I understand your point about Joss doing Season 8 and that is what you consider the 'real buffy', but this reboot is supposedly going back to the very beginning of buffy so it's not even comparable to season 8. Like I said earlier, Whit Anderson claims to be a buffy fan, so her script will most likely/hopefully take the original buffy storyline into consideration therefore making the reboot share more than just the name. I mean, I wish they would just make it simple and keep the same characters from the original- Pike, Benny, Merrick, Kimberly, Nicole etc.. they should definitely leave Lothos behind though. It needs a fresh new villain. I stick by my thoughts in my earlier posts about ideas of where they could take it through a trilogy. The world shown in 'Normal Again' would be a perfect opportunity to show a new, darker version of Buffy while still being connected to the original Buffy. I don't know though, even though I imagine that being amazing, in all likelihood it will not happen. I may be singing a totally different tune about this reboot when we actually discover what the plot will be. I agree! Having all of those characters back would be great! A little continuity from the first film would be lovely. I'm stoked for this! I think we should all have an open mind, especially since it's being penned by a BtVS fan. Of course, there are going to be many that jump on and criticize it just because Joss isn't a part of it, but that's neither here nor there. If you decide to hate it before the main character has even been cast, there's not much of a chance that you'll like it at all, even if it does turn out to be good.

Ok, so now that I have been better informed *thanks againEric* I guess my stance on this reboot idea is why go there? Why reboot something that is still currently developing? It's just like all these remakes and unecessary sequels hollywood's been putting out recently, people just don't have new ideas so they're redoing the good old ideas. The more I learn about this project the less I like it. I'd rather Joss keep doing the comics, and then when he's ready to do a really great Buffy movie that ties the original movie in with the TV show, that'll be the only time I will be interested. It's pointless to go and redo all this Buffy when Joss is the one still developing Buffy in the comics.
Ugh hollywood pisses me off.
Anyhoo, I hope that if this movie does take off, Whit doesn't ruin it. I don't know why they would do Buffy without Joss, that's so rude. At least with the Star Trek reboot the creator wasn't still alive and willing to do a movie...lame.

I was thinking...
If this movie does well, maybe we could have a new "every Halloween" type franchise like the Saw movies.
Some possible sequel ideas... Buffy Vs Dracula - I know it was a series ep but think of it as a big screen movie. Since they are now at Warner Bros, perhaps the studio could talk to Summit Entertainment, and then maybe we could get a Buffy vs Edward.

I Would SOOO watch A Very Buffy Christmas!!!!!!! Especially if it was kinda like the Doctor Who Christmas specials.
And with the success of the direct to dvd market these days, a franchise of new Buffy movies in this format could be very successful... direct to dvd standards of coarse. They could show them on Syfy as original movies. Branch out and spinoff into other things to keep it fresh. Movies about past slayers could be awesome.

www.movieweb.com/news/NEoQhvXpw6FDspHeather Morris She's a college grad out in the world. Hybrid of show and movie. Rumors... all Rumors. Not so sure on the choice of Heather Morris. But at the same time all we have ever seen her play is stupid. Never seen her act or "act" normal. Also makes it seem this will be more chick flick than the scary movie that I was hoping for. But at the same time the premise could be interesting. How is even a superhero dealing in today's economy. So all the Kuzui's AND Dolly Parton had to do to make money off Buffy was sit on their a$$!!! DrGreenEvil
