much that the difference is negligible. I never had a problem with the willow being gay thing, I mean, some people get married before they come to terms with their sexuality...

If Willow was with Oz when her magic was getting out of control, I'm sure Oz would of tried to help her stop using magic like that. Just like Tara did. It wasn't healthy for Willow. Remember, it was a metaphor for drug abuse. Tara never tried to control her. And puh-lease, Tara had natural beauty. PS. It sounds like you're saying you only accept someone being gay if they're with a person you like.

Yeah, Tara had natural beauty that's call "LARD". And no I am not saying that I only accept people who are gay when they are with someone I like. God grow up, I'M GAY HELLO! And Oz never once said anything about her uses of magick he even helped her out wtih it at times.

Oz never said anything cos Willow was never abusing magic when she was with Oz. Tara didn't say anything to Willow until she started ABUSING MAGIC AND BECAME ADDICTED. Tara helped Willow with magic, she was a witch aswell, you know. Tara wasn't skinny, but it's not like she was fat. She had the littlest bit of chub, which is a lot better looking than being anorexic.

That's extremely rude to put it like that, making a statement like that is just asking for someone to fight with you.
