I think there needs to be a distinction between how much canon matter for a fandom vs. how much it matters for an individual. One of the reasons canon is so important to a fandom is that it gives us a clear set of events to discuss and evaluate. For the sake of discussing Buffy, canon is very important because without it, we would not be able to have clear and meaningful discussions surrounding character development and events that happen in the story.
From an individual perspective, I don't care what people decide to accept or read. If a particular fan wants to create their own Buffyverse were Spike and Buffy live happy ever after and in a suburbs of Detroit and raise their 2 1/2 vampire 1/2 human children, then more power to them! Their personal Buffyverse, however, has no place in a discussion with other fans, unless the discussion is about personal "Alternate Buffyverses".

The 'Tennent (Topher+Bennent)' ship should be spelled: ' Tennett (Topher+ Bennett)'. Bennett is not spelled with an 'n' at the ending. Yeah sorry that was a typo on my part, but I can't edit the original post.

I posted a whole thing, but that's kinda lame. I think this is my goodbye to Slay Alive forums. It's been fun while it's been positive. Hope those who read my blog (hey there, you three!) still enjoy it. And kudos to those who respect good and dedicated writers. Hasta. Pat, I always enjoy hearing what you have to say, and I think you bring something to the Comics discussion on this forum. Your insights will be missed.

I know about the multiple titles, Wenxina. I am very up-to-date when it comes to that information (which is why people who think Faith might die should be reminded about her Season 9 miniseries). I just don't want Jeanty on it. He's not a good-enough artist for such a high profile book. I could tolerate him on one of the minis but not another 25 issues of Season 9. I prefer artists like Ethan van Sciver, Shane Davis, Jim Lee, Ian Churchill, and the late, great Michael Turner. When you're doing a licensed book, the most important part is making the drawings look like the actors. It's a canonical continuation of the TV series, so the closest the book feels to the series, the better. And that means making the characters look EXACTLY like the actors. And Jeanty just isn't up to snuff. I wish Jo Chen were fast enough to take on the monthly book. Her likenesses are PERFECT and her covers are always the highlight of the art each month. Her 3-page MDHP story with Joss was amazingly illustrated. She is the perfect artist for Buffy. I actually really like Jeanty's take on the characters, and I like that he is not trying to draw them to look like photo realistic replications of the actors. He gives them emotion and warmth that I think would be lost if he spent all of his time making Buffy look like SMG. For me Buffy Summers now transcends the medium that made her famous (Which was not the medium she was created for). I don't need Batman to look exactly the same in every interpretation, as long as the spirit of the character stays intact. I hope that we see many interpretations of Buffy for years to come. Nothing would make me happier to have her share the spotlight with other legendary superheros.

For Dollhouse what about:
Baunders (Boyd + Saunders) Pecho (Paul + Echo) Tennent or rather Tennett (Topher+Bennett)

Pretty sure that that's the whole point of the last scene with Spike. We are supposed to be misled to think Spike is going to get his chip out, to give Buffy "what she deserves". We are meant to think that "what she deserves" is death, but instead, "she deserves" a Spike with a soul.

Did you check Amazon.com? I'm think all of them are out by now for ATF, but I have the hardcovers so I haven't been looking for them.

This is the series that got me interested in comics. I met BKV at a signing and thanked him profusely for introducing me to something great (and fairly late!).

I think we are supposed to be wondering about that still. I don't think it has been 100% confirmed how much control Angel had before his full possession in issue 38. It does appear however, that his level of free will is greatly reduced. It's either that or he has been playing Buffy since he realved himself and now he is showing his true intentions.
Also, I don't think we need spoiler tags, the issue has been out for over a day.

Just read JMS's Superman Earth One. It was a nice reimagining of the Superman tale.

I do not know what to say. I really don't know how this is all going to play out, or how Angel is going to come out of this. I assume his "possesion" at the end of this issue is different than what has been happening to him throughout the season.

Under Angel, I think Gwunn and Gwonner should be added as well.
And I would like to claim Funn.

Yeah I was a little surprised that they revealed that in the previews. I wonder what that means in the Supernatural verse. It isn't something that they have explored too much.

I was in the audience at the reunion, and Seth did not seem as bad as he may come off in the video. You've got to understand that he was feeding off of the crowd and the crowd was loving him. As a performer, if he gets attention he's going to keep it up. I thought he was actually pretty funny.
As for the ipod question, I can't speak to why Sarah didn't answer, but it could also have been attributed to audience reaction. When that person asked that question the audience let out a collective groan because someone had just wasted a once in a lifetime opportunity to ask the Buffy cast a question and it wasn't about Buffy.

Josh, I had no idea Murphy created Popular until now..... Really? It was one of the first things I learned about when Glee got into motion at the beginning of last fall season. I was a big fan of Nip/Tuck, but that's all I knew him for. On another note, my thoughts on the episode: First let me say that I am not a fan of RHPS. I think it is one of those things that has taken on such a cult status that the sheer awfulness of it is overlooked in favor of camp. Just my opinion though, not hating if you like it. That being said I actually enjoyed this more than I thought I would. I liked Mercedes breaking out of her typecast. She does great as the "Soul Girl" but I think she has more to offer. Her version of "And I am Telling You" was great, but how predictable can you get when it comes to song choice? I thought it was utterly ridiculous that they would have even considered doing this in High School. I am pretty open-minded, but I think I would have sided with the Chang family on this one. Also, Will is a turd. I mean, come on dude, get over it.

Sorry about the double post, but it's been a minute. I caught the pilot of this, and it was OK. It initially comes off as a pretty typical teen drama, but I could see more interesting storylines developing, especially with Marti at the helm.
One thing that really struck me was the diversity in the cast. The two main characters are unconventional looking for your typical TV show. The main girl is pretty but looks like a typical teenage girl you would see in any town, which is ironic because she is playing the daughter of Hollywood royalty. Her best friend would be considered overweight by Hollywood standards, but she seems comfortable in her skin, and they don't seem to focus on weight as a main part of her character. Too many times on TV the "Fat Character" always has a sandwich in their hands or cookies in their pockets.
Plus, it has Walt from Lost, and of course Emma Caulfield.
I can see my relationship with this show being like my relationship with Degrassi-there are some really great redeeming qualities for all ages hidden in a show that is geared towards a demographic younger than me. I won't be a regular watcher, but if I hear about an interesting story line (or I know Marti is writing the episode) I may check it out.
