Does anyone have an theories about this whole "prince" thing from Anywhere But Here?
Robin: The important thing is that you rescue the prince. Buffy: Um... Yeah? Willow: Even I don't follow that one. Robin: No, it follows you.
I've been trying to put many many pieces together and can't come up with anything. Anyone have ideas?

It's probably Dracula, but it could be Twilight. It wouldn't surprise me if Dracula is going to have an epiphany and be a little less evil in the future, and Buffy makes that happen. He looks so sad in Antique www.slayalive.com/index.cgi?board=watg&action=display&thread=1204326653&page=1, like he needs to be rescued. It was talked about a bit, who's the prince, if it was Twilight or Dracula, in the "Twilight the manipulator"-thread

Dracula has been referred to as "the dark prince" in more than a few non-Buffyverse sources.
My money's on that.

As they really haven't given out much for clues,I would make the guess of Xander. He's followed Buffy and Willow since the beginning, and he's usually the one who is generally overlooked.
I don't think Dracula will be around after wolves arc,so I don't see it being him.
It is only a guess,I'm probably wrong, but it's all I can think up.

Literally taken, I can see how it's Dracula, but he's really referenced as the Prince (of Darkness) in a lot of lore. Robin's prince reference seems to be a bit more tied to Buffy, so I'm putting my money on Xander. He might need to be rescued, possibly in #20, the issue that is supposedly the major turning point of the season.

I really dont understand how Xander can be a prince? A prince of what? What attribute does Xander have that can make him a prince, unless you call him the prince of hearts which is kinda relevant since in season 4 he was the heart in the ritual that the Gang used to destroy Adam. Other than that my money is on Drac.

There have been numerous mentions of Buffy being "queen", what if she gets pregnant somewhere down the line?! Ok, maybe not, but I can see how it could relate to Xander somehow.

I'm starting to think that maybe Dracula is too obvious of a reference. Something that is meant to be misleading. Kinda of a "Death is your gift" type hint. I think the prince is a reference to something that has big ties to a giant arc. I don't really foresee Dracula playing a big part in season 8.

Well since Buffy's refrenced as being "the queen". And since Dawn is Buffy's sister, "the prince" might be Dawn's child (if she get's one) ,and there's a high chance that she did get pregnant from Kenny's friend (I forgot what his name was) And in the Issue 16 Dawn was seen screaming in the preview. Maybe that's part of her pregnancy stages. That would give Dawn a more important role because she would have to protect her baby,

Yeah but "Death is yougift can make sense ", the prince on the other hand no.Dawn pregnant? If she was in a screamo stage of her pregnancy then she ought to have a rather big belly ;p

Why would Buffy need to rescue Dracula, ever? Dracula just isn't important enough to warrant a cryptic warning like this and I hope its not him b/c that would be boring.
I'd rather it be some new character. Xander doesn't make sense to me as a 'prince'.

Think that "The Prince" could maybe one day reference a child of Buffy's? Since she has be referenced as "The Queen of Slayers".

I have a feeling it is Xander. "It follows you." Who is the only male that has followed Buffy and Willow throughout everything? Xander.

prince |prins| noun the son of a monarch. • a close male relative of a monarch, esp. a son's son. • a male royal ruler of a small state, actually, nominally, or originally subject to a king or emperor. • (in France, Germany and other European countries) a nobleman, usually ranking next below a duke. • ( prince of/among) a man or thing regarded as outstanding or excellent in a particular sphere or group : arctic char is a prince among fishes.
That is the definition of "Prince". The more I think about it, the more I wonder if it is Twilight. Yes, I know what you all are thinking. "Twilight is the bad guy!" But comeon. In Buffy, how many times does the big bad turn into a big good? Spike? Angel? Ben? Willow? Jonathan? Andrew? Sometimes the big bad isn't even all that bad, just misguided and confused. There could be a much worse character just waiting around the bend. Twilight's mother? The queen of all magic? I dunno, just kinda going on a rant here.

We talked about that in the Twilight bad or good thread thing. I really don't want it to be Twilight. He doesn't seem the kind of person that would need saving. I think I'm going to agree with others about it being Xander. I mean he is the glue that keeps the gang together really, hes the heart and soul of the group. Like Angel said hes '"Buffy's White Knight" so why not a Prince.

A big part of me is agreeing with you, another part reminds me it's joss whedon we're talking about, and silly happy endings just don't ahppen... that often. Twilight turning good, that sounds cheesy. But hey, after I watched School hard I never thought that he'd be good, but Joss suceeded.

I do not want Buffy to become pregnant and give birth to the prince. Buffy being pregnant would take place over a long period time and Buffy woudn't be able to fight as well and other bad things, and MOST importantly I don't want Buffy to be fat LOL

Buffy being pregnant would be a horrible storyline. I could see something cool like Willow being pregnant with something mystical or something, but Buffy..... no way

I think it would be too Charmed like if that happend. And i think Buffy needs to find some guy before she can get the preggie storyline.
