If I wasn't so dead set against resurrections at the moment, I'd suggest that they rangle up Big Gay Larry.
Maybe Willow was mistaken about his untimely demise...

Joss has insisted this is part of a bigger PLAN. Now I have learned to be skeptical towards Joss's PLANs. It could be fantastically brilliant, it could be a disaster so big it tanks the (already fragile) Buffyverse forever. Fact of the matter is, we don't know. We are going to have to trust Joss and his PLAN. We have to follow this story through. What do I think about Buffy and Satsu (after my intial pure femslash loving GLEE)? I honestly don't know. We HAVE to see where he's taking this, and what he does with it. I have learned that with this fandom, a kneejerk reaction is never the best option. Wait and see. This whole episode, by the bye, is both the primary reason I love Joss and I freaking hate him at the same time. I need new Buffy more than I've needed any other story in years. God bless his hollow, black heart.

If Satsu was a male slayer, would people be this outraged? I think not. I think some people are having a little trouble seeing their icon as a bisexual woman. BUFFY?! BISEXUAL!? No way! She's a "normal" girl. Ha! Nail on the head, my friend.

Willow was never really "evil". She lost control of her addiction and dark magics took over her. While she is to blame for allowing that to happen to herself, her friends are also partially to blame for enabling her and not helping. Darn right!

I see Willow as fairly evil in Dark Willow mode, but I didn't see her in pitch black; which is why Xander was able to talk her down. This is related back to Twilight as Evil because it could be said that he isn't as bad as many of our other villains in the past. In fact, with how the Buffster is behaving this season, and from an objective standpoint, Twilight may be more Good than Buffy (atm, imho). He was able to talk her down because the script required it. Can't deny it was a great moment. I hated, hated, hated, hated "Dark Willow" and I'd rather avoid talking it about if possible.

Oh, and mandikaye, I have to point out, we have had one example of an evil opponent who thought she was doing the right thing, though it wasn't nearly on the scale that Twilight has introduced us to. Willow. Dark Willow, at first, believed she was doing the right thing by killing off the Big Bads. When she decided to end the world, she still thought she was doing the right thing; she sensed that life brought so much pain to everyone, that she thought the best thing to do was to end it, thus sparing everyone. Again, not on the same scale, cause her mind was clearly twisted by that point, but she did believe she was doing the right thing. Ok. I can see that. When I wrote my original post, I was thinking of Dark Willow only in vengeance for Tara mode, which was clearly selfish. I forgot about the rest of it. Counted to ten. Ahem. Willow made a MISTAKE. A terrible MISTAKE, that she'll have to live with the rest of her (long and glorious) LIFE. I'll even say that she committed real, honest-to-Sweet Muppetty Odin (love that phrase!) SINS. SHE WAS NEVER EVIL. Okay, I'm cool. Great topic!

"The Chain"-easily on par with the best of anything Whedon's ever done ("The Gift," "A Hole in the World.")
It was that issue that really sold me that a Buffy comic would work.

I'd say I'd rather have the comics.
As much as I love these actors it would be terrible for them to be pidgenholed in these roles forever, like StarTrek.

I, quite simply, want Buffy never to end.

Oh, I am so not entering the discussion.... Enisy, I do not care for Spuffy. Don't want to diss you, but I don't. We'll leave it at that. ;D

I am very, very, very glad that Spike is nowhere near Buffy. Nothing against him, it's just that they are bad for each other.

I tries that once. Didn't work. Go with the flow, or you'll start to get redundant real fast. Unless Joss listens to you, which he won't 'cause he's mean. Hey, all I require of Joss is that they be friends, and he doesn't even want to give me that!

I actually like Satsu very much. I'm just being faithful to my 'ship of choice.

I insist Satsu loaned her lip gloss to somebody else and agreed to take the fall for it if Buffy ever figured it out.
Which is not to say she isn't also smitten with Buffy...
La la la, I can't hear you Joss...

Buffy showed us that you can over come it. That there are ways to deal with it. As well as looking hot doing it. The real world is many things, but it doesn't have to be insufferably misearable. Which is what Season Six was. Furthermore, if you want bleak realism, watch The Wire. Keep that crap out of my Buffy, thanks.

Well, see, I don't mind that, but I do mind your jumping to the conclusion that "people who value good writing and good storytelling tend to be disappointed with Season 6". That statement is offensive to more than half of the fandom. I'll PM you about BF. You're right; that was uncalled for. I apologize.

i think season 6 was the best season Buffy ever had. The writing was phenomenal and gutsy, and it stabbed us all in the hearts. That's what a real writer does. That's what a GOOD writer does. I loved it, and always will. I hate it and I always will. Speaking from an entirely personal level, a) I care far too much for these characters, b) I cannot stand to watch them suffer like they did. c) As far as I can see, Whedon had no other point in that season than to make them suffer. Agree to disagree.

That point I must disagree; people who value good writing and good storytelling tend to be disappointed with season 6. Can I call that presumptuous? I'll call that presumptuous. Personally, I thought Season 6 was unparalleled in its Campbellian undertones and its daring exploration of dark sexuality and human villainy. It suffered from "most recent season syndrome" at the time it aired -- "the audience always hates the current season", Joss Whedon put it; "we heard it last year, too ... and now people are going 'Oh, we love Glory'", David Fury put it -- but it has recovered big time since then. It was recently elected "Best Season" on BF, and Joss Whedon himself "loves Season 6" and "thinks a lot of the best episodes they ever did were in Season 6". It goes without saying that I disagree with everything in that statement. What is BF? Never heard of them. If Joss loved Season Six, I think that speaks volumes about him. Agree to disagree.

Of course people who seek "mental diversion by means of entertainment or recreation" are disappointed with season 6. That point I must disagree; people who value good writing and good storytelling tend to be disappointed with season 6. Something we have a right to expect from Whedon.
