I am kinda disappointed that this doesn't seem to be focusing on Xander much, as I always look forward to issues that focus on him, WaTG was supposed to be a very Xander centric arc, and it was kinda, but not ALL that much. Here's hoping.

So who wins... Willow's buxom green snake babe, or Dawn's vag-mouthed tentacle monster?
This season rocks.

So... looking at the high-res Chen cover... Dawn got stacked! That or that corset she's wearing is totally overselling the goods. Or maybe heaving supple bosoms are a romance novel staple, and this Dawn appears appropriately "heavy".

Scott Allie did confirm in one of the last couple of Q&A's that it was "Dawn and the thricewise" on Jo's #25 cover, so tho he didn't mention Kenny by name, I'd assume that's who this is. But we also so a photo of him and Dawn in #10, and he looked human (and kinda like Andrew, actually ), so thricewises must be able to alter or hide their true appearances, a la Ashanti's character in S7, or Praying-Mantis Lady in "Teacher's Pet". I don't think Dawn would've gone out with him if she'd seen him looking like this... I love both covers!! ;D So... looking at the high-res Chen cover... Dawn got stacked! That or that corset she's wearing is totally overselling the goods. Or maybe heaving supple bosoms are a romance novel staple, and this Dawn appears appropriately "heavy". Well, MT is packing a little more than most people probably think, but I'd say it's probably the corset and the angle here more than anything else...

And I think a big part of it is me having not seen Dawn as a proper adult, in life. But I guess looking at MT in Gossip Girl, the girl is all grown up now.

Is it just me or on the variant cover. It looks like Buffy is wearing the same shirt Geneieve was wearing in the fight against Faith in NFFY. And Dawn looks like she's wearing the same dress from The Gift.

My prediction for this issue: Once Dawn's transformations are complete she will learn that she can control them, taking any of those forms (and maybe others) at will. This will have nothing to do with the Thricewise, but is a planned feature of her body placed there by its creators, to be "unlocked" upon adulthood. (i.e., losing her virginity).
This new ability will make her a vital part of the team (like she's already been with her transformations so far... stopping Amy, stopping the vamps and Mecha-Dawn in Tokyo, saving Xander by letting him ride her). This is what she's always wanted... to be a valued part of the group and not just the tag-along sister or damsel in distress.
In this issue I predict she will use her abilities to foil an attack, saving many lives, including Buffy's, and will discover the identity of Twilight.
(At least that's how I'd write it.)

This is a very interesting theory. but thanks to Emmie, I keep bringing myself back to the theory that Dawn is going to betray Buffy. Buffy was told by Robin that she would suffer the closest betrayal. Think..."closest". This to me says that its Dawn. She might get pissed at the lack of attention that she is getting from Buffy towards her state and she goes to find answers. Magic caused Dawns tranformations and Twilight wants to end magic. It all fits together. And also, my theory.....Xander is Twilight. But I will be PISSED if he is.

This is a very interesting theory. but thanks to Emmie, I keep bringing myself back to the theory that Dawn is going to betray Buffy. Buffy was told by Robin that she would suffer the closest betrayal. Think..."closest". This to me says that its Dawn. You could make a case for any of them, though. Xander and Willow are both closer to Buffy than Dawn is. Xander would probably be the most unexpected. Willow has kind of been eliminated through sheer obviousness (strange as it is to say). Giles is probably the one most likely to turn against her, but he's neither that close anymore, nor would it be that unexpected. Buffy already feels betrayed by him. She might get pissed at the lack of attention that she is getting from Buffy towards her state and she goes to find answers. Magic caused Dawns tranformations and Twilight wants to end magic. It all fits together. I honestly don't get the feeling that's the direction they have in store for Dawn, but I couldn't really say. After watching Twilight launch a missile at her home and kill at least 7 of her friends, she'd have to be a mighty cold-hearted bitca to go looking to him for anything. I think Dawn secretly likes her transformations, which is why she won't give Willow the information she'd need to break the hex (or so she thinks). She likes that she's now interesting and able to make a real difference, and the center of attention. Xander was almost on the nose when he asked Dawn if she turned into a giant on purpose. She didn't... but the secretly didn't want to go back to being Plain Old Dawn either. I think we'll get to see Dawn become a hero in her own right this season. And also, my theory.....Xander is Twilight. But I will be PISSED if he is. At the end of ToYL, Xander was there fighting the snake-soldiers in the forest at the same time Twilight was watching that battle with Amy and Warren. So unless he can be in two places at the same time, Xander can't be Twilight. My theory was Andrew, but if that's his internal narration we're seeing on the issue #23 preview pages, it's unlikely. Twilight wouldn't be saying nice things about the Slayers in the privacy of his own head. But it could be Buffy's narration. Not sure.
