i just got my issue(or downloaded whatever).
and i liked it very very much...
i could see the buffy/giles talk, like i was watching the show...
the story moved great....
the best issue in a lonnnnnnnng time...
about the warren andrew... i think it was cool to see it.
for me it was like: "we saw andrew being part of the family, and now we saw he's prooving"...
it was good to see how twi is finding them...
and better to see how willow have to stop using her magic.
i think the next issue gonna bring the hole, my exboyfriend werewolf gonna help me thing, and for that i think were gonna see more of kennedy.

about twi being xander... if would be him, i would got really surprised. and i don;t think he's gonna be the betrayal. could be dawn's.
we know her story not over...
and willow off table, so does faith, cause shes betraying buffy wouldnt be so big, cause you its faith. Giles, i think giles on... but i dont think its him because hes giles.... andrew couldnt be too hes just got to be part of the family... so...
it was left, dawn, giles, satsu, e oz??? i dont know...
and for twilight, i think is ethan... dont know why, but i think hes not dead...

Yaaaayyyy. I'm going pick up #26 today. Lol, two months of impatiently waiting and i blank on the date last week and didnt realize until it was too late. But i'm goin today so its kool. im excited. lol.

im gonna say my theory about what you looking foward MATHIEU:

1. Is Willow going to go dark again at the end of the season? probably. i think it will be one of the great factors that will make buffy want to end the magic.
2. Are Willow and Buffy going to drift apart? i think they gonna fight, not like in two to go, grave kinda way, more like, dead man party(season 2) kinda way.
3. What role is Oz going to play exactly? i think he's gonna teach will how to control her magic like he control his beast, so she wont be dark again
4. Are Willow and Kennedy break up because of Oz? dont think so.
5. Who the hell is Twilight? one million dollar question, im thinking Ethan?
6. Are Xander and Dawn going to end up together? i hope not. they brothers, i see them like that. so, i really hope they wont.
7. Are we going to see the end of magic? i really don't think so. i think buffy will want to. but she wont do it. cause we know a season 9 is coming sooooo, we need magic.
8. Does Andrew of any interest for Twilight? i dont think so. i think warren just tryied to lure him to betray buffy. just this.

Who's going to betray Buffy eventually? i think maybe Dawn? i see a scenario where buffy and willow and xander and giles going to break up. and dawn gonna turn against buffy cause shes not gonna agree with the end of magic, and she's probably gonna do something thar gonna be a huge betrayl for buffy.
10. Is there anything more that can happen between Buffy and Satsu? i dont think so.
11. Is the scythe spell going to be reversed? i think. in the end of the season 8 the spell gonna be reversed. and that gonna be the premise of season 9? buffy having to deal with being the only chosen one again?
12. What's in store for Amy and Warren? i think amy and warren are there to be willow and andrew nemesis...
13. On which side exactly is Riley playing now? good good good question. if the mark gives brain control i think hes on the good side. otherwise, he deserve to die die die! hehehehe

At some point before the end of the season, but I doubt she will end the season that way. I doubt her ToYL future will come to pass (on this timeline).

2. Are Willow and Buffy going to drift apart?

There will be a rift which will be healed by the end of the season.

3. What role is Oz going to play exactly?

To teach Buffy and the Slayers to mask their magic; to give some good advice from an outside perspective (something they haven't had yet this season), and possibly to offer his help personally in the fight.

4. Are Willow and Kennedy break up because of Oz?

No. More likely because of Saga Vasuki.

5. Who the hell is Twilight?

No idea.

6. Are Xander and Dawn going to end up together?

Yes, but it won't last.

7. Are we going to see the end of magic?

I don't know how that will work out.

8. Does Andrew of any interest for Twilight?

No.

9. Who's going to betray Buffy eventually?

Nobody. It will be Buffy who does the betraying (thinking it's for a good reason).

10. Is there anything more that can happen between Buffy and Satsu?

Sure.

11. Is the scythe spell going to be reversed?

Possibly, but there will be a twist.

12. What's in store for Amy and Warren?

Amy will be killed, and Warren will die when her spell fails.

13. On which side exactly is Riley playing now?

He'll turn out to be on Buffy's side.

Yeah, I'll think she'll come back for an issue or two. It seems like her story could be heading in that direction. Buffy vs. Twilight vs. Dark Willow... that's something I'd like to see.

2. Are Willow and Buffy going to drift apart?

Yeah definitely. Hopefully not for too long though.

3. What role is Oz going to play exactly?

I'm leaning towards him helping out Willow and the Slayers, show that they can control the magic and their demon sides, but then all hell is going to break lose at the end of the arc and Oz will be a casualty.

4. Are Willow and Kennedy break up because of Oz?

Not at all. Maybe some tension, but I think we're way past Willow and Oz.

5. Who the hell is Twilight?

I'm clueless. Leaning towards Ethan though. Or Hank.

6. Are Xander and Dawn going to end up together?

They have been spending a lot of time together and have made lots of dirty jokes. After the knocking thing and the "double-meaning" AndrewCrossett posted about, I won't be surprised if they do.

7. Are we going to see the end of magic?

No. There will be a Season 9, right? So unless they do something crazy, like having it take place in another dimension, then no.

8. Is Andrew of any interest for Twilight?

Unless Twilight loves Star Wars, Star Trek, Doctor Who, James Bond, etc.

9. Who's going to betray Buffy eventually?

Buffy. Herself. No one else makes sense to me since we saw that part in Anywhere But Here.

10. Is there anything more that can happen between Buffy and Satsu?

The sexual part of their relationship seemed like it ended in Wolves at the Gate, and Satsu got over her in Swell. I can't see anything else happening besides being good friends.

11. Is the scythe spell going to be reversed?

It could, but the scene in Chosen is just so perfect and gave the television series a perfect end. So I hope it stays intact. Maybe Slayers stop being in squads and just live their lives.

12. What's in store for Amy and Warren?

They will both die. Killed by Twilight. But my fantasy is that Amy finds out Twilight's ultimate plan, reverses the spell keeping Warren alive, goes to help Buffy and Co., and then off to be rehabilitated ala Willow Season 7. Amy deserves it.

13. On which side exactly is Riley playing now?

Hope he'll help Buffy in the end, but I think for now he is on Twilight's side. There just better be a good reason why, because I can't see Captain America aiding in killing these girls.

Really enjoyed this issue. I hope the Wicca-Slayers are seen more, it's good to have some sort of consistency with the background Slayers rather that random background girls. Plus the girl with a bow in her hair was puuurdy.

Is it just me or are ALOT of Slayers dying!? I cringed waaay back in "The Chain" when the Slayer died, so imagine how I'm feeling now that hundreds are dying.

Having said that, I am a fan of how Joss is shaking up the playing field even more and has destroyed the comfort zones (Andrew's Squad, The Castle, The New Hideout).

Although I do have one question - where the hell are all these demons coming from!?

The same place they've always come from... but the ones that attacked the Scotland base were most likely local, if that's what you mean.

Really enjoyed this issue. Thought it was a great start to what promises to be a great arc with Jane Espenson at the helm (plus, she is one of my fave Buffy writers).

I loved the Buffy/Giles moment. Really touching. Something I think we were all waiting to see.
The Giles and Faith scenes were hilarious as well. Great to see Giles back in the mix.
The Oz moment at the end: PRICELESS! Can't wait to see more of him and his interaction with the group (most especially Willow). Yay, for Oz's return! Wondering how his presence will shake up the group dynamic, if at all.

These are my thoughts for now. More to come after I reread the issue. Overall, really superb, wonderful issue. Can't wait to see this arc unfold!

I love this issue!
The best I've read in a long while, I was disappointed with Living Doll but this has got me hooked again!
It had the right balance of comedy (LOVED the Buffy fish - Buffish?)
I've been waiting so long for the gang to be back together and I'm glad they are now, but I expected more animosity between Faith and Buffy. I guess there will be fireworks eventually...
The action was perfect that went along with the battle scenes; big explosions, lots of magicks, dead Slayers, dead Demons, fried Wiccas and it's good to see Giles is still concerned about Willow.
And Oz.

This issue is by far the best in the season 8 collection. I've decided to give full reviews on each issue from this one onwards, in hopes to analyze everything in order to understand how things will come together in the end. Just to help me out, and possibly give you guys something to talk about. It'd be cool if this thread reached 50pgs, coz the issue deserves a lot of praise.

-Okay so we start with Buffy and Willow retreating back into their newly acquired base. I've got to say, the cameos of old characters from the season sure put a smile on my face; its good to see Satsu again.

-I'm really loving the Faith/Giles relationship. But something that I am a bit squirmy on is the question "Why is Giles involved with this?" Now I ask the question because in season seven, he fought his war, taught his slayer everything, and was pretty much done in that area of Watcher-ness. And I am not trying to discuss "who twilight is" but with the whole tracing magics, etc, why would the demons suddenly FIND where Faith and Giles was unless some sort of magic was going on down there, whether Giles be Twilight, or not, just is interesting to debate.

-Andrew leading the squad into that horrible place was a highlight of this issue. He has got to be one of my favourite characters in this season, evolved so much. Now, the place they are in reminds me of the place in FRAY. Where that demon at the beginning of the Graphic Novel, is running through saying "She is discovered" and goes through all those tasks to dinf Urkon. If you get the chance, have a look at the two pictures and you'll see the resemblance. Him meeting Warren was pretty cool, but I don't understand how he notices him, the man has no skin. Anyway, I loved the "we are as gods" cameo, very entertaining, and I liked how Warren was able to distract Andrew with his nerd powers, so to speak.

-A lot of people died this issue, which was a good plot twist, with slayers falling dead, to demons getting their heads cut off, you name it. This is a milestone in the season, that I think will elevate the season to big climax ... and suprising conclusion!

-Giles and Buffy coming back together in that Father/Daughter kind of way was very touching, and very needed.

- I don't know what is going to happen with Willow in season 8. Her character is beginning to scare me a little. I am feeling very worried as to what is going to happen to her, espicially after hearing Buffy's concern for her. Which I thought had left her, but obviously it hasn't.

-Finally, Oz has returned, and it was done very awesomely!

Favourite Death: Random Witch/Slayer with a brain-fry.
Favourite Cameo: We are as Gods!
Favourite Return: Oz (but also Warren).
Favourite Quote(s): Andrew: We have a submarine; Oz: Huh?; and Giles: I'd ask for an explanation and then express skepticism..."

10/10 - best issue so far!!
