Yeah her final transformation is a doll, we saw the cover unless it iis just forn a joke or nod to the cover for issue 4. I'm kind of hoping for the doll or that thricwise squid looking thing. Hopefull Buffy and co would help her then, they don't seem to be doing much to help her. Is this bothering anyone else? Well, they've tried to help her but she's not cooperating very well. She won't give Willow the info she'd need to reverse the spell. I don't think she wants to be helped. I think she likes being interesting and useful and wants to stay that way.

Well out of 22 issues they've tried to help her twice...maybe three and not exactly big attmepts. Willow in issue 9-biggest attmept that got interupted by renee Xander in issue 10- but I suppose he was promised not to tell but still if it would help her I would have mentioned it to Willow Buffy in issue 1- but it turned into a mini argument ending with "your butt loooks big in those giant pants"

Note to self- Hide mini - Dawn on Twilight's person. She will learn all.
If season 5 didn't wear out her 'don't kill the hostage' cards. Personally, Dawn better get some great coverage. I am easily annoyed by Dawn's dismissive attitude towards Dawn. For all of the other Slayers they made, Buffy only has one often ignored little sister.

I agree i think there is definetly a part of Dawn that enjoys being these mythical creatures as she finally has a role in the group and is more than just watcher junior. Theres a lot more to the Dawn story we dont quite know yet and im excited as to where it is going.

Fair enough she accepted that but now shes had a taste of true power not potential power, and part of her does enjoy that.

I'm not sure how Dawn feels about her transformations, but her "tsunamic reaction" to Xander implying that she did it on purpose was a little defensive?
I also thought that Xander's "quit your whining" moment to Dawn in "Time of Your Life" was maybe caused by jealousy. Another Scooby is all magical and empowered, and Xander is left alone again. And Dawn isn't even appreciating how special being a centaur is, she's just bitching about it, and I think Xander was maybe a little jealous and annoyed by that. I think that, no matter how mature he is now, part of Xander would love to have powers and be the centre of attention for once. Even for a little while.

I think Dawn may not be admitting even to herself that she likes the things that are happening to her.

Hmmmmm interesting. All will be revealed in issue 25 i think and if not then hey we have still got till issue 40 to resolve it. As for Xander, i completely agree with what your saying, Dawn is being rather ungrateful for these powers, but then thats just Dawn, shes never happy. Im curious as to what she can gain from being a doll, if that is the next transformation?? Its a bizarre choice but im sure itll be comedy gold.

She can hide easily and spy on people... like Twilight, maybe? 2. She can get through tiny spaces that other people can't. 3. If her body is made of doll material, she'll be hard to hurt... she can just be sewn up again if something happens to her. And she probably doesn't need to breathe or eat or sleep.

I think that this is the only way she feels a parto of the group, in the series wev'e seen her grow but not like a hero, a fighter..Until the scene in chosen where she attacks the uber-vamps,i think dawnie needs more action.

I think Dawn's transformations continue to reflect her neglected relationship with Buffy. She becomes a Giant to get attention from Buffy who is completely focused on her new sisters, her "race of slayers" she's given birth to. Dawn then becomes a mystical being, a centaur, which is even more astonishing because she's not just bigger (while still completely human and Dawn-like) in size but half-horse now. Yet Buffy leaves Xander holding the "bag of oats" while she goes off to deal with Slayer business in NYC. Remember when Dawn being in trouble became Buffy's immediate priority?
Next Dawn will transform into a doll, rendered tiny and ineffectual by Buffy's continued lack of attention. Not only are we witnessing a diminution of size but also of power. Giant!Dawn was able to fight bigger opponents then Centaur!Dawn. Doll!Dawn will be the greatest loss of power as she becomes a plaything, a doll, that is easily manipulated and even more easily ignored.

Jo Chen is probably the best comic book artist out there, but that cover is disturbing. The thrice-wise...ewwww a little too realistic there. I mean Dawn looks great but the thrice-wise, creepy looking. I think i might get a Jeany cover for the first time.

My first thought was "What the #@$%?!?" and then "What will that look like on the shelf?" Completely threw me. I understand this was taken from a harlequin romance novel pretext, but really, does there have to be a *insert female external reproductive sex organ here*? I now agree with whoever said that the dress Dawn is wearing looks like the same one she wore in the Gift. No way. MUCH more cleavage on this version.

If that was the cover of a Harlequin romance novel, I'd risk the strange looks and actually buy it. Would even make a great cover for the Vagina Monologues. There, I said it. It's not a dirty word at all.

Here's a new one-line description for the story, as found on the Predators and Prey TPB summary on Amazon's Canadian site: www.amazon.ca/Buffy-Vampire-Slayer-Season-Predator/dp/1595823425/It's bolded below in the text in the spoiler tags. Buffy's world goes awry when former-classmate-turned-vampire Harmony Kendall lands her own reality TV show, "Harmony Bites," bolstering bloodsucking fiends in the mainstream. Humans line up to have their blood consumed, and Slayers, through a series of missteps, misfortunes, and anti-Slayer propaganda driven by the mysterious Twilight, are forced into hiding. In Germany, Faith and Giles discover a town where Slayers retreat from a world that has turned against them, only to find themselves in the arms of something far worse.A rogue-Slayer faction displaces an entire Italian village, living up to their tarnished reputation as power-hungry thieves. And finally, with the help of a would-be demon lover, Dawn addresses her unfaltering insecurities. EDIT: Like the other post in the #24 thread, I'm putting the entire thing in spoiler tags just in case. Again, thanks for posting. *karmas*

I just re-read #1 and Dawn says that "once she becomes person sized, she's out of there." Buffy even mentions she should be at Berkley. Once her transformations are done, do you think she is leaving the group?
