BOOM! Mind click. Why wouldnt spike react like that? If its future Spike, he would be surprised that Spike is there because he was never there (in the past, he'd remember it). Remember when Illyria flashed Spike through time (in ATF) and there was a shot of Spike in what looked like Haddyn from Fray (or how u spell it). I'm in no way saying it is deffo Spike, but just remembered that future flash, which may connect to why Spike is Twilight.
Extra note, even CRAZIER theory: Willow went walk about before season 8? What if the Willow in the present is actually a Willow from a future not so far away. This would connect to the comments about Willow fans possibly feeling more distant to the original Willow in the upcoming one shot. What if Willows walkabout involved being swapped with an alternate Willow, so the 'dark' Willow from the future is actually our Willow, stuck in time, hence the depression (rather than the evil). That swap, may have been needed in some way to pull future Spike (Twilight) out of the timeline.
Wow.... rip it to threads now please before i get convinced this is an amazing idea haha.

Then maybe it will be Buffy... for real, and permanently. Maybe all the talk of season 9 is just a smokescreen to make us think Buffy can't die. That would be the worst thing thing Joss has ever done. And the kicker? No-one would be able to go "Im not going to buy these anymore" because that would be it. Joss had better not do that. I'm sure some crazy fan would assassinate him....

Theres something off about Buffy's other hand? And the white coat thing she is wearing. I could be way off, but as this cover has been released months in advance, the cover could be altered closer to the time, ive known comics to do this in the past to hold back spoilers. What if in that coat, and with her weird placed hand shes carrying Oz's baby? Its the perfect place for them to draw him in.....

Haha, just had a thought. What if the big shocker is that the Buffy we have been following isn't the real one, its the 'other' replacement. And *our* buffy has been dead since before season 8 started. Would you keep reading? haha

I disagree, I don't think Angel is obvious at all. I think he's the longest long-shot in long-shoterton. This is the trouble that ive mentioned with "betrayer, the most unexpected" The most unexpected or surprising would be Angel, which kinda makes it expected.... because alot of us think of the most unexpected, making the most unexpected, now the most expected. Technically the most unexpected would be the first person we originally thought of.... did that make ANY sense??

as a result takes a human life and contemplates suicide. That actually gave me butterflies in my stomach. If that happened, it would be the only time i'd cried reading the comics (bar connors death in ATF, i was close to tears then)

Will the season 8 ending be a season 3 type ending (absolute closure but chance to explore a different story) Or season 6 ending (Setting up the next season, questions unanswered, cliffhanger gallore! curiosity as to where the story will go) I know this might be too spolilery but i cant stand the idea that season 8 story wont have proper closure until least season 9 (hypothetically at LEAST 2 years away )

As far as you know:
"The prince" "The betrayal, the closest the most unexpected" And the identity of the Twilight.
Were these all fully known when they were first mentioned/created, or has the the way the story progressed subtlely (or not) changed the outcomes to these 'mysteries'? Has the prince become a different person, has the betrayer changed identities, has it even changed how they were to betray Buffy. etc.

Just had a thought and didnt know where else to put it.
Has anyone else read Joss's astonishing Xmen? Because in the final couple of issues he uses this really awesome technique. Which, has been done before in Buffy the show. In Chosen - Buffy's pep talk to the girls is cut short (but we don't realise this until late in the episode when it replays what we saw, but continued where we left off)
Astonishing Xmen - There is a conversation going on. Later in the issue when the Xmen kick off and their plan falls into action, the same page is shown, but this time, it is shown that thanks to Emma they were all talking to each other telepathically. But we at the time never saw the REAL conversation going on
I think the final arc will have a flash back to when Buffy went to Fray's world. What did Fray see? What did Buffy read in those books? Buffy knows that Frays world wasnt great, and it seemed that Buffy was the one who banished magic. I think Buffy may have been setting up chess pieces which will all be clear in the final arc. Obviously there are some wild cards (the betrayal, twilights identity) but ultimately when it gets to the final arc, I think Joss is going to pull this little flashback technique to make our jaws drop as we realise something else has been going on right in front of our eyes.

I didnt originally see it from a lesbian/cant reproduce with your loved one way. I saw it as a 'grass greener on the other side' way. Imagine Willow and magic as a woman in her mid twenties still drinking and partying, then suddenly she runs into her old love and he has settled down and has a family and is clearly happy, clearly grown up, even though you are happy, you may be jealous of the 'other life' which your ex love has gone and achieved.
By the way, re reading retreat part 2 again. All the scenes of Giles with the baby, what if the brutal heart breaking conclusion to the retreat ends with Giles giving the baby to twilight or something along the lines of when Wesley kidnapped connor, thinking he was doing the right thing.....

I find it interesting that Angel is smiling, I was getting the impression he would hate the attention. Plus only just noticed the guy wearing a Spike mask/hair.

Ive not read so much about the whole positive gay character thing to Ianto. I for one is mainly annoyed because in the last season 2 of the main cast was killed off. Then at the end of this season, ANOTHER main character has been killed off. Leaving.... 2 main character.
Imagine by the end of season three, Giles, Cordy, Willow and Oz had been killed off, leaving just Buffy and Xander.
You'd be a bit like WTF??

Season 4: Why did they not kill Spike? Specially after the Adam-business. He was dangerous. Season 7: Robin and Giles trying to kill Spike. Necessary? Perhaps. Nice? Nooo...... Is that not a bit contradictory?
