I've got a theory that Alpha is the one behind the dolls mysteriously getting their original personas back. He obviously has the capacity exhibited in "Grey Hour", and the motive as freeing Echo seems to be his mission.

OooooOOOoooo, wow they're doing the escape thing really quickly in the storyline. I hope the show gets a second season.

They're escaping already? Wow.
I wonder how they'll keep them there, or if their personalities are permanent?

Why is Topher in the chair? And that dress Echo is wearing when she is with Paul makes her look hotter than usual.. if that's possible.

Click here for some spoilers about what to expect in this ep. Click on the spoiler tags for the relevant bit: Ever wonder what would happen if the Actives on Dollhouse suddenly woke up? Well, your wishes are granted in the April 6 episode "Needs." Five Actives—Echo (Eliza Dushku), Victor, Sierra, November and Mike—suddenly awaken and question where they are, what they are doing there and who is in control. The Actives start to remember things about their real lives and reveal more of their backstories, including the fact that November left someone very important behind when she entered the Dollhouse.

Reply to the above spoiler: Echo, Victor, Sierra, November, and MIKE Could NATO not think of something better for M? hahaha Also, because his name is so offkilter and we haven't seen him before (I assume Mike is male , perhaps we will see a Doll death? Has red-shirt written all over it.

Reply to reply above: As it turns out, Mellie's isn't just the sleeper Active anymore... if this is reliable, then Mellie is confirmed to be November. Unless of course another character is introduced to fill that part. Which I would find kinda superfluous, to be perfectly honest.

I just looked at that picture, and Paul looks much hotter than normal...if that's possible. Perhaps Echo got her memory back when she was in the chair, and "Did I fall asleep?" Topher was right there, so she rightly assumed that he was the one wiping her, so maybe she'd give him a taste of his own medicine? That, or he was just the nearest person to her when she realized what was going on.

Added the promo. This episode looks absolutely incredible! But like others have mentioned, I can't believe how early this is happening. For some reason it slightly worries me. Based on the promo, seems like it's an effect from the drug in Echoes.

Based on the promo, seems like it's an effect from the drug in Echoes. I'm not at all worried. Joss was quoted as saying he has plans for several seasons into the future of the Dollhouse. And it's not like the dolls getting their memories back means they'll necessarily get out or that they can't be wiped again.
Even if they do escape, there's Dollhouses around the world. That's a lot to run up against.
I'm just sitting back for the wild, twisty ride. I know I'll be surprised and that I'll love it.

Yeah, but it just seemed like this would happen a lot later in the series and last for more than a few episodes... I'm not that worried, but if Dollhouse does continue for a few seasons it'd seem like one of the best stories was already wasted. But you're right, it's Joss, there's probably a lot more.

But think about it - the Dolls getting back their memories is what everyone is waiting for. For it to take several season would be tooooooooo long. I'd stop caring by that point. There are more stories to be told there and I don't see why the writers can't have the Dolls have a moment of clarity only to be wiped again. And also, they don't have the luxury of not paying off storylines here. The one season might be all we get. I hope not but still Joss is going to wrap up some story arcs and then reinvent them. Like how ANGEL S4 was so drastically different from ANGEL S5.

There is no problem with it, I'm hella excited for this. Just didn't expect it to be so soon, I'm sure the writers know what they are doing, not meaning to doubt them at all.
