i'm so mad about this. it's really annoying that all they care about is ratings-who cares if it's a good show. It's all business and it's really unfortunate that so many stupid shows stay on the air just b/c the ratings are there. i Mean, how does the HILLS stay on for 5 years, but not dollhouse? It's sickening. Dollhouse surely would've kept getting better and better. We didn't even get to see the house in Manhattan which i was really looking forward to-unless we catch a glimpse in the remaining episodes (doubtful). I hope the rest of season 2 is killer. R.i.P. dollhouse. hopefully it follows the Firefly/Serenity route and we get a movie next year.

When Fox cancelled Wonderfalls, I was mad. When they cancelled Arrested Development, I swore I would never come back. Then I heard about Dollhouse and decided I would give them one last chance. Never again.

Oh boy. This is one of those days that I knew was coming but hoped it would never actually happen. I'm not sure what Fox's true expectations were for this. Part of me thinks they set it up for failure, but other shows on other networks get watched on Friday, while Dollhouse did not.
Perhaps Joss is just not accessible. If you look at his history, he has always had a group of rapid fans who follow him, but he really hasn't had any commercial success. Buffy was successful to a point, but probably wouldn't have survived on ABC/NBC/CBS and even possibly Fox.
There is obviously money to be made, and Joss' fans are willing to spend it. We need better distribution, or different. Perhaps the internet is the way to go.
Oh, and I like Dollhouse better than Firefly. Yes, I said it.
That is all for my rant.

Guys, relax. We're still getting 13 episodes.
Plans are set to air back-to-back Dollhouse Fridays in December, then come back in January for the remaining episodes.

Yeah, I agree with the need of relaxation. Sure Fox could've done more(they did more than last time at least) and what not, but we need to take what we can get and if by some misfortune Joss makes another show on Fox we'll have to rally behind it even harder. In the mean time, convert as many people as you can, so that misfortune can become fortune! Yeah, over dramatically stated but whatevs.
For the record, Dollhouse is my second favorite Whedonshow and thats probably only because it didn't play as long as Buffy. I love Buffy and it pawns Dollhouse right now, but I think if DH had the time to expand the five seasons it was supposed I would love it more than Buffy. I feel really bad saying that so "GO BUFFY"

I think ranting on the web is people's way of getting it out so they won't take it out in their real life. I think it's perfectly fine to not be relaxed about this, especially around a bunch on like-mined peeps. I'm not gonna lash out at my employees tomorrow because Dollhouse was cancelled, but ranting here give us the opportunity to tell someone who cares.

this sucks major league big time crap. i know there're some grammar issues in my previous sentence, but i'm too mad to fix it.
on the plus side, both Dichen and Fran say (via Twitter) that the rest of the episodes will be shown.
i've already emailed FOX, telling them they've made a big mistake (only i was a bit ruder than that)
but i guess the show had a good run, and now Joss has got more time to churn out other projects that are swimming around in his awesome brain.

I wonder if Joss has time to get "closure" with the last few episodes.
I'm guessing he has a exit strategy, considering that Dollhouse future was never safe, so he can probably wrap it up.
Otherwise, here's hoping he'll do a "Serenity" and make a movie.

I'm fairly certain they'll pull a good series finale out of the bag. This isn't the first time his show's been pulled out from under his feet like this - the Angel episodes from "Underneath" onward were produced after the cancellation of the show, and that still turned out alright.

I loved this show. I loved these actors. I loved the philosophy. I loved the storyline!!! I really loved this show so much (its up there with Buffy now) and now its going to be gone. I got more involved in fighting for this show's ratings than I ever have with a show before. Its disappointing and completely depressing.

Fox are the worst network in the world ever. They cancelled freakin Dark Angel (which was A-mazing) and put on Firefly then cancelled that. And now Dollhouse. Like why waste money making the show if you aren't going to bother promoting it or supporting it. Fox can go DIAF.

Very sad news. Three things: - At least the last episodes will air, and I hope they end it nicely, and epically
- At least we still have something Joss, with Buffy Season 8
- More Joss projects are in the pipeline, such as Cabin In the Woods

That's too bad, but I can't see him doing anything better than Buffy/Angel so I think he should stick with them but I guess if Buffy the Animated Series, Ripper , Slayer School, Faith the Vampire Slayer, and Spike couldn’t work then what would?

I for one, am of the firm belief that he should try a cartoon.
And by that I mean Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

I thought this would happen but always hopped it wouldn't. Even though I expected it, it was still sudden. Lets hope Joss has a new project after Dollhouse.

Sad but hardly surprising. At least we've got another 9 episodes to see.
Plus who else is intrigued by Joss comment "I'm off to pursue internet ventures/binge drinking. Possibly that relaxation thing I've read so much about. By the time the last episode airs, you'll know what my next project is." And I don't mean the binge drinking 'cause that can start before the next episode.
