But then again, Andrew gets jealous whenever he sees something he doesn't have.

Hey Andrew got a jet pack he just sucked at using it but i think you guys are spot on about him slipping back to his old ways if he was seduced with dreams of power and wealth than he just might but i still think that satsu will be the betrayer

Sorry, got Andrew and Jonathan confused when I wrote that. But point is, he always wanted flying mojo.

Ok, Andrew is a likely candidate, until you remember that the betrayer is "close and unexpected." Andrew is neither close nor unexpected. He's an obvious choice, and therefore cannot be a likely candidate.

It was said the betrayer would be someone close, and other than the one night stand, Satsu was never close with buffy. Edit: Maybe Giles? They were the closest out of every friendship on the show, and that would be majorly un expected.

I keep feeling like Giles is just a little to obvious i also don't think that he's close or unexpected even to Buffy herself think of all the times that he has disagreed with her and told her to do things his way even now in the comic isn't she already feeling a little betrayed he's practically ditched her for faith. I really think that Satsu is Buffy's betrayer shes been around for all of season 8 and i feel like there just holding her there waiting for something big to happen I'm not sure what it would be but i have a feeling that she's going to turn on Buffy and that will really hurt her.
Also i really don't think we can trust any of them remember when they all kicked her out in season 7 after she made a mistake that was partly there fault for telling her to step up and be a leader make some decisions she does that they don't like how it went so they kick her out of her own house (now thats true friends)

She's not really that close to buffy. I think it's one of the inner circle scoobies.

Yes she may not be that close to Buffy but Buffy does trust her she knows satsu loves her and i think in a way satsu is like Buffy's safety net shes a sort of reliable person and if satsu was to betray her it would really hurt we know her weakness is love and relationships so why not stasu?

Man, I just finished reading the 6 pages of that very long, yet interesting, debate.
Personnally I voted for Giles but it was hard to pick as every character seems to be a good "candidate".
Willow: She turned evil before but we all assume she's been redeemed. However there's something bugging me. I have a feeling that she is not liking the idea of putting an end to that war because she's afraid it would mean the end of magic and we all know she cannot live without magic. I'm pretty sure she would be ready to betray Buffy is she considered it would be in her interest to save "the magical world" for her good. Twisted but I just have a feeling. Not sure I am making my point clear enough for you to understand though...
Giles: Something is up with him. I think his time has come. Period.
Dawn: She's not in good terms with her sister for the moment and I believe Joss Whedon is willing to make her more interesting because he's aware most fans dislike her. So why not?
Xander: Most unexpected. So he qualifies.
No way it can be anyone else. It would be plain boring. Who cares about any other character betraying Buffy? It wouldn't affect us as much as a real betrayal from one of the core scoobies.

I actually wasn't leaning toward Satsu as the traitor until I read issue 14.Her determination to go on the attack squad seems like she wanted to set the slayers up for the trap the vampires set up(I could be wrong, yet, when reading the issue, the theory just jumped out at me)

This is a weakness in Buffy's leadership skills that Satsu could be manipulating. Maybe there is a reason that Satsu needed to go with her to fight. Part of her mission that she couldn't miss? The only thing holding me back on Satsu is the fact she was able to wake Buffy up from her the sleep-spell with a true loves kiss. However it could all be part of the plan. Twilight controls The General, The General sends Amy to put her in the sleep-spell, Satsu has a counter spell given to her by Twilight in order to wake her up & earn trust from the gang (plus get closer to Buffy). Then what better way to throw a twist into the deception than to have Twilight kick Satsu's ass in front of her.
