True, she already is a living doll sort of. I assume this issue will involve her final transformation and also give us the full story on it. Looks like this will go down when Buffy is away with Andrew, maybe that will explain the Xander/Dawn of it all. Maybe he is the only one around when this stuff goes down.

Living doll? Also, no way! But I thought someone should have said it by now. Looking forward to some Xander and Dawn-time. I think 'Anywhere But Here' has been my favourite issue so far: all the daft giant demons in the world can't compete with the Scoobies, shooting the chat and growing as characters. And I love Dawn! She gets a bad rep, but she's awesome in season seven, and it's been a shame that her whole arc this series has been built around whacky reveals. Not fun. MB x

i also herd the titles for the upcoming issues are a.k.a "five by five" and will once again center around faith and giles for a five part arc.

Scott Allie recently said that the arc will not be titled "Five By Five" and it's been public knowledge for some time now that only one issue (#24) will star Faith and Giles in this arc.

The arc is officially titled Predators and Prey. This was relayed from Joss to Scott Allie today.

Predators and Prey makes sense as it's the Buffy part of this set I guess. It might also carry the theme of the 5 quite well with the horribly misguided public reaction and depiction of vampires and slayers.
Looking forward to this set of standalones. They are my favourites amongst the comics so far anyway. Woop

I am happy with "Predators And Prey" being the arc name. Suits the story of the issues well.

Is this issue a part of Predators and Prey or is it a stand alone? I was under the impression that "After These Messages" was going to be the last stand alone.

Issues 21-25 are all standalones in a sense, featuring different characters in each, but they will all form an arc. It's kinda like the comic arc equivilant of "Conversations With Dead People".

A lot of people have been mentioning Dawn and her changing in this issue. Yes, I'd love that...because I think her transformations are becoming a little...lame? and I don't really see the point of them. But that's beside the point.
What do you think happens to Dawn when she finishes her transformations? Does she just go back to being a normal person? And do you think we will see the thricewise that did it to her at all?

Haha, I know they are pseudo-standalones. But it is one arc, just told from different perspectives. I see that you put 25 in Predators and Prey, so that answers my question.

Sb may have already asked or suggested this but, if Dawn is supposed to get back to her true form after her third transformation, will she turn into normal-person Dawn or key-energy-ball Dawn?
Also, why's Twilight so connected with Xander and Dawn lately?
And... are we conspiring about sth it's gonna be released in May? lol

Ahh that's a good point. Maybe her form is going all kerfluey because she doesn't exist in her true normally anyway? I think Dawn will have her final transformation in this issue. I'm sure there will be some more Xawn/Dander in here as well. The only part that bugs is that she was only a centaur for 2 arcs which we be a span of 10 issues. She was a giant for 16 issues of season 8 and quite some time before the season started.. It's just weird.
I also think that Twilight will be revealed this issue!
I'm excited for the cover... it will be are first Xander/Dawn cover by Jo Chen!

Ew Xander and Dawn...please no. I think Dawn might turn into a doll as her final transformation. But I do hope she turns human again soon. Otherwise they might tire the story.

I so agree Slayer489. I don't want to see any Xawn loving. It just seems gross... Anyway I hope Dawn becomes something cool, and I hope the Faith/Giles issue is good..

So this issue is going to major for a few reasons. Hugely spoilerific and in-depth theory behind the spoiler cut: 1. Joss specifically chose Doug Petrie for this issue, so while the other issues were a bit flexible there was specific intent here in choosing Petrie.
Petrie writes episodes that are game-changers. Huge moments for the characters that literally change the entire playing field. These episodes are always big plot points where secrets are revealed that relate to the greater themes of the season.
No throwaway funny episodes here on this list above. So Petrie writing Issue 25 Living Doll means it's time to get serious, something big is about to happen.
2. Issue 20's Slay the Critics reveals that "Doug Petrie will wrap up this arc with another Twilight turning point."
3. Issue 25 features Xander and Dawn. Xander and Dawn have shared the most one-on-one time with each other throughout Season 8. Most of their time together has revolved around him comforting her about being a Giant and also getting her to open up about what happened with Kenny. Their interactions have all revolved around Dawn's issues where Xander is comforting her (barring the battle scenarios of ToYL where after they talked, Dawn and Xander get all fight-y with the bad guys).
So how do Xander, Dawn and Twilight relate in what will be a huge turning point episode written by Petrie, an episode where secrets are revealed and the rules of the game change? It's all about magic. Dawn's entire life is being messed with by magic. She feels "like a freak" because she's no longer herself. So would it be fair to say that Dawn isn't a huge fan of magic at the moment? I think so. And who wants to end the age of magic? Yep, that nice super-powerful man, Twilight.
The title Living Doll could be read as very significant here. A synonym for "doll" is "puppet". So who is the "living puppet" in this scenario? I think it's Dawn and Twilight is going to manipulate her because of how magic has been affecting her all season. Twilight might even be responsible for how magic has been transforming her. Either by sending Kenny to get close to Dawn or by watching Dawn from a distance (the way he's been spying on Buffy) and then putting the Giant/Centaur whammy on her.
*** Just wanted to add that these ideas came to me during a brainstorming discussion with King of Cretins.***

Wow that was amazing, Emmie. I honestly think Twilight will be revealed in this issue. We've waited long enough. I also think some form of Xawn is gonna happen. I also agree that Dawn might be manipulated by Twilight and this will be discovered this issue.. Those are my thoughts *fades away*
