i, personally, am in love with Eliza Dushku... I think Emma is amazingly stunning and Aly has her moments of hotness, and i find Sarah hot at times, but for the most part, i am in utter and undeniable love with Eliza Dushku.

I found all of the female Buffy cast members extremely attractive. The Angel ones, too.
But, I have very wide-ranging tastes in beauty.
Alyson, Michelle, Charisma, and Emma are all particular favorites.

Michelle T. and Amy Acker are the two most beautiful women in the entire Whedonverse, hands down. Sarah was gorgeous, in all her various looks, thru S6 (not a fan of her S7 stylings). Aly is the cutest cutie in Cutedonia, and Eliza positively defines sexy and sultry. Charisma... well, I liked her before the surgical improvements--afterwards, not so much. Julie Benz, Clare Kramer, and Emma, for whatever reason, never did anything for me, altho they're definitely all very attractive.

Sarah was gorgeous, in all her various looks, thru S6 (not a fan of her S7 stylings). We can no longer be friends... I liked her S7 stylings the best (in general). Did like that orange top in "The I in Team" (I think that was the ep) very much though... one of the only S4 outfits I approved of. |

More about the hair, that she'd gotten way too skinny (I know, I know--another hot-button issue with you!  ), and she just generally looked worn-out and tired, like 7 seasons of this stuff was finally catching up with her... |

She was really skinny, and SMG was spread pretty thin towards the end (losing her voice and all that), but I just thought it worked better anyway, since Buffy at that point was supposed to be worn out. They quite literally uplifted her in "Chosen" by pinning her bangs up in her "Choices" speech... not my favorite do, I'll grant you that. But clothes and hair-wise, in general, S7=a victory for me. |

It's not that the cast weren't easy on the eye 9although the stick thin look never works for me when it comes to sex appeal) its just that I hear things like "Spike is so HOT you goota see that show!". Now if the only thing to recommend the show is how hot someone is, then that show is in trouble. In fact, if people are commenting on how good looking the cast are, then the show is doing something wrong.

I can't say I started watching because of the hotness, but damn, it definitely didn't hurt...
Eliza looks amazing in a dirty beater and jeans and boots. Also amazing in head to toe leather and stilettos (what was that Dollhouse ep? drool.). She looks great in a prison jumpsuit. She'd look great in a potato sack. Or nothing. Whoa! did I say that?
SMG rings my bells, though. I think it's the blond hair. Blond hair is like my kryptonite... I am powerless to resist! Plus, she's just damned cute. Unstoppable cuteness. Cuteness and all that dark sexiness broiling just beneath the surface... Freddie Prinze is lucky, that's all I know.

I'd argue that it did hurt, in that it can interfere with any artistic or moral integrity to the project.
Take Spike. Here is a cold blooded killer, completely without remorse. But he came back and a lot of that was to do with the fan reaction to how sexy James was. All of a sudden SPike's misdeeds in the show are excused to some degree as they keep him on the show to grab the demographic that are lusting after him. It smacks of double standards. The show all too often came out as - evil is wrong, unless its perpetrated by someone hot looking. Not an ideology that I'm comfortable with.

You know what was also sexy about Buffy? The vulnerability SMG gave her. Buffy can't be hardcore all the time. Sometimes, she has to let her guard down and when she does, and she makes mistakes, or wants to love but it comes out wrong, she shows her humanity and that's appealing to me. I love the sexy that's the whole package, when it comes to why I love one of these characters. Buffy's appeal definitely takes the cake for me.

i loved the season 4 subtle hotness of willow & tara. and they have a very special way of being hot alone and with each other, not conventionally extra-attractive but beautiful (extremely cute) both in their own way. my *really* liking the show certainly had something to do with something like a libidinal undertow; i find the show sexy because it is so intelligent and finding it sexy is part of the pleasure it brings.

I agree with you Darth Rosenberg (XD great name). I think that it helps make the show undeniably easy on the eyes that all the characters are so damn sexy, which just allows you to slide so easily into viewing enjoyment.
