That was really cute, and you captured the voices of the characters very well. I don't read a lot of fic, but the title made me take a look.

She's cool, she has a distinctive voice and style that sets her apart from other female emcees. Too often they all sound like 'Lil Kim or Foxy Brown.

Yeah, the interesting thing about this is that it would be a remake from the original script, so I assume we won't have any rapping flying monkeys or anything like that. One of the posters on the site suggested Neil Patrick Harris for the Tin Man.

OK you are making me really think about this now, and I realized that i don't have a good answer! Clearly the council was watching her so they would know where she was going. Whistler was watching her too though. I just get a strong sense that Buffy was destined to go to Sunnydale.

I enjoyed the episode as well. I haven't been loving the show as much as I used to, but these last few eps really drew me in again. I have disliked Nancy as a character for some time now, as she has become so selfish and is generally a terrible human being. This showed a glimmer of hope for her, finally making some good decision.

@ Skymommy-I always thought Buffy was sent to Sunnydale "For a Reason", and it wasn't by chance. Giles was already stationed there when she arrived, and he knew she was coming.

I have faith that things will start to fall into place soon. I agree that after this issue I feel a little bit dissatisfied, but I can see how what happened in this issue can eventually lead to a more impactful story.

I saw Street Sweeper Social Club (Tom Morello of RATM + Boots Riley of the Coup) last week. It was a great show. The Memorial opened, which was also really good. A rock group led by one of the former drummer of the Mars Volta. It was really neat to see an African-American rock band with a female singer just turn the place out. I know race shouldn't be important, but I always celebrate when I see people going outside of the stereotype.

The Human Centipede: First Sequence. This movie was really gross. I don't know if anyone has seen it, but it is not for the squeamish. I'm not even sure if I liked it.

I just watched two of the videos. She is very talented. The songs sound nice and she appears to be very good a the piano. I do have some thoughts overall. To give you some context, I spent 7 years working in marketing for a major music distributor and record company, so I have been around the music business.
She needs to really think about what she is trying to do with her music and set some clear goals. Getting into soundtrack or scoring work for TV and Film is very different than being a live performer for example.
I think she needs to get with other musicians. Very rarely does a solo instrumentalist make it as a recording artist, unless they are playing a particular genre, like classical or jazz. Even then, they need accompaniment. I think regardless, she should seek out other musicians to collaborate with. That helps increase exposure and also helps the musician to grow. Working with a vocalist would help as well. Most people like singing; it really limits the audience without vocals. I'm not saying that she HAS to have a singer, but it does limit her to a group of people that like instrumental music.
The most important thing is to keep at it.

I hate to say it, but I think Angel is at the point now where he'd be a more interesting character if he just did an Anakin Skywalker, and embraced the evil. After this, I have to think he's coming around to the opinion that there's no point in fighting it. I wonder whether his role in season 9 will be that of a white hat or a black hat? Season 9 could be based on the contrast between Angel (destiny's bitch) and Buffy (destiny's nemesis). One of the first things Buffy says when Merrick comes to her is "I'm destiny-free, really." I suspect her whole character arc is pointed in the direction of finally making that a reality. And Angel is the counterpoint. If he's saved in the end, it's going to be because Buffy saves him. You bring up something I never really considered before. What if Angel is not redeemed? What if he becomes an ongoing Big Bad, ala the Joker or Doctor Doom? Or maybe he is "Morally ambiguous" going forward? I just always assumed Joss would find a way to bring him back to good guy status.
