Oh god ... someone's gonna die aren't they. I can just see it happening. Dawn and Xander together, and happy, Buffy angry at them both, one of them dies, buffy sad -- sighs.....

I'd like to see Twilight in the middle, with magic rippling off his fingers, darkness around him. And in seperate squares on each side of the cover, one being evil the other good. On the good side we have Buffy Summers, Willow Rosenberg, Xander Harris, Rupert Giles, and Faith. The other side being Warren, Amy, Riley, that Rogue Slayer, and Harmony

Anyone else think that the members on the cover would be an awesome CAST for the ninth season of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Anyone? I mean, yeah, Willow and Dawn are missing, but with Faith, Satsu, and Kennedy? Awesome!! .... missing Willow tho

can someone please explain to me the so called "hints" in the issues that could even possibly lead to Xander/Dawn. I have got the issues, but I just don't see what you're all talking about.
So, if someone could explain it to me, or tell me what to look out for on the issue, then that'd be great! XD

Shocking relationship-y encounter, huh? Anyone else worried about Willow/Buffy. I mean, Jo Chen's cover with magic entertwining the two ... if it is I wouldn't be shocked, but would hope they get passed it. I don't see it being Dawn/Xander, there has been nothing linking the two together at all this season, and I would love for it to be Xander/Buffy...but...who doesn't? lol
This didn't really get me excited for this issue, just upset I don't have it in front of me now. So thanks for that "major twist" info. XD

Remember Andrews issue in Predators and Prey. Someone noticed that when Andrew slams open the door, he makes the Twilight symbol. Well I was re reading it and on the page opposite, two words jumped out at me. "Time...travel" s436.photobucket.com/albums/qq90/Slayalive_Comics/Buffy%20Season%208/Issue%2023%20Preview/?action=view¤t=bc56112b.jpg(or go to the previews of issue 23) Andrew actually says "Theres time, and theres also Travel" but the way the speech bubble is positioned places Time just above Travel making it jump out of the page (at least to me) Twilight symbol on page 2, talk of time travel on page 3. Both connected to Andrew, Coincidence? Whoever said that the twilight symbol appears on that page, is a bit confused. When fast movement happens, a line the jumps from one side of the person, or object, to the other with two strokes at the end. It means the door was shut, and was open within the second. Really fast. The twilight symbol looks NOTHING like it. And I'd feel disappointed if Twilight was someone from the future, or someone who isn't really them...?? :S

I have a question for yas. If Buffy is killed, does the connection break. I know the scythe was used to share the power, like Willow activated the connection - but the real source of power comes from within Buffy as she is THE slayer, not A slayer.

Kennedy

I think Kennedy was an amazing character. I never, at all, viewed her as a "replacement" for Tara. Life goes on. And so does everyone else. Tara's dead, yes, that's sad, but (not to be disrespectful) but its time to get over her. She was a great character for Willow at that certain point in her life. But as we saw in season 6, she was so far surpassed Tara herself that you could see the holes in their relationship. Kennedy pushed Willow to her limits because she believed in her. Tara was holding Willow back from becoming the best she could be ... and soon, instead of learning to control her powers, she supressed it, and soon, after Tara's death, it all come rushing out. I really do love Tara, and I don't see people's hate for Kennedy. I think she's awesome. She's kind of a brat; but in a good way p/s - sorry to hear that you lost someone you thought was the love of your life. Hope things get easier; if not, have gotten easier

It has to be Ethan Rayne. I am at least 98% sure. Ethan was the very first person to warn Buffy about Twilight falling. He showed Buffy the "X, X, X" which read 30 in roman numerals. Why? Because he wanted her to believe that he was dead so that all suspicion of him being the culperet would be erased. I mean, Joss Whedon doesn't kill off ANY character without there being a reason. Eg, Tara's death lead to Dark Willow, which was her growing arc the whole season 'addicted to magicks'; Kendra's death by Drucilla, which called forth Faith to kickstart the third season's story arc; and lastly, Jenny Callender, which was killed to illustrate the point that you can't always follow your heart, and also to announce the fact that Angel was no longer the caring man Buffy thought he was - he was the viscious ANGELUS.
Okay, so going along with this theory: Buffy finds Ethan dead in room 30. But, where exactly is the proof he's dead? What Buffy really finds is Ethan Rayne, and the general guy baring the mark of Twilight, which maybe Ethan had him carve into himself as a way to save him now that Buffy was on her way?!
This army, the government, demons, magical beings, all of which Ethan could have gotten with a snap of his finger. For starters, he's been locked up by the government for years, you can't rule out that if it is him, he didn't form some sort of agreement/alliance with them. Or convinced them that Buffy was such a great threat. Who knows that from s4 onwards, the government were planning to wage war upon her, but the opportunity didn't present itself. And with the others, he's been a practising warlock for years, for all we know he probably has more foes on their way to back him up.
Ethan Rayne on the show always had a slight flirtacious way of talking to Buffy, while sounding quite spooky and disgusting, like an old pervert checking out a child. But in a cool, non child mol...yeah you know what I mean. When Twilight speaks to Buffy, he talks in that same way, eg:
-I just hate to see you cry. -I know that move slayer, let me show you some of mine.
Although these quotes may not come off as flirtacious to you, but we've all looked at them as "I just hate to see you cry" as a 'Twilight knows Buffy really well, possibly relationship-well' and 'I know that move slayer' as a reference to Caleb's death. They all may be, but there are several different ways of looking at things, and if it is indeed Ethan, a flirtacious way would be it.
Plus, don't tell me Twilight doesn't sound british/english.
Oh and, this is what I've figured out --
The queen = Buffy
I think I've definately figured out what this means, like the dream she had and all that. In season 7 of Buffy, Bojox's Eye said that its not that Buffy died (that all this is happening) its that she lives, still. So, in her dream the demon says "Long live the Queen" which is a reference to what is happening. Buffy lives, the balance is broken, and the world must face the consequences of this coming to be. It is certain that Buffy is the "queen" because she has been called that by Twilight, and the government/cop chick at the end of NFFY.

Maybe the big shock is that it is Buffy. I feel weird with it, but Jeanty said in the interview thingy's that once the reveal is out, it would be interesting to draw Twilight. maybe because two buffy's on one page would be weird, and slightly confusing....

What about Twilight being the essence of the slayer (demonic) side. The power Buffy turned down. What if it took form? I know ... lame idea ... but I'm desperate here lol

what if .. now I'm just speculating here which is what this thread is for. They are the same person. Hear me out. The betrayer (someone, in the PAST, who betrayed Buffy), the Mole (the same person, but in the PRESENT, who is the spy of the group) and Twilight (their future self, coming back to fix things; blames MAGIC for it, but has a strange likeness to it).

But in all honesty ... does Angel really have the time to make a suit, get dressed up, form an army, this sort of thing must have started during s7. Twilight forming a team and all. I just think its a long shot ... but I can see what everyone is trying to say.

True. As if she is getting impowered once again. Welcoming the magic, finally, after trying to lessen the magic for so long; like now that Twilight is here, she embraces the power to stop him!

Oh and with the first cover, people are saying it looks as thought the theory of her being vamped, but I don't see it as that. It looks as though she's a bit overdramatic here, like holding the stake up as if to say "This holds the power to our survival" as if her saying before, "The stake is not the power" suddenly took a big change ... because she is powerless.

That's true. I can't believe its been two years. I remember when I first picked up an issue of season 8. I didn't even know it was season 8. I just saw a new Buffy comic and the illustrations, and went "Holy crap this is awesome; Buffy shooting through the air with a gun and a hot outfit" and I was sold. It wasn't until much later when I came on Slayalive and realised it. XD
I really love the Twilight villain though.

Sorry. I don't think Buffy should be vamped. I mean, yes, great plot twist, but a bit too far for me. I mean we've had characters become demons, and characters get souls, but vamping the main character is just ... a big no no in my book. I love Jeanty's cover. I think it symbolizes that the Scoobies will be broken by what has happened, either the revelation of Twilight, I don't know. I like the other cover, but I really, really, really, really, really, really, really MISS JO CHEN! lol

1) In your last session (4) you answered a question where you said Twilight, once revealed, would be interesting to draw. I understand you can't reveal spoilers or anything like that. But does this mean you haven't drawn them before (in this season) or am I looking at this in the wrong way?
2) In each season of Buffy, the characters slowly change, or form into a new kind of person by the end of the season. For example, in Season 6, Buffy is coddling Dawn, but realises at the end of it, she has to show her little sister the world. Another example, would be Willow's character, on how she see's the power inside her as too much, and uncontrollable, but in the end of the season, discovers its pure, and godess-y. Or at least its not evil what is inside her. Anyway, my question is, which character will we see the biggest change in this season? And if you can't answer that, which character do you think has changed the most since the WB's series finale?
3) How do you get 'in the zone' of drawing a Buffy comic. Music, television, etc. ??
