what a great issue. i loved the xander/buffy conversation. i've always wanted the to of them to get together, but now after reading this, i think xander is totally right for not going with buffy. i still want to see them together, but they both have to need each other. i did believe buffy though when she says she's had feelings for xander before he and dawn hooked up. and did anybody notice how twilight's font is normal? i know the reveal is out and his captives are supposedly unconscious, but perhaps one of the captives over-hears him speaking to himself and realizes who he is before buffy gets her one-on-one with him. In the Q+A with scott allie, it has said that this has significance. Whether he has stopped using a voice modifier or the person behind the mask has changed is unknown, but the font changing is significant.

Only a few notices)
Wow, Buffy can fly? It's weird. Willow does it too, but she is a superwitch, so it's okey. But Buffy.. really weird. I am wondering is it only her personal ability or other Slayers are also capable to fly, at least in theory.
Buffy's conversation with the soldier (not Raily). It was nice. Did he really die? Sad.
Twilight and his prisoners. I can not stop thinking of "And your name will come back to me" What does it mean? Only than the villain forgot Andrew's name? Why it is so important to be mentioned? I thinks here lies something very important, a key to something.
Buffy and Xander.. i don't like it. At all. No, really - WTF? He asked her for a date and was rejected - in early seasons. I thoght that's all. No chance that Buffy ever had any feelings towards him. Especially now, after Satsu and everything. I am shocked. Poor Xander.
And Willow.. what empowered her? Death of FDW? Twilight future victory? Or on the contrary, his defeat? Very interesting.

I thought it was Andrew standing with Willow when Dawn and Xander came out to them, even though I knew it was Oz she had been talking with. The art just feels way too rushed sometimes. Use contextual reading. Andrew wouldn't be concerned about Bay the way Oz would be. And Andrew really has no real personal connection to Willow, beyond their little flight together in #12. Yeah, I knew it was Oz she had been talking to. But after the conversation I thought it was Andrew standing there with them, like he came over with Dawn and Xander.

faithswatcher: thanks! i just read that in the Q&A a little bit ago. the moment i read twilight's lines, i just knew that couldn't be an accident. can't wait to see how confusing this confusion spell gets.

Oh man, I really hope this means the Slayers will be back in business soon. As much as I appreciate the de-powering plot, I think it's time for revenge.

Is it just me or Jeanty's art looks AMAZING in this issue?? I mean, the visual composition of the panels, the characters expressions, the likeness (Dawn REALLY looks like Dawn now), the details. Astonishing, really, I hope he keeps the level till the end.

Twilight future victory? Or on the contrary, his defeat? Very interesting. Somebody mentioned the color of the feedback loop Willow absorbed was GREEN. The color green is important because...that's Dawn's color. Dawn is magic...she's the "Key". Key to what? I think we're about to find out soon. Willow's re-empowerment could only be from two possible sources - Willow's death in that event 200 years into the future. But I'm discounting this because of the color of the feedback loop being green. This is telling me either A. Twilight kills Dawn (his victory and betrayal) and her essence dissapates everywhere and Willow absorbs her magic to becoming powerful again.
B. This is a taste of future Dawn who is very powerful and she's going to make an appearance soon. The "soon" part is important because Willow says the "event" is coming very quickly.

I just picked up the issue and read it on BART (er...that's kind of like the subway for us bay areans). I loved it! Not much action, but we need a little peace in the eye of the storm. Plus the issue had me laughing out loud to myself in public (awkward actually). There were so many great lines! I loved the character interactions in this. The only thing I didn't like (besides Xander saying he's kind of in love with Dawn...ew...), was Willow's reaction to their being in love. She was hoping they would get togehter? More ew. In case you were wondering, I'm also anti-Bander. So this whole love triangle situation is ew to me. Also in slay the Critics Scott implied that buffy might know Spike is alive. I'll be pissed if she does and nothing was said about it. But I won't get into that. I think my favorite line(s): Buffy: It involves something I don't really understand. That, honestly, freaks me out, and I was hoping not to mention. Kennedy: You're a dyke. The first time I have ever loved Kennedy. And hey, Geroges drew in Domo just like he promised somebody on this forum! Does anyone remember who requested it? I know it was someone who asked a question in one of the Jeanty sessions...

That was a humorous moment of course. I'd be shocked (in a good way, though) if this was hinting at something "big" in that sense about Buffy. Now that would send shock waves everywhere. It would even make the news. I doubt this is going to happen. It was just good gentle humor.

Pretty sure it already made the news when #12 hit the news stands. Or comic book racks. Or whatever. It's just a throwback to the whole "lezfaux" deal.

The (amazingly written and drawn) Buffy/Xander talk in ish 31 sealed it for me. I never expect Buffy to go lez again. But I wish she did. Satsu would do real good for Buff, she would be a stable partner, trustworthy, like the one Buff threw away with Riley, and unlike the ones Buffy didn't throw away...

I was responding to your statement that Buffy being gay "would send shock waves everywhere. It would even make the news". Just saying that it already made the news. Wasn't denying anything, text, or subtext.

See, you're responsible for a little tiny bit of Buffyverse canon now. I felt the same way when I got my name on the cover of a "Transmetropolitan" trade paperback and in an issue of "The Boys".

It's a weird feeling, ain't it? Could you imagine if you made a comment to Scott Allie saying, "I think it'd be a cool idea if Buffy goes evil," and Scott goes, "Hmm, that's interesting..." And five months later, Buffy goes evil. It would blow my mind.

Somebody mentioned the color of the feedback loop Willow absorbed was GREEN. The color green is important because...that's Dawn's color. Unfortunately i don't remember Dawn showing any green magic. Was it in BTVS season 5 or season 8? I read this scene again. Now I am pretty sure that it was nothing but one of Whedon's jokes. ;D
