Strange question to ask I know but here is why i ask it:
I liked the show. I liked the writing (for the most part) and the acting. I liked the stories and I liked the mix of action and drama and humour.
However, one thing I never watched it for was cos i found any of the cast attractive. I never found myself consciously or otherwise responding to the attractiveness of the characters. To me it wasn't a factor, it wasn't anything to do with the show.
As a straight male, I found none of the men attractive but I didn't find any of the women attractive either. Good looking to be sure, but they could ahve been less than attractive and i still would have watched the show.
So was the attractiveness of the actors a factor in your watching or, like me, did you view it as completely irrelevant?

I've always thought that SMG is utterly stunning, particularly between S2-4. CC is a total knock-out also. I'm also an AB fan and i think everyone's gotta little AH thing going on, male or female. So yes, i like the hotties on the show.

I started watching Buffy when I was a kid, so when I started to "notice" people, I had already gotten used to how the actors looked. Kinda.
In Season 4, I realized that Spike was gorgeuos. So now when I re-watch Buffy, I mostly skip ahead to the Spike scenes.
Don't get me wrong, Buffy would be worth watching even with ugly actors, but I've gotten spoiled, so I would notice if all the actors were magically replaced with semi-good-looking actors.

I'm kinda like you ambersknight. Everyone was very attractive in their own way, but no one was really hot. Excpet for Charisma Carpenter. Buffy used to be hot before she got super skinny.  |

i liked how no one had super movie-star stunning looks. it made the feel of the show more realistic. of course, Aly, Amber, Sarah and Eliza are all beautiful, and David and Tony are both waay sexy, but they never had any kind of plasticky or too-much-makeupy sort of looks.
Gumgnome is right that everyone has some love for Aly Hannigan. her big eyes just make her so CUTE!!!

i liked how no one had super movie-star stunning looks. it made the feel of the show more realistic. of course, Aly, Amber, Sarah and Eliza are all beautiful, and David and Tony are both waay sexy, but they never had any kind of plasticky or too-much-makeupy sort of looks. I don't know, Sarah often got a lot of make up on (even when she was sleeping). In season 5, she just looked too Hollywood sometimes(not entirely the make ups fault, she is gorgeous). The hair, the make-up, the clothes. Too much. It's not unrealistic, I can see Buffy spending a lot of time on her self to make up for the anxiety of being a slayer, sort of a morning ritual, but she rarely looked like the girl next door. That was one of the good things about season 6. Too much unflattering eyeliner, less fancy hair, and ordinary working-mum clothes. |

Not gonna lie, I was turned on by some of the cast (although that's not why I watched the show). It's not my fault that Joss found such great and visually pleasing actors. I'm only human.

I never watched cause of looks, but i do think SMG, DB, CC AND JM are at the top of the pack as being the most attractive people on the show. They are good looking.

I didn't start watching because of someone's attractiveness or anything, but the Buffyverse has its fair share of beautiful women, that's for sure. Amy Acker is one of the prettiest women on the planet, for starters.  Sarah Michelle Gellar and Charisma Carpenter were always high on my list as well. |

Yeah, the cast of both shows are incredibly pretty people. They aren't all models, and I think that made them more attractive, they were actual people. BUT... Stephanie Romanov is easily the hottest woman I've ever seen on screen.  |

I think it was because SMG started wearing her own clothes. As for looking a little too decked out, wasn't that supposed to be kind of a running joke? Saving the world without breaking a nail. It wasn't supposed to be realistic. |

Oh I definitely have a big crush on SMG, and its probably one of the major reasons why I watched the show. The lack of SMG is probably one of the big reasons why I don't watch Angel.
