Episode 1 - 4.7 million, 2.0 in 18-49 demo. Episode 2 - 4.2 million, 1.7 in 18-49 demo. Episode 3 - 4.1 million, 1.6 in 18-49 demo. Episode 4 - 3.5 million, 1.5 in 18-49 demo. Episode 5- 4.42 million, 1.5 in the 18-49 demo.Shame the viewers shot up, but not the demo. Terminator was right behind it this time with a 1.4 demo, it's highest yet since the Friday move. In spite of the demo, it's good to see that the viewers shot up. I guess everyone really was seeing Watchmen last weekend.

Increase in viewers and the demo stayed steady, that's definitely a win at this point. Watchmen was definitely the cause of the lower viewers last week. With BSG ending next week ( ) who knows what will happen.

What's the difference between the demo and the number of viewers?

That makes me very happy. Hopefully next week will have more views than the premiere! I could see that happening.

The Hollywood Reporter is saying the demo is actually 1.6/5 this week. So instead of holding steady, it increased a bit.

Sweet! Other sites that had 1.5 also changed it. Thanks Emmie!

That's a great increase over last week. Finally we're moving in the right direction.
I hope Fox will do an encore showing of next week's episode in a good timeslot. It looks like it'll be a hell of an episode, and it really needs to get seen by the people who aren't home on Friday night, or who will be watching the BSG finale instead.

"The demo" is short for the demographic. It means viewers aged 18 to 49, who are the people advertisers most want to reach on a show like this.

so 1.6/5 demo means 1.6 Million out of 5 Million 18-49 year old viewers watched it?

so 1.6/5 demo means 1.6 Million out of 5 Million 18-49 year old viewers watched it? The first number is the rating, the second is the share. The first number is the percentage of households in which someone was watching the show at any given moment during its broadcast. The second number is the percentage of televisions in use that were tuned to this show. So, for all households containing someone between the ages of 18 and 49, 1.6 percent were tuned in to Dollhouse at any given time during the broadcast. This includes homes where nobody was watching television at all, or nobody was even home. And 5 percent of all televisions that were being watched by someone between 18 and 49 were tuned in to Dollhouse. The show overall had a 2.6 rating and 4 share. This means that, of the 114.5 million households in the U.S. that have televisions, 2.6 percent of them had someone watching Dollhouse. And 4 percent of all the televisions in America that were turned on, were tuned in to the show.

Episode 5- 4.42 million, 1.5 in the 18-49 demo.Wow, that's surprising... where did all the viewers come from and why? I have several theories but none very satisfying to me. Given that the demographic is so wide, I'm not sure the addition of almost a million viewers makes sense with no change in the demographic viewers. Unless the extra 750,000 viewers are all baby boomers, or high schoolers... Edit: Thanks Emmie for the revision to 1.6 in the demo. That makes more sense now! But then, I'm not a TV numbers gal. There are people they pay to extrapolate and explain all these things, and I'm sure they'll be reasoning this. (Thanks to all in this thread who've explained it.) Since ep 6 marks the point where Fox got off Joss' back, I wonder if the demo will go up as interested viewers return to the show?
