I think there is a very good chance that the demo will stay strong next week, and hopefully increase as well, hopefully because of word of mouth. The evidence here is the fact that Dollhouse only lost around 300,000 viewers from 9:30-10:00. That is pretty impressive. Plus the episode ended in a cliffhanger of sorts, or at least grabbed everyone's attention, and I think that will work in the show's favor as well. Waiting for the ratings next Saturday is going to be BRUTAL.

buffy didnt get good ratings off the bat. I think fridays are a horrible night for any Whedon show though. no one is ever home. again Fox is screwing over any sci fi show they've got.

Here's some good news for next week: While it's likely Dollhouse will drop a bit, next week's Flashpoint will be a repeat. Also, there isn't an amazingly well-marketed horror movie coming out either. Those are two big factors that could work in Dollhouse's favor. Who knows, maybe the ratings could go up a bit?

It's the second most downloaded T.V. episode on Itunes right now. I think that's a good sign. It's right under Battlestar Galactica. Will they ever average in number of times watched online, downloaded, and DVRed into the ratings? Or is it always just live?

That's great! I bet the DVR numbers will be huge too.

Do DVR numbers account, though? Because someone told me that they don't count in the DVR's since people just fast forward through the ads.

DVR numbers don't count towards overall ratings (as in, they aren't included in the 4.7 million viewers the premiere got), but they count towards the bottom line, and certainly don't hurt the show.

Oh, okay. That makes me happier then

Dollhouse getting new lead-in from Episode 10:
"Prison Break" will be the 8pm lead-in to Dollhouse from April 17th as Terminator exits the air, which should be when episode 10 of Dollhouse ("Four Engagements") airs.
and yes its number one on ITunes and downloads counts towards the show on ITunes... YAY!!

Let's hope Dollhouse doesn't get the same ratings as Sarah Connor then. This shows what FOX will cancel.

My prediction for this week's episode: 3-3.5 million. I'm pretty sure instead of smiley face, that should be a face crying on the ground holding on to FOX's leg begging them not to cancel it. I'm predicting more or less the same, anywhere from 4.25-5.0 million. Only 30,000 people stopped watching the show while it was airing last week, so hopefully mostly everyone will come back.

I'm an optimist haha. What was Terminator canceled with? 3 million, right? Oh, wait...I'm changing my prediction then! 4.0 million is a solid number.

It is rare to see ratings climb on a second episode of a new series, an the drop wasn't huge, so it could have been a lot worse.
