I read it, it was really good, but how did they get away from twilight in the end?

Thorn, I think what happened is Twilight captured who he wanted to capture. That he'd "won" what he'd sought through the battle and gotten what captives he felt were useful. The way he speaks about how Giles and Faith matter seems significant to me.

Really enjoyed it. Had to get the Georges cover - usually get the Jo - but the issue was great.
But Buffy, felt really bad for her when she was talking to Xander. Aha Cradle Robber. Fell like the issue tied up some bits and bobs in time for the big show down. Anyone agree?
I was unhappy at the time that it was pushed back a week, although now I'm glad as there isn't as big a wait until the nest issue.

He must be from the future then, to little time since 'After the fall' and 'Season 8' to become so evil and forgetful lol....

I don't know, that could have just been a nod to the running gag on the show (specifically season six) when nobody could remember Andrew's name.

Loved, loved, loved this issue! So many great moments! Loved the talk between Buffy and Xander. I really found myself feeling sorry for Both of them during this. Buffy torn between her feelings for Xander and wanting to be supportive of her sister's relationship. But in classic Buffy fashion and despite her hurt feelings, she was able to be gracious about it all, even to the point of making "cradle Robber" jokes. My heart really went out to her though, especially when the tears started rolling. Just Buffy's luck. For years Xander pinned away for her and she never reciprocated his feelings, now years later, when he is dating her sister no less, Buffy finally realizes she has feelings for him! It really is a sad situation for both of them. But I'm glad the talk happened. I think it needed to. At least now things are all out in the open. I have to say that I am a little surprised at Xander's profession of love for Dawn. I didn't realize they had gotten so serious so quickly. I have nothing against the Xander/Dawn relationship really, just, imo, the whole "I'm in love with her" thing seemed to come rather out of the blue. And also, I think Dawn is definitely threatened by the vibes between Buffy and Xander. she definitely realizes there is something going on there. And I think she knows that Buffy and Xander have a history and connection she just can't compete with. I would really hate to see something like this tear sisters apart though. And you get the impression that if things were different, even after all these years, Xander would jump at the chance to finally be with Buffy. I predict that at some point in the future these two will get their chance to be together. As I've said before, I have no problem with Xander/Dawn, but if I'm being honest, I just don't see them together for the long haul. I have just as many qualms about the Buffy/Xander relationship, however. Either way, this has the power to create discord among sisters, and tear long standing friendships apart. A part of me wants Xander to finally have his chance with Buffy, I think he's earned it. On the other hand, Buffy and Xander have been friends for so long, if they get together and things turn sour, it would have an adverse affect on their friendship and I would hate to see that happen. I guess we will just have to wait and see how things unfold. Willow was the only one who seemed not the least bit surprised about the Xander/Dawn revelation. I think her reaction to the news caught Buffy off guard. I loved the interaction between Buffy and Riley this issue as well. It's so obvious that even after so much time has past, these are two people who still care a great deal for one another, and I think that really came through in their "scenes" together. Something I am not loving, however. Did Buffy suffocate that solider? She says, "we need that bed" and then proceeds to place her hand over his nose and mouth. Did she smother him? Hopefully I misunderstood...But it seemed to me like maybe she thought that his injuries were too extensive and the best, most merciful thing she could do is put him out of his misery? I immediately flashed back to the moment when Giles did the same thing to Ben in S5. By Giles's definition, does this mean Buffy is no longer a hero? Was it an act of mercy and compassion on Buffy's part? It makes me wonder if Buffy ever found out about Giles killing Ben? I know she is waging a war and the price is much higher now, but I still have a hard time seeing her take an innocent man's life, despite my understanding of her thought process and reasoning at the time. For what it's worth, it looked like she was really devastated about having to do it, and devastated about the war as a whole. I suppose that being general means having to make the tough choices, those decisions that no one else can make. I loved the brief moments between Willow and Oz this issue, and found it amusing that not even Twilight is able to remember Andrew's name. I do hope that Giles and Faith will be ok. At this point I fear for their lives and wonder, what was Twilight's motive for capturing them? Side note, now that we know the identity of the man behind the mask (supposedly anyway), I am seeing Twilight in a whole new way. I am still hoping that is a joke, btw.. Did anyone else notice Kennedy wearing what looked like Domo Kun shirt? I am happy that she had minimal lines and "screen time" this issue. *EDIT* After looking back at the issue I now realize that Buffy was in fact closing the eyes of the soldier, who was already dead. Although, upon first reading and without paying close attention, it certainly did look like she was suffocating him.

I'm sorry, but given the number of interview made with Joss, Scott Allie and George Jeanty on the subject, the chance that this is all a joke is extremely thin, if not non-existent. You-know-who is Twilight, you might not like it, but you must accept it. I can't grab the issue before a couple of week,s but I want to know, is it true that Buffy call Xander a pedophile? In which context? And do Buffy have a talk with Dawn too, or just Xander?

She calls him that in a joking way, but it bothers him because he's a little uneasy about the age difference himself. No big talk with Dawn... she just walks in at the end and gets told that everything is OK.

Ugh, Dawn.
I was thinking, is it impossible that the green energy ripples we are seeing...maybe they're not from FDW but from Dawn? Was it ever made clear what The Key's energy could do other than open portals? It would make sense that the energy comes from Dawn, that the event in the future has something to do with her, since the energy is both green, and seems to have trans-dimensional properties. Or travel-through-time properties.
I wonder if it were possible to take the key-ness away from Dawn yet still have her live?

buffyfan21: Buffy didn't suffocate the dying soldier. He died before finishing his sentence. She was merely closing his eyes.

The issue was good, but the art REALLY needs to improve. It’s becoming confusing. I was wondering who the third person Twilight took was, it looked a lot like Oz, but it didn’t made any sense… After reading the comments here I see it really was Andrew, but I think I should be supposed to figure that one out alone from the art, not from other people’s comments.
Anyway, great issue. I don’t think Buffy rally has something for Xander, it’s like he said – he was just phase.
I hope we will find more about Buffy and Willow’s returning powers soon enough.
Can’t wait for the Twilight arc!

First/Joyce: I love you both. But Buffy won't be there for you. But excellent theory about the source of the energy bolt that gave Willow her powers back. However Willow believes it's from an event that hasn't happened yet. About Twilight not remembering Andrew's name. It could be a gag...but it might be significant. If we're meant to take it seriously then it has to be a clue this is Angel from the past. If that's the case here...we're dealing with a time distortion from as far back as Season 6. If that's true here...this whole Twilight deal involves time travel. And who do we all think is responsible for that? Only one name comes up...Willow.

Good issue. Definately the best in a while. The art still doesn't feel as good as it's been though.

I really enoyed this issue, the story's really picking up pace which is great but it's not making the mistake of advancing too fast and leaving us all behind
The Bander scene was especially wonderful- the voices were just right and it was really touching. It was spooky reading Twilight's lines knowing who was really speaking them- I like the idea of the "confusion spell" it's a vague concept but at least it accounts for things like "why aren't the scoobies off saving Giles?"

Use contextual reading. Andrew wouldn't be concerned about Bay the way Oz would be. And Andrew really has no real personal connection to Willow, beyond their little flight together in #12. In Jeanty's defense, the script for #31 was late in coming in; Joss got busy, so he was late in turning in his script. Jeanty had to go back to that, after starting work on Meltzer's "Twilight" arc. So yeah, it's a little rushed, but it's pretty damn good for having to juggle.

what a great issue. i loved the xander/buffy conversation. i've always wanted the to of them to get together, but now after reading this, i think xander is totally right for not going with buffy. i still want to see them together, but they both have to need each other. i did believe buffy though when she says she's had feelings for xander before he and dawn hooked up.
and did anybody notice how twilight's font is normal? i know the reveal is out and his captives are supposedly unconscious, but perhaps one of the captives over-hears him speaking to himself and realizes who he is before buffy gets her one-on-one with him.
