But for the people who have been following Dollhouse, you have to admit it was getting better. The last episode that aired was the best yet. I don't agree. The last episode is easily top 3, but it's the first one of the season to be at level. That just wasn't quick enough to pick up in my opinion. It's a shame they had to lose Amy. She was the most interesting character coming out of season 1.

It pisses me off reading about how people hate this show(And they are Whedon fans <.<). This show must be too brilliant for those people. Agreed! I really do like the original pilot. Shame it wasn't used instead, but at least we got it on the DVD.

I think Joss said he had planned for her to be in 3 episodes this year. We should be getting some closure on her story; it'd be a shame not to after the set-up in "Vows".

I can't say that I'm suprised. I know for me personally getting into Dollhouse was a bit of a struggle. I could never really get into the show. I'm not saying it's bad it's just not what I am into personally. Joss' best work was Buffy and Angel. It's hard to top those two shows. Maybe some of Joss' fans were expecting more and were let down which is why the ratings tanked? Who knows. I just hope Joss doesn't stop writing and directing for tv because he does have a talent for it.

This is such depressing news. I really enjoy/ed Dollhouse. Although I suppose it's not all that surprising.

A great shame, it could have been great. Just watched Epitaph One and thought it was brilliant.
Felicia Day, hooray! Vi my second favourite potential after Amanda. The male survivor at the end really reminds me of Patrick Swayze/Corey Feldman for some reason. What a shocker when the little girl turns out to be evil. Great line too "Oh great, I get to go through puberty again!". The little band of misfits on the run is a theme Joss returns to time and again in Angel, Buffy, Firefly and Alien 4.
Great acting from Amy Acker as a ghostlike Whiskey. I must say I always thought that she killed all the reavers...sorry butchers and died herself. It wasn't until I heard the commentary I considered the alternative, that she was knocking them out and would implant Caroline's imprint in them creating an army of guides to take people to safehaven (a very Logan's Run/I am legend idea). So Alpha is the saviour of the human race? Who'd have thought?(like Spike!) Also some great acting from Reed Diamond (so you CAN come back from the attic?), from Topher driven mad by guilt (season 5 Wes?) and Adele, struggling to keep everything together.
The deleted scenes give us a better idea of how Alpha escaped and what happened to bounty hunter Sierra and November in that ep. Also to judge by the clips Caroline's personality eventually overcomes her implant. And one character finally says what we've all been thinking, that the Dollhouse is basically one big brothel. Some very Battlestar Galactica touches too, the picture wall especially. Also post-Apocalyptic LA which was supposed to be what Angel season 6 was all about.
Goes without saying that if they'd made the rest of the series as good as this one it would have been more of a success. But at least it lasted longer than Firefly. So, did Caroline and co make it to safehaven? Will the Epitaph 1 characters get there? Did Caroline kill Adele? (I say no). What happened to Sierra, Mellie/November? Joss has 2 eps with which to round things up which is plenty of time for him.
Looking forwards to season 2

I'm not in the least bit surprised that Dollhouse has been given the chop by Fox. Based upon its ratings that was inevitable. It's a shame, yes, but they were pretty darn lucky to get a second season so I'm not complaining. Personally I never really got in to the show though it did improve over time as the themes and ideas were explored more. Problem is I never cared much for any of the characters. For me it's by far the least engaging thing Joss has done. But that's not to say I didn't like it. I did. A lot. A lesser Joss show is miles better than almost anything else on TV.
Dollhouse was an interesting idea and an interesting series and a worthy addition to Joss' body of work.
R.I.P.

It's not surprising that it got canceled. But, seriously. I loathe Fox. I hate that they cancel all the good shows before they get to live up to their potential, and then they have shows like 'So You Think You Can Dance' that they'll probably run into the ground. I guess they feel content to put ratings above quality.

Is there a chance that Fox will change their minds if The left Hand and The Public Eye get a lot viewers?

MAYBE THEY CAN FINALLY PUT TOGETHER A FAITH SPINOF!!!!!! Sorry but Dollhouse just didn't work out with the whole scientific element to it. I get that joss wanted to try something new, but there is so much that he could do with the buffyverse, he could even reinvent it to give it a new feel and i'm sure everybody would still watch to see their favoirte characters in action and since Eliza is the one who's going to have time on her hands, why not give Faith a spinoff. That would work so well.

rogue11 i don't think Joss wants to revive any of the Buffyverse on screen but instead just stick with the comics....i'm not sure if i heard this right but i think he said in an interview or something that he just wants to focus on other ideas of his and leave Buffy alone (well besides the comics, but there's quite a few writers on the team)....but i totally agree with you on that having a Faith spinoff would be awesome! i'm gonna miss Eliza on Dollhouse and Dollhouse itself.

Eliza doesn't want to do Faith, she turned that down already.
Joss doesn't have the rights (legally speaking) to do Buffy on screen without involving a whole bunch of third parties that i'm sure he'd rather leave well alone.
