I'm just upset about the demo. That's what FOX's usual Friday night Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader and Don't Forget the Lyrics get. FOX can produce those shows season long with the budget of one or two Dollhouse episodes.

Damn.
This was so much better than Ghost.
Something good needs to happen, soon.
But what were Buffy's when they came in mid-season 12 years ago? Anyone know if they were similar?

FOX can produce those shows season long with the budget of one or two Dollhouse episodes. That is what worries me. Fox can easily make episode of shows like that for a much cheaper price and get the same amount of views. I REALLY want this show to live on.

Where is it compared to other shows on Friday nights?

I guarantee you, nothing about these numbers is coming as an unpleasant surprise to Fox.
"Target" is at #1 on Hulu and moving into the Top 10 on iTunes, where "Ghost" is still in the top 10.
I'm telling ya, it's on Friday nights because the TV broadcast is being considered a loss-leader.
Plus, DVR viewings add another 30-40% to the viewership, probably. That's the specific reason they put in such short commercial breaks... so that DVR viewers won't bother fast-forwarding through the commercials. This show is being specifically targeted to those viewers.
If the show can keep hovering in the 4-5 million viewer range (plus DVR's), and continue to do so well in downloads, Fox knows they'll be able to make a profit on the back end.

Where is it compared to other shows on Friday nights? "Target" was #2 in its time slot behind a rerun of Super Nanny

number two is good...just too bad it is behind a RERUN of a reality show!
I am banking on when it goes after american idol to bolster up some viewers. Espically sence rumors ahve the show hitting its stride around episode 6. If last night was a sign of how amazing these episodes are going to be, I am (cautiously) optomistic!
Also, I think they should definately start showing re-reuns on Scifi or something like that. Anyhting to attract viewers! Maybe in a few weeks, they should have a Dollhouse marathon. Maybe show the first 5 episodes over 2 nights, leading up to the 6th episode that starts the stride!

Could someone explain to me why anyone at all in the world would want to watch "Super Nanny"?
People would rather watch overweight, slope-headed crackers screaming at each other than watch Dollhouse? Really?
Maybe we should tell Buffy and Angel to relax and just let the Apocalypse happen. Sounds like we need it.

Personally, I can see why certain people don't want to watch Dollhouse and I respect that (mostly because I have my parents watching with me who can point out every flaw in the dialogue and premise). I personally enjoy it.

So it's no secret that Dollhouse's pilot didn't do as well as we all hoped... but there is hope, my friends... It had the highest male demographic for a show in FOX's "death slot" in a long long time... and i was thinking, I am a Charmed (and Buffy and Angel, dont' worry) fan until i die... and the Charmed Pilot, "Something Wicca this way Comes" held the record for viewers watching a pilot for a long time...
the pilot had roughly 7.7 million viewers... that's almost double of Dollhouse, but from season 4, the ratings began to PLUMIT season 4 had something like 3.8 season 5 had 4.2 Season 6 had 3.9 season 7 had 3.5 season 8 had 3.5
it amazes me that after 4 years of sketchy ratings (ALL LOWER THAN DOLLHOUSE MIGHT I ADD) it still was on the air...
in every show, no matter what, the ratings are always extremely high... and then fall dramatically at the second episode... for Dollhouse, the Pilot had 4.5 million and The Target had 4.2...
these numbers are surprising to me because i expected it to be down in the 3.6 mil. range...
i honestly think Dollhouse will get a second season, most likely not a full 22 ep. season, but it will end after season 2... i mean there are a lot of directions that Joss could take with Dollhouse that would be amazing, so, in my opinion, FOX should give Dollhouse a second season just because of the shitty way they treated him with Firefly:
AIRING THE EPISODES OUT OF ORDER, NOT AIRING 3 EPISODES, PUTTING IT IN THE DEATH SLOT? WHAT THE F*CK?
thank you for letting me rant... i understand if you couldn't read it because i am currently in history and i have to make it seem like i'm taking crazy amazing notes... so i just kind of kept typing... haha...

Yeah, but Charmed was on The WB. Those numbers were pretty much ratings gold for them. On the "big four" (ABC, NBC, FOX and CBS), those numbers for Charmed are terrible, it would have been cancelled no doubt.
It's sort of disappointing Eliza has a contract with FOX, if Joss brought Dollhouse to the CW, it could easily be on for years.

that's wayyy true... why did Joss go to FOX? after they f***** him over for Firefly? go to a new network, in my opinion, that's why Buffy did so well...

Would it be possible for it to move to the CW if Eliza has a FOX contract? I think money could also be a big factor, who knows if the CW could afford to keep the gigantimus set up, the budget would probably be lowered a lot too.
I think it'd be cool if FOX moved the show to FX. NBC did it with Law and Order: CI.
