Anyone else hates the new artwork in the latter story arc's? the artwork here: i45.tinypic.com/214pm6d.jpg looked amazing and dark , now look at #27's artwork: i45.tinypic.com/1zdrgpe.jpgThe level of quality dropped awfully and the latter volumes started looking like something a fan would draw or something out of a cheesy 1988 comic book , im really disappointed that they changed arists. |

After the Fall was (mostly) drawn by Franco Urru, #27 by Stephen Mooney, Brian Denham has been drawing the main stories for #28 and #29 and onward, and David Messina has been drawing the Eddie Hope backup stories and Angel: Only Human.
So which "artist change" were you referring to? Because post-ATF, it hasn't really been consistent.

Yeah I agree which Is why I am very un-sure about any of the comics released after AFTER THE FALL except the Druscilla arc are nothing but nice stories. . . not much different from fan fics but they have been published. A lot of the other issues may be well written and have a good plot but when the quality slips and charatcers drift in and out of other comic arcs and stories then the quality does drop and thats whats been happening ever since Brian Lynch stopped writing the main Angel arc for IDW. Many, many, many other writers and artists have came in and made there mark on the verse. . .but unfortunatley it's not so much of a mark as it is a bad stain on what used to be a good basis for a sixth season of Angel. I gave up on coll3cting the singel issues a while back now. Too many spawned off. Blood and Trneches, Boys and there toys, Angel Annual etc. . I just keep an eye out for the HC Volumes. Hopefully a sixth volume will be realeased soon.    |

Honestly, as somebody who stopped reading ATF after Brian and Urru left...I have to agree.
However, I don't think it's all just the artwork.
I kind of feel like the changing of artists, writers, and titles for the series makes it hard to follow. Since ATF ended, I feel like it's kind of been a merry-go-round of different artists, less than satisfactory art, and bad writing.
Maybe I'm just saying that because tit would be really hard to top Lynch and Urru's awesome combination of art and magnificent writing. All I know is that as a casual reader, the series has put me off post-Aftermath.

Out of the 40 issues in the main title (Angel #1-29, Spike: AtF #1-4, Only Human #1-5, Last Angel in Hell), Brian has not written 10 of them. Not sure where the merry-go-round of bad writing is, when Willingham has been decent, Lobdell was decent, and Armstrong was terrible. That's just 5 bad issues, by my count (or 12% of the series).
As for the art, that's all personal preference, but I've enjoyed all of the art except Dave Ross's (Aftermath). I think Nick Runge gets a bad wrap for his work in AtF, as I feel it was Shayne Corbett, the inker, who messed the work up (and Art Lyon's brownish coloring during that period didn't help, although I thought it looked good in Spike: AtF). Nick's un-inked, un-colored pencils look pretty darn awesome.
While I believe Urru and Mooney are the best artists in the Buffyverse, I am more than happy with Denham and Messina on the current title. Plus Urru will be doing Spike which makes me very happy.
So...not seeing a merry-go-round on my end.

I almost laughed at how bad that is. The "I am Angel" bit makes it even worse. I haven't read anything post-ATF so I can't really comment on anything other than that picture. |

I've stared at that panel for a while now, but I still can't see what's so bad about it (except for Spike's hair, but since I know why his hair is that way in the comic, it's no biggy). |

Pretty much everything after Urru the art quality kept going downhill to the point i had trouble recognizing which character is which , the latest issue is ugly compared to Urr's work to the point i searched the web thinking it was a dream arc of some sort. |

I honestly haven't taken the time to read all the issues because im still working on Buffy S8 and finishing up the Spike comics but the first thing i noticed when i bought the newest issues is the art quality , i really wish Urru would get back on board because his artwork is amazing. hell i wish he would hop on Buffy Season 8 and start working on it aswell because he seemed to be the only artist that manged to nail the character's looks. |

There are 4-5 page back up stories at the end of every issue starting with #28. They are written by Bill Williams, with art by David Messina. |

That doesn't prevent you from reading it in whatever order you want though.  Comics (and other mediums like TV, books, video games, movies) aren't always in sequential order. |
